I stayed here in 2014 I purchased a group tour that included my hotel and train tickets from London Kings Cross ST. Pancreas to Paris, Gare Du Nord. This is a small hotel and the rooms are quite small but they are pretty clean. The room has a tv and USB chargers and this like little desk thing which is handy but the rooms do smell like some kind of strong lysol cleaning product. I didnt really have to deal with the front desk since our tour guide handled all the check in stuff and check out stuff the people part of the group tour just had to hand over the keys. Im not usually a fan or morning breakfasts at hotels and prefer to wonder off and get breakfast somewhere else but since I was parto a sight seeing tour i stayed with the group, breakfast was ok they had basic items nothing too fancy. Now I understand the culture is very different especially coming from the U.S. but the staff at the bar was like non existent. They had a small bar downstairs but nobody was ever there and to get someone to come took like 20 minutes, the drink menu was literally only like 3 items. Red wine, WHite wine and Stell artois beer. They do have a wii that you can play with downstairs and a foosball table. It really is a 3 star hotel, if i ever visit paris again ill splash out on a nicer hotel because im kidna picky like that. This place was just part of my tour tickets and i didnt want to wonder around by myself so this is what i got. Upside there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Oh Ya PS. the majority of the other people staying here were italian, I mean a bus full of Italians showed up my 3rd day here I highly recommend the italian restaurant across the street best food and service i’ve ever had.

To say that I was nervous about what to expect is an understatement. I had read many reviews about what to expect in terms of European hotel quality, service and size. I’m happy none of the blog ranting was true. :LOCATION: I had done a bunch of research(reading Frommers and blogs) about what areas to stay in, and the Republique area won. Hotel Ibis was in a perfect location for tourism. With the Republique station within walking distance(American walking distance = one block) getting anywhere in the city was a piece of cake. There are a ton of places to eat nearby and a grocery store on the corner. :THEHOTEL: Surprisingly very modern. Expect for that elevator, but that’s not their fault… Parisians of the old days must have been rail-thin. The décor, complimentary wifi and breakfast were all very nice. :THEROOM: Very spacious(by European standards). We had 3 beds, 3 women and 6 peoples luggage and it all fit comfortably. No we weren’t able to do back flips in the room, but budget priced hotels aren’t for that. We had 2 nice windows that allowed for a cool breeze and the lawnmower like sounds of all those damn scooters. The air conditioner worked very well too. The tub was a little dangerous but after almost falling to my death, I learned what not to do. :THESERVICE: Really good. The front desk staff were informative and pleasant. The cleaning staff, needed some deodorant. The food staff were cool. Breakfast was really good btw. :TIPS: 1. This isn’t America, learn the European way of life. Discount Price does not equal 5 star accommodations and service. 2. Don’t have an attitude, respect is internationally universal. 3. Enjoy Paris.

Lage so lala.

Substandard hotel with TINY rooms and terrible mattresses. Location is IMPORTANT when in paris and i would highly recommended staying closer to city centre.
