It was our fist time in Paris, so I did a ton of research before booking a hotel — I was very happy I chose Hotel Mercure! After reading some good reviews on TripAdvisor, I booked via . I was pretty happy with the price, the rooms are ~$ 170/night — given the fact that people always complain about Paris being so expensive, I thought this was a steal! We decided to take a cab from the airport(ORY). It took us about 20 minutes to get to the hotel and the cab ride was € 30(about $ 41). We arrived around 9pm and I was immediately in love with the location! The street is narrow(as most streets are in Paris) and it is full of bright lights, cute cafes, bars, theaters, etc. It is super lively, even late at night. When you arrive, make sure you grab a map from the front desk. There are 2 metro stations located right near the hotel — super convenient! We took the metro everywhere that wasn’t walking distance — don’t cab it, it gets really pricey. Grab a map at the Metro station — you’ll be able to get to every single tourist attraction via Metro! The Rooms: The rooms are a decent size — I read that they were pretty big relative to other hotel rooms in Paris. Super clean, good lighting in the bathroom, comfy bed, great shower pressure. We had 2 rooms and were happy with both. From one of the rooms, we could see the top half of the Eiffel Tower! The Service: Front desk clerks/concierge spoke English(of course, to be respectful, we always tried speaking French first — this goes for everywhere we went), they were really helpful with directions and also quick with whatever we needed in our rooms. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

Very nice hotel centrally located on Montparnasse a very short walk from two metro stations and Gare Montparnasse is not far away, which makes it easy to get to with airport bus from CDG. It lies in a one way street with lots of theatres and restaurants and bars. We had a room on the backside and it was quiet all night even when the full nightlife started. The room was big for Paris standard and had a small ding table for two persons. It was also a minibar there were you could put your water and it was actually able to get it cold. There was also complementary coffee, cockies and bottle water. The breakfast was also better than usual french/Paris standard. The service was good and the frontdesk very helpfull. They also responded promptly to email request before arrival.
