La Fée Verte

Pour boire un apéritif original, l’endroit est idéal. Pour un bon dîner, tentez votre chance ailleurs. Saumon demandé mi-​cuit et servi bien trop cuit, température de la purée qui n’est pas homogèné… Bref, réchauffer un plat au micro-​onde, fût-​il «fait maison», né permet pas de servir des merveilles.

D’abord– on a attendu 27 minutes de notre arrivé avant de recevoir nos 2 mojitos! Il n y avait même pas beaucoup de monde donc on avait décidé de né pas rester manger.
Les prix n’étaient pas mal à 5euros le mojito– mais après une attente de 30 minutes je crois que le serveur est allé en Mexique pour les préparer.
Non, je crois pas que je reviendrai.

This place used to be good. Now the food is depressing:(go some place else until they start to improve. Menu hasn’t changed since it opened but that doesn’t mean it’s good.

Staff were kept very busy dealing with a large group of demanding young Americans who wanted their bill split in a complex way. Assumed they were taking advantage of the lower drinking age here and the absinthe. Avoid on a Saturday night.

You don’t go to La Fée Verte for the food (although it is pretty good) but for their Absinthe-​based drinks (La Fée verte, the green fairy, is the nickname of this alcohol). If you want to feel like a 19^th century impressionist for one night, this is the place.

My husband and I had a late lunch here in October after arriving in Paris for a two week long European vacation. This was our first meal in France and it did not disappoint!
Overall:
Cute absinthe bar in the 11^th. We had planned to come back later to try absinthe, but they were always packed at night! So that should probably tell you something. They are also open seven days a week, all day long, which is very convenient.
Food:
My husband had the beef tartare and I had an enormous green salad that included potatoes, ham and a giant wheel of melting Camembert on top of it. The portion sizes were huge — I couldn’t even finish my salad! The tartare came with a side salad and fries. It was very good, but it would have been nice to have some bread or something else to eat it with. The wines were very reasonably priced.
Service:
It wasn’t our best dining experience in Paris, but it wasn’t terrible. We had to wait a long time to get menus after we were seated, but after we ordered our food came very quickly (although we didn’t get our wine until after our food had arrived). Towards the end of our meal, we had a very nice chat with one of our servers.

Used to be good… service was fine, but they definitely need a chef… homard (lobster) sauce was straight from a can…

Came here during a week stay in Paris. Loved it! Mainly wanted to try the absinthe tower since I was a first timer. Delicious!

Some may have thought my parents crazy for bringing me, a two and a half year old to Paris on holiday but little did they know I love this city. Case in point, after a long, rainy day of sight seeing (Arc de Triumph, Notre Dame, Latin Quarter, Shakespeare and Co., Sacre Coeur) and no nap, they took me to this little bistro in the 11^th called La Fee Verte and I had an amazing time.
My parents had some absinthe and other drinks, I stuck with water. My dad loved his steak, he said it was perfectly cooked medium rare and my mom had the croque madam which was much larger than expected. Both came with salad and frites; there was enough food for all three of us to enjoy.
After a bit I accidently tipped the table and spilled some water and broke a glass but the waiter/​bartender cleaned it up with a smile on his face. I told him I was sorry and my dad slipped him an extra 5 € so I don’t think it was too big of a deal to him.
Bottom line, come here to eat or drink and you will be pleased. Au revoir.

We visited La Fee Verte on a rainy Sunday and I was extremely disappointed with their brunch menu. But before we even get to the food, they had one server and one chef so you can see how the service already started out not so great with a lot of wait time.
Out of the four of us, the three of us ordered the 18 EUR brunch menu that came with scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, salad, bacon and potatoes, and a fromage blanc. It would start with some viennoiserie and for drinks a hot drink and a freshly squeezed orange juice. It seemed like it doesn’t matter what the menu tells you is in the brunch though, because every table, depending on when they got to put in their order and get their food, had different contents. The group that got their food as we sat down had these creamy eggs and beautiful array of salad and the group that got their food as we were leaving had some chocolate dessert in their brunch serving. Us?
Well the one girl who had ordered the burger was told after we all got our brunch plate that there were not meat in the kitchen, and they were out getting some. By the time we all finished our brunch, the burger was just being made.
For our brunch, we never received the viennoiserie, the egg was nasty dry, bacon too cooked, and salad plain. The fromage blanc was supposed to come with honey, and when we asked for it, the server showed us the hardened leftover honey in a large empty jar and apologized…
Seriously please save your money and your time.

La première chose qui incite à pousser la porte de la Fée verte c’est son nom, référence à l’absinthe et tout cet univers presque interdit qui semble s’offrir à nous (n’oublions pas que l’absinthe a souvent été accusée de rendre fou !).
La seconde chose, c’est cette super déco digne des vieux bistrots extrêmement bien conservée, avec ces boiseries, ces vieux miroirs et ce très beau bar en bois.
La liste des absinthes disponibles au menu est également très fournie, ça participe au folklore du lieu et nous avons été ravis de pouvoir déguster la nôtre avec sa jolie cuillère à absinthe.
Il y a toutefois un point négatif à la Fée verte: c’est le menu pas très varié et la médiocrité des plats servis. Ce n’était absolument pas mauvais mais on né peut pas dire q’il s’agisse d’une cuisine très savoureuse. Un bon point quand même: le pain venu tout droit de la boulangerie situé sur le trottoir d’en face: fraîcheur garantie !
Je recommande donc le lieu si vous êtes sensibles aux jolis déco et amateurs d’absinthe, mais si vous recherchez une cuisine de qualité, passez votre tour !

On apprécie la décoration, l’ambiance très animée, les vins frais et la cuisine de saison à des prix raisonnables. On peut aussi se laisser tenter par une dégustation d’absinthe, spécialité du lieu.
J’y retourne de temps en temps avec plaisir, pour un verre entre amis autour d’une belle planche, un dîner, un cocktail.

I visited Le Fee Verte for after dinner drinks, with my husband. When we arrived the place was busy but the friendly guy at the door told us to squeeze in at the bar.
The main reason we came to «the green fairy» was to sample the absinthe. Neither of us have tried «proper» absinthe before so asked the barman to suggest the best one.
Even though he spoke little English he pointed out his recommendation and we went for it.
A little later on as the bar cleared out a little we grabbed some stools & moved onto cocktails. The Amaretto sours that we had were the best I have ever tasted! We could have stayed there all night but we had quite a trot home on the metro so thought best to stick to 2, & 1 more absinthe for the road.
We left at around 11 & people were still eating.
The ambience in this place is pretty cool, & chilled out. Considering it is a bar that is Named after one of the most potent alcoholic drinks known to man the people In there were a pleasure to be around.

They stopped serving food early, so we went onto Café Voltaire and came back to try their absinthe. Great selection of absinthe and very friendly service. We came here two nights in a row, during our stay. Nicholas was very accommodating, friendly, and generous, and talked to us, since there were no other customers that late at night. They are also very knowledgeable about which types of absinthe you should try, to the unacquainted American.
No green fairy, but it’s okay. Get drunk enough, and you will think you are one.

Il y a encore deux ans, j’aurais juré que c’était le meilleur endroit de Paris. Mais vraiment, bien que l’endroit conserve tout son charme, et que le personnel reste les cafetiers les plus agréables du quartier, les prix ont largement trop explosés. Rien à déjeuner à moins de 12 euros, même si c’est bon, pour une brasserie de quartier, c’est beaucoup trop. Ou alors, il faut sérieusement penser à s’affirmer en tant que restau… mais là, le cadre et le bruit né colle plus du tout. Bref, c’est un peu dommage. Allez y pour l’absinthe, ou pour traîner au comptoir le matin, pour le reste, cherches un coin plus abordable.

This is a great place to try absinthe for the first time! We were so exhausted once we got here, having spent the whole day in the hot Parisian sun seeing the sights. Also, once we got off the Metro it was a little difficult to find the place because the Metro stop is at the apex of 5 differently-​named roads, so I recommend getting your bearings and make sure you’re headed in the right direction once you get out of the subway. Once we found the place and went inside to our table, though, it was perfect. Casual, Parisian style and comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. We sat down and ordered absinthe as an apéritif and a dinner of beef tartare and a duck/​potato tartine. The waitress double checked that we knew what tartare was (raw beef– which may surprise tourists once it arrives at the table) and we indicated that this was our first absinthe experience. She helped us pick out the type we wanted, and walked us through the process (sugar cube on slotted spoon and drip cold water on tope of it into the glass to release the cloudy flavor) in perfect English and with no pretention. The food was amazing and the absinthe was wonderful as well. It was a great place to sit and relax and enjoy the French way of life. I recommend it, and absinthe, as a must do if visiting Paris. It’s outside of the normal tourist areas and a great little view into the heart of the city.

Les plats sont vraiment très bons, les plats du jour à 9,90EUR sont travaillés, bons et en quantité: on n’a jamais faim quand on sort de la fée verte !
L’équipe est très sympa, moi qui suis plutôt embêtante, je suis toujours bien servie et avec le sourire.
La déco est chaleureuse, ambiance années 20 avec des plantes, il y a toujours un fond musical, bref c’est un endroit génial.
Y aller en couple ou entre amis, c’est toujours un bon moment.

La Fée Verte c’est ma cantine du soir.
Bien que réputée pour sa liste d’absinthes, je n’ai jamais eu le courage d’en commander. La Fée Verte est néanmoins un excellent bistrot. Les plats sont vraiment bon et abordable.
J’ai pour habitude de prendre la planche mixte mais comme je n’aime pas le fromage bleu, je leur demande toujours de changer et ils acceptent sans faire de chichis. Les serveurs sont agréables et attentionnés.
Les salades sont excellentes aussi et je recommande la Terroir qui est absolument délicieuse pour les amateurs de la cuisine du sud.

Une rue passante, pourtant, on se sent comme à la campagne ici. Le service est aimable et bienveillant, à la cool et très vite amical
Le service est plutôt rapide une fois qu’on est assis (arrivés à 22h on a eu 25 min d’attente avant d’avoir une table)
Rien de spécialement végétarien (à part les lasagnes végétariennes que je suis en train d’avoir en horreur, sérieux, tous les bistrots de Paris se sont donnés le mot?) donc j’ai pris deux entrées. Millefeuille de légumes et tomates mozza. Copieux. Savoureux. Avec la douceur de cette soirée et le verre de rosé, on se croyait presque sur les rives de la Méditerranée en vacances!
Doux dépaysement.

We stopped in on a lazy Friday afternoon, in the mood for (what else?) absinthe. The friendly barman handed us the very extensive absinthe menu and we chose a couple we had not had before. We received the water fountain, special spoons, and sugar cubes to make it a full experience. There’s something magical about opening the spigot and watching the sugar melt and the absinthe get cloudy, then relaxing under the Green Fairy’s spell. I could have sat there all evening had there not been a danger of not knowing my name after a few more.

This was one of my favorite meals in Paris. Great little bistro/​bar with some pretty good food. I ended up getting the bone marrow as an appetizer and the beef tartare as the main. I was surprised by the huge portions. The bone marrow was perfectly roasted and probably meant to shared between 2 people. The tartare was excellent as well, much better than the other ones I tried in the city. Overall, a nice bistro that’s moderately priced.

I love love love this bar/​restaurant, and I go back whenever I have an opportunity. For those who haven’t tried absinthe yet, this is a great place to start. Staff is super friendly and I highly suggest their planches (just make sure to get there early, sometimes they run out of them!). Downside: I wasn’t impressed by their dishes. Stick to the salads, appetizers, and absinthe.

Un bistrot au coin de la rue de la Roquette, intérieur typique et terrasse l’été.
Une partie de la terrasse est sur le côté dans une rue à sens unique avec peu de passage et donc assez sympa pour un apéro en terrasse.
Le service est vraiment hyper sympa, le gros plus de cet endroit.
J’ai juste bu un verre mais j’ai vu passer quelques plats qui avaient l’air très bons, notamment une salade avec un gros bout de camembert bien coulant et des pommes de terre sautées et un burger avec des frites maison qui avaient l’air parfait.
Et en plus les prix sont tout plutôt doux.

Une horreur
C’est la 1ère fois que je dépose un com pour un Resto mais là je suis restée choquée. Un brunch entre amies normalement c’est agréable et moi j’y tiens. Que puis-​je dire ss être vulgaire car je suis en colère. 22 € pour un brunch horrible horrible ! Je suis mauvaise cuisinière mais je vous assure que même les yeux fermés je fais mieux. Bref si vous marchez 1 minute de plus il y a d’autres restaurants bien plus sympas et agréables.

Service assez brouillon, cuisson de la viande papillon et assez bruyant …

La Fée Verte … Tout un programme.
J’y suis retourné pour l’ambiance, ses absynthes et un sourire …
Et j’y retournerai, encore…

Un des premiers bistrots que l’on m’a conseillé en arrivant à Paris, et à ce jour jamais déçue. Le menu est varié, équilibré, bon marché et surtout inventif et délicieux. Un plat du jour pour moins de 10 euros est proposé chaque jour, la dernière fois c’était un demi coquelet avec un tatin de tomate et des pommes de terres rissolées vraiment excellentes…
L’ambiance est relax, les serveurs sympas, la déco est agreable, on se laisse facilement charmer par ce bistrot. Ideal si on veut prendre son temps autour d’un café, un diner en amoureux ou avec des amis…

Came here with my boyfriend on a Thursday night and experienced fantastic service at a reasonable price. We went for the absinthe, but the food itself was a highlight! A word of advice for those travelers who are new to absinthe: make sure you do a little research and know what you’re doing with the sugar and water before you show up and find yourself in the same hilarious pickle we did.

Bistrot sympa, le cadre est agréable. Restaurant en forme de U (autour du bar).
J’ai pris un Red Pepper Bacon Burger, qui était bon mais sans être exceptionnel pour le prix! Les frites étaient un peu grillées, dommage!
J’y retournerai pour prendre une lasagne végétarienne qui avait l’air succulente!

L’endroit est charmant: je suis particulièrement sensible à la décoration style art déco.
L’accueil est agréables, les serveurs et serveuses sont souriant (e)s. En bref, on s’occupe bien de nous.
Le choix sur la carte est varié. Pour ma part, j’ai testé le burger (avec tomates confites, gros steak haché de viande de bœuf, oignon etc.) accompagné des pommes frites faites maison.
Les desserts sont aussi très bons !
Les vins proposés la carte sont des vins de propriétaires (gage d’une plus grande attention à la qualité du produit), ce qui est un bon point pour un restaurant !
Je recommande vivement cette brasserie !

Cliente régulière
J’y vais pour un simple diner, fêter un anniversaire, juste boire un verre… et à chaque fois, je suis ravie. Le cadre est vraiment très agréable, le personnel sympathique et disponible, y compris dans les moments d’affluence. Concernant les plats, ils sont assez copieux et bon. En général, je n’arrive pas au dessert (la carte est pourtant alléchante). Pour résumer: allez-​y !

Service bon, les plats arrivent vite, pas trop mal, les. m boissons né sont pas trop cher.
Par contre, je né comprend pas le concept de baisser la lumière au fur et a mesure jusqu’a né plus bien voir le contenu de son assiette …

Consistently good bistrot food, service continu, fair prices, always a warm welcome and an open table make La Fée Verte a safe bet. The salad with (nearly half a wheel of) camembert is my favorite.

Wir sind auf einem ausgedehnten Spaziergang durch Paris zufällig an dieser Ecke vorbei gekommen. Seit diesem Jahr waren wir bei jedem Besuch in Paris bei «der grünen Fee»!
Das Essen, die Gäste und die Atmosphäre an sich, hier passt alles zusammen. Ob auf einen Kaffee oder für ein ausgedehntes Frühstück am Samstag Morgen, einfach perfekt.

Gorgeous little bar/​café/​resto from the 1920s, oozing with art nouveau charm. I’ve only ever started here (for dinner & a drink), so I’m not sure what the drinking scene’s like, but I can tell you that the food is tasty, the vin chaude is well done, and the service is cute and friendly. Gorgeous interiors. Whenever I have tourist friends in town I talk them out of Angelina’s and bring them here. It’s still pretty and Parisian, but less chi-​chi, and more me.
It’s always a good starting point as it’s located on Rue de la Roquette, it’s a neighbor to a handful of great bars you can move on to without disturbign your digestion.

La Fée Verte d’apparence né change pas trop d’un autre bistrot parisien, la seule chose différente est le fait qu’on puisse y trouver plein d’absinthe, et c’est à peu près tout je crois, sauf si on est fan des bistrot qui ont gardé leur intérieur d’antan, et que ça nous influence vachement (des miroirs et une mosaïque au sol)
Sinon ce n’est pas trop cher, le service est agréable et rapide, les petits hors d’oeuvres l’effectue super bien pour grignoter tout en buvant une bière ou un coca.
Je n’ai pas vraiment tester les plats dont je né sais pas si c’est bon ou non, mais ça faisait envie.

Le cadre est vraiment beau, la façade toute en mosaïques mérite le coup d’oeil. A l’intérieur l’Art Déco a fait son oeuvre. La café né désemplit jamais et reste un lieu parfait pour passer un moment convivial d’autant que le service est sympa. Comme le nom le proclame, on peut y tester toutes sortes d’absinthes.
Par contre, je me suis souvent laissée tenter par les plats alléchants aux noms poétiques et je dois dire que j’ai tout aussi souvent été un peu déçue. Les plats sont inventifs mais il y a un je-​né-​sais-​quoi dans sa cuisine qui me laisse toujours insatisfaite.

Je me souviens d’un temps où je venais régulièrement ici boire un verre et voir danser la flamme sur l’absinthe: la fameuse fée verte qui est à l’honneur ici.
On y mange, on y boit, le décors est chaleureux et cosy.
Parce que c’est grand on s’y retrouve entre amis.
Un chouette bar dans un quartier qui bouge. On peut y venir spécialement pour l’absinthe ou pas.

La Fée verte fait référence ni plus ni moins à l’absinthe. Le cadre s’y prête d’ailleurs fort bien avec son zingue, ses banquettes de bois et ses grandes glaces.
La Fée verte, c’est surtout un excellent rapport qualité prix: les brunch sont une petite merveille, le service est parfait et les serveurs (chose non négligeable) sont toujours de bonne humeur.
Le carte suit les tendances du moment tout en les mêlant à une cuisine traditionnelle: Foie gras maison mi-​cuit, Dorade rôtie et risotto de chorizo ou Calamars poêlés aux jus de roquette et piquillos farcis aux girolles, Moelleux au chocolat ou Poire pochée au sirop d’épices pour le dessert.
