Hôtel Royal Saint-Honoré

hotels sind bekanntlich geschmackssache. das royal st honore gehoert zu worldhotels, die das motto haben wenn in hong kong, dann auch wie in hong kong schlafen. heisst, hier ist alles ein wenig franzoesisch plueschig. enge gaenge, kleine zzimmer, teppich ueberall und etwas in die jahre gekommen. bad sauber und groesser, top lage und wifi gratis. also eigentlich alles ganz ok, aber halt vom stil echt nicht so prickelnd, fuehl mich hier nie sauber, und zimmer sindd etwas hellhoerig. personal sehr nett und zuvorkommend (nicht selbstverstaendlich in paris). fruehstuecksbuffet standard und extra punkt fuer frische ananas und wassermelone. Update: 2013
Zimmer und Gaenge wurden renoviert. Neuer Teppich, neue betten (wow!), neuer Anstrich und neues Interieur. Das verdient einen extra Stern und man fuehlt sich wieder wohl hier zu uebernachten.

This boutique hotel boasts a name that places in the forefront its great location on Rue St. Honore, a block away from Place Vendome. One comes here for the location.
Rooms are relatively large for Paris and are modern although they could use a bit of updating. Service is acceptable but not stellar — we had to wait outside the hotel for 10 minutes late one night because there was no one at the front desk, for example. They also forgot a wake up call one morning and called 30 minutes late with an apology.
Prices were excellent. Best deal I’ve had in Paris that I can remember.

La poissonnerie est petite, mais vous y trouvez de tout. Et en plus, le poissonnier est très sympa.
A quelques mètres du marché Saint Honoré où vous pourrez continuer vos courses.

I found the Royal St. Honoré to be an excellent base for Paris.
Everything in my room was good 4 Star standard, the price was outrageous for Hamburg, but good value for central Paris.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The location on the Rue St. Honoré can’t really get any better. You are 5 minutes away from the Louvre, prestigous Place Vendome, and the very best in Paris shopping in the rue St. Honoré.
The only minus was the very loud air condition equipment outside.
