Tried this restaurant based on previous reviews and I’m so glad I did. The Duck breast w/honey orange sauce over sautéed mushrooms with mashed potatoes & salad is amazing. I’ve been coming to Paris for the last 6 months and this is the best meal I’ve had. Not to mention the great atmosphere and welcoming staff. Can’t wait to come back on my next trip in 2 weeks.

So glad we found this restaurant while walking around the area. We were looking for some great food, in a cozy setting and got that and more. The service was fantastic, English speaking was very helpful. Had the Duck which was cooked to perfection with a yummy Syrah and crumble for dessert. Highly recommended!

Friendly(might I add handsome) wait-staff all eager to offer suggestions and speak in English. I ordered the scallops which were cooked to perfection and paired with vegetables and sauces that blew my mind(and tastebuds) Very cozy interior, I think that there’s a back room for additional seating but I’m not sure. We arrived a little after 20h with no reservation however I think it might be a good idea to make one if you plan on coming that late on a Friday night. Feels local but apparently from the amount of English reviews and the ease of which our server spoke English, I’m going to assume they are very welcome to travelers as well. Also! I highly recommend taking your time and saving room for dessert. The crème brûlée is fantastic and easily shared between 2! I will definitely come back again.

Ordered the beef rib eye with foie gras sauce and i loved it! The beef was tender. It came with scalloped potatoes and it was so creamy. It’s a lovely place to dine with an unpretentious atmosphere.

So far since we’ve been in Paris this is the best restaurant with great food. Waiters were friendly and seated us even though we didn’t make reservations. The restaurant was warm and cozy. We ordered the raw salmon for appetizer and had the duck and steak with foie gras sauce. It was so great we finished everything and left the plate clean!

Remarkable balance of flavors. It’s always a good sign when you can’t decide what to eat because everything looks so good. They have a variety of tartare dishes both beef and salmon. To not miss out on the amazing entrees, I opted for the salmon tartare appetizer. The salmon was very fresh and perfectly seasoned with dill, lime, olive oil. Perfect and refreshing appetizer. For entrees, we had the duck as well as the scallops. The orange sauce was simple but executed just right. Great balance of sweet, tart and savory. The scallops wee rich and creamy. The sauce was a bit heavy for my taste but the flavor was spot on. Dessert was the chocolate covered poached pear. I was thrilled the chef used a bitter sweet chocolate. The restraint on the sweetness was very refreshing and let the pear shine. The service was friendly, helpful and attentive. This will be a standby place when I am in Paris.

My trip(s) to La Coincidence made me decide I need to start writing reviews. We came here 3 times in our 6 nights in Paris. That’s how good it was. The owner, Albon, and the staff are amazing and friendly people that made us feel completely at home. It is a local joint, that makes you feel like your not just eating in Paris but having an experience. Cannot recommend it enough. Had the scallops twice, unreal!!! And the pepper steak, also phenomenal. GETTHEEGGPLANTAPPETIZER!

Probably my favorite meal that I had in Paris! The duck was tender and absolutely delicious. Magret de canard is my favorite and they definitely know how to cook it here. Exactly what I wanted for one of my last meals in my favorite city. It was out of the way and not a tourist spot at all, which made it even better. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We loved our meal so much that we couldn’t help but get dessert! I’ll definitely be back!

Great French food! The service is fast and friendly — our waiter(I believe the owner) spoke solid English and was very friendly. The scallops were excellent! The lemon sauce, mashed potatoes, and vegetables were great and the scallops tasted delicious, but the dish only came with 4 relatively small scallops — not enough for a full meal. The duck was good(we ordered medium, and it was pretty rare), but the fillet is probably the superior choice. We didn’t like the taste or texture of the foie gras appetizer, but others seemed to really enjoy it. The poached pear dessert and pessac wine were also excellent — I would highly recommend both. The restaurant is cozy and crowded — get an online reservation!

Many restaurants in Paris are small, and that can’t be helped. However, La Coïncidence feels wonderfully cozy, not claustrophobic. Maybe it’s the big glass restaurant front or the cushioned corner booth I had, but most likely the very charming hosts. The menu is solid. I had the beef in foie gras sauce, steak tartare, scalloped potatoes and rabbit pâté. All were excellent, favored in the above referenced order. Everything was reasonably priced, including the wine.

This is the place to recommend. The one that I will always come back to. This is it. It serves a WONDERFUL steak with foie gras and mushroom sauce, but they SHINE when it comes to their tartar steaks. The 16th is a bit out of the way in Paris but if you’re ever around Trocadero or Etoile, it is absolutely worth the walk. The atmosphere is quiet in that Parisian sort of way where silence is chic and yet there is still a tinge of that frantic urban pulse running through the room. * GOODFOR: Anyone really. Great steak, stellar tartar, wonderful St. Jacques scallops. I’m gonna need a minute here sorry… * NOTGOODFOR: I don’t know… people who want shawarma? Seriously I can’t envision a scenario where you’d want to skip this. Unless you’re a goose. Or your father was a goose.

This is a wonderful classic French restaurant with a down home, comfort, family style atmosphere, in the same area of the Eiffel Tower. The menu is in French, so if you’re not fluent enough to understand the menu items, most of the waiters are very friendly and helpful, and speak enough English to assist you with translations. Arrive at opening hour or expect a wait, unless you have a reservation. Food items are simply prepared, but very delicious. They generally have a special soup of the day-hubby and I had soup with a seafood base. Also tried a eggplant appetizer, and a sampling of different items, which included a salmon dish, chicken, and vegetables which were roasted in a velvety, earthy cooking sauce. It can become loud, depending on the time of day that you come. Otherwise, everything was top notch, and the prices are very reasonable.

Do yourself the favor and eat here! The most delicious meal I’ve ever had in Paris, with an inviting and casual atmosphere. In any other restaurant this would have been an expensive, white table cloth meal, but they prepared exquisite food without the fuss. Everything we ate was incredible! We started with the eggplant gratin which was perfectly cooked on a bed of mozzarella and topped with fresh basil. My husband got the soup of the day which was a purée of potato, carrot and leeks; yum! For our entrees I had the beef with mushroom and foie gras sauce, which was the best entrée I’ve maybe ever had(all the other reviews were right!!), and he got the scallops which he reviewed with almost as high acclaim. We were too full for dessert but the table next to us got the cheesecake and licked their plates clean so I imagine it was also delicious. All of this food and a bottle of wine and our bill was under 100 euro! The restaurant is also very comfortable; like eating at someone’s home. There is a small front room and more tables in back that all filled up by 9pm. We called ahead for a reservation and got the front corner booth with comfortable bench seats and large soft pillows to lean against(props you close to the table instead of slouching back). The two servers both attended to each table, were very polite, and spoke English well. But regardless of how great the atmosphere was, what I will really remember/crave about La Coincidence is the FOOD! I hope I get to eat here again soon!

Ahh pari… such fond memories. Especially the food. This place did most of it right. Service was outstanding. The staff was warm, welcoming and extremely helpful with the menu. They explained the entire French menu from top to bottom. There was an expat working there when we went who was originally from NYC working there, wonderful young lady, with excellent recommendations. We started with the chicken Tartine. I’ve had better Tartine, but this place is solid. It was on the drier side which I don’t mind at all. Anything is better than slimy texture so I was really happy with this. Then we had the beef with the foie gras sauce everyone is raving about. It lived up to the hype. Super buttery, tender, and oh, so flavorful! The other dishes were just okay. If I could do it all over again, I would order 5 beef foie gras. And wine. Lots of wine.

About one half mile north of the Eiffel Tower on a small side street north of Victor Hugo circle and south of the Trocadero neighborhood sits this amazing neighborhood restaurant. I walked in late on a Saturday night and was lucky enough to grab a small table in the back room. Like nearly half of the other patrons I opted for the rare filet with wild mushrooms served in a foi gras cream sauce and a side of potato gratins(on the menu it appears as Filet de boeuf sauce aux cèpes et foie gras, gratin dauphinois). As Recommend by the server the meal was paired with a few glasses of the Reserve de la Duchesse Pessac-Léognan a very nice bordeaux mix which I highly recommend to go with this menu selection. And for dessert an amazing vanilla crème brûlée that was like a warm blanket for my soul. The food was amazing and the service(despite a very full Saturday night was extremely friendly and helpful(everyone on staff seemed to speak English). This restaurant has my highest recommendation.

Hands down, thee best meal I’ve had in Paris and YTD2015. If you’re in Paris and reading this GOHERENOW! Do not leave Paris without stopping here. The prices are very reasonable and the quality is phenomenal. We found this cute space via Unilocal,it’s a 10 min walk from the Trocadero stop on the Metro. The space and ambience inside was wonderful and the wait staff was beyond compare. We have the eggs with foi gras appetizer and it was great. We then had the filet mignon and the the scallops and it too was great. I attached pictures of our dessert which made the meal even more wonderful.

We wanted to visit the Eiffel Tower at night so we were searching for a dinner spot close by(but not too close and touristy). Luckily we stumbled upon La Coincidence! We were there when it just opened and about 2⁄3 of the tables were already reserved(weeknight), so be sure to make reservations in advance or come right at opening! Since the whole menu is in French, we had a hard time deciphering… luckily, the waiter was SUPER amazing and patiently translated AND described each dish on the menu one by one. The ambience is quirky, casual and overall very comfortable. We had… Soupe du jour– soup of the day, it was a creamy and spicy fish soup with great texture and flavor Magret de canard du Perigord et sa sauce au miel et a l’orange, purée de pommes de terre — highly recommend this! Its duck cooked in a honey and orange sauce and it is perfect… so, so perfect Saint Jacques sauce beurre blanc, fondu de poireaux et petits — delicate scallops in a white butter sauce… yummy All dishes came out hot and fresh :) Really great place to go for a casual dinner!

Excellent beef joint! Burgers, Steak, and Tartare are the specialities. We enjoyed the Burrata starter– goooey mozzarella with tangy little cherry tomates and greens. I enjoyed the filet with mushrooms and foie gras, and it was exceptional as expected. My friend had the cheeseburger. We washed it down with some Bourgogne– yum! Great, intimate setting. Only issue was the heat of the restaurant. It was super hot inside and this detracted from the meal experience. Like a sauna hot– we left kind of drenched, all full of beef, passed on desserts. A little icky on the exit…

We found this place while searching Unilocal for some ratatouille, and bookmarked it. Completely by luck, we are out visiting the Trocadéro for some Eiffel Tower photos, and decided to walk over here for dinner before heading back to see the Eiffel at night(or, nighttime for Paris, which was still insanely bright with daylight outside) This was truly a gem, and easily in the top two for our meals in France. It’s in a tricky location, but we found it easily on foot. It’s actually conveniently in the middle of the Arc de Triomphe and Trocadéro so you can stop in between visiting the two. The menu was all in French, but the host came up to us and patiently explained the whole menu to us in English, and didn’t seem the least bit bothered that he had just done that for another couple sitting two tables down from us. I had the cooked salmon with ratatouille and mashed potatoes which was AMAZING. I think I had salmon every day while I was in France but this was by far the best I had. They served it with this lime-cilantro-tomato-olive oil sauce that was just superb. We ordered their dessert special, apple pie. Now, I’m not usually one for pies, since I haven’t had many growing up. Normally I don’t judge pies. But what they served us here was not pie. It was as if a basket of apples had devoured an apple orchard, that slowly fed off what was an apple pie. There was a light, flaky crust underneath all the apple, but the rest of it was some sort of spiced, baked apple heaven with a small scoop of light whipped ice cream. We finished our meal with some coffee which they served with a piece of chocolate covered almond. This was most definitely some of the most delicious food, friendliest service, and best dessert I have ever had, and at an extremely reasonable price.
