This hotel was a fantastic home base for me and my wife on our anniversary trip to Paris. We wanted a place on the Left Bank, preferably in the Latin Quarter. We liked that it was a boutique hotel and that it was close to public transit. It was very clean. And the room was large for European standards. We were constantly out eating in cafes and looking at art museums and churches, so having a huge sprawling room was not a concern of ours. When we were in the room, we were either in bed or getting ready to go out, so we didn’t need a ton of room. But don’t plan to do your morning yoga in the room… Go to Luxembourg Gardens for that The concierges were so wonderful. As an American in Paris who doesn’t speak very much French, it is always nice to have people around you who can help. They helped us print some tickets we forgot to print at home. They arranged some reservations for us and helped guide us towards certain landmarks. The room was always clean by the time we came back. Most days we went out for food, but on our morning that we went to Versailles we grabbed breakfast at the hotel. We each grabbed a delicious pain choclat and a bottle of water. When we finally got the bill at the end of the trip, we realized the cost for the breakfast was € 15 each. What a ridiculous price for breakfast. Admittedly, with the quality of bakeries around the city, there was no need to go to the hotel breakfast, but I don’t think the charge should have been that much. So by all means… Stay here for an economic way to experience a very charming and posh Parisian hotel. But do not get breakfast at the hotel. You will find all kinds of options up and down the boulevards of Paris. Bön Voyage!

My new favourite hotel. In the world. 4 stars are underrating the hotel. You cannot come to your room without smiling at how gorgeous it is. The details, the design features, the bed comfort. I feel like I’m in a bunny’s home. A hole in the wall of Bvd St Michel, which is great for discretion. Next to Sorbonne. Around corner from Bistro Balzar and so many other great French places. Weekend markets two steps down for cheeses et charcuteries, chocolat chaud… Kettle in room for Dammann Freres tea. Safe that works. Hot water and shower that works. This is definitely a girly hotel, for the clean and tidy. Not for romps with a lover unless he’s a white bunny.
