Our least favorite dining experience in Paris. While the food was good, we seemed to have been frowned upon for each ordering only one edible item each. I got the delicious filet de cabillaud and my gal pal ordered a foie gras as she needed her fix. The waiter had a micro-second«that’s it?» stance with us, like the place wasn’t largely empty and he didn’t want to bother himself with some lightweight diners. Sorry, man: 10pm is not the time to pack in a ton of food. The ambiance though — I will give them that. Aside from a lovely corner spot with large windows and a quaint basement bathroom, they have a luxurious view of the walkway and I believe the d’Orsay museum. Some lovely structure or other. Despite my broken French, we managed well with the snooty waiter. I’d advise stopping by if you’re ready to order a larger meal. Bön appetit!

This restaurant is supposedly popular to tourists I found but to give 5stars restaurant was not testy enough or good enough. I am normally very generous about giving good stars but this place was not what I was expected. I ordered escargot and duck confit and beef bourgeoning. Price was good but my duck was very disappointing it was little too salty and meat was little tough. Everyplace I go for duck confit was soft n not salty I do understand they make different way but this… Don’t order this. Although potatoes that came with was wow… So good just not duck! Escargot was very good they put lots of spinaches! Beef burgeoning was good not salty meet was very soft n big amount. I do eat more than anybody I know and I was hungry too but to eat heavy french food I suggest 1 starter n one entrance and if u want something more? Order desert

I stopped in here when I couldn’t get into La Voltaire. The staff was so nice and the restaurant wasn’t busy which made it so pleasant and relaxing. I ordered the steak and it was OK. I would go back and get something else though. The location is great and the staff was so nice.

I love them & loved me! And we actually came into this Brasserie to dine later than is customary in Paris. But they were most gracious and accommodating. Our waiter spoke a touch of English but no matter as he was funny and helpful as we needed his suggestions and as an excellent French waiter he was happy to make recommendations. If you don’t know any French or can’t navigate a menu ask for an English menu. Sometimes resturants offer them. Great location and the interior is very beautiful with the high fillings w painted motifs, brass railings, linens and nicer place settings, high windows w a relaxed ambience. Wonderful wines by the glass. The prices here are excellent too! Prix fix or á la cart. The escargot onion soup, duck confit, and ½ chicken w frites were all very good but the steak was well let’s say not like what steak lovers enjoy in the U.S. Location, atmosphere, service and reasonable. A home run.

It was pouring and we were hungry so we stopped. Right along the Seine, between two museums, makes this bistro perfect for a dejeuner and a pause. Even though the place was busy, we were well attended and allowed to take our time. The staff was super friendly to us and courteous to those less respectful patrons. And the food was exactly what we needed: delicious and French. I had delectable duck confit with yummy potatoes and meaty mushrooms. The dish was savory and decadent, simple and satiating. We finished off our extended lunch with a warmed slice of Tarte Tatin topped with a boule of ice cream. The apples were browned and the sugar caramelized for a mature twist. It was a perfect ending as the sweet tart balanced the saltiness of the main. The rose helped as well.

Great place to stop for a glass or wine or a coffee after walking a long the Seine. I sat outside to people watch and had a glass of Chardonnay and a Salade niçoise followed by GREAT cappuccino with plenty of foam. It was really nice to just sit and look around — even though it’s at an intersection — so you get a lot of traffic noise –but its still a good spot and they make really nice food. I wish i knew they had Cassoulet — i didn’t see it till now. well, next time.

We recently came by for dinner on a whim. We had a lovely meal. I came with my mom and my cousin, I’m the only one that spoke French and the waiter was patient enough to let me practice and try to order dinner. We had an assortment of food, we started with bread obviously and French onion soup– very delicious! I’d also suggest the crème brûlée, quite yummy.

After walking along Seine, we were looking at the place to grab some lunch. And found this. The menu had items for adults and kids, and the food was good. Our waiter didn’t speak too good english, but she still tried and was able to get our order right. For a good lunch, I would recommend this. Not too expensive either.

My wife and I had a terrific supper here and could not have been more pleased by the food, the wine and the service… and the pricing. If only all our Paris dining had been this satisfying. Perfectly located too. We will be back tomorrow for breakfast before leaving for airport

Comme di, comme ca. It’s nice to sit across from the Musee D’orsay and near the Seine, but you will pay for it. Both in dollars and taste. mediocre, but recommended by the hotel. The service is indifferent. Our party asked for recommendations, and our waiter just didn’t care. You like beef, order beef. You like fish, you order fish. What kind of fish? Fish, fish is fish. All righty. The duck confit was dry and overlooked, potatoes greasy. Still after a long hard day traveling and two hours in customs, you’re just lucky to be in Paris.

Cassoulet. It was beyond my expectations. I’m back in the States and cannot stop day dreaming about it. We sopped up every last drop with chunks of warm French bread. There was hardly any conversation between my husband and myself once the bowls of piping hot cassoulet were placed in front of us. The fancy Russian family seated next to us had to listen to our endless yummy noises as we devoured our meal. The waitstaff was very good and quite attentive compared to a few other restaurants we dined at while we were visiting Paris. This particular meal was my birthday dinner and it could not have been any more wonderful. I highly recommend La Frégate. We’re two big, nerdy Americans and they gave us the best table in the house with the best people-watching street view of the bridge activity and the Louvre. Heavenly!

This is a five star café, meaning a traditional french café. You look out at the Seine and Louvre. I’ve eaten there in each of my trips to Paris this year. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both times were quite nice. I strongly recommend the duck(margaret de carnard).

The WORST meal I had in Paris. Possibly the worst onion soup I’ve had in my entire life. It was watery, like they deglazed a dirty pot and tried to pass it off as broth. Onions weren’t browned so they offered little flavor. Cheese was bland, salt was lacking. I’ve had way better onion soup in Carmel(patisserie boisserie), San Jose(Left Bank) and Yountville, CA(Bistro Jeanty). Frisée salad aux lardons was watery and the lardons were uninspired little strips of bacon. Nothing special. Steak was overdone, even for medium rare. We thought maybe we just got unlucky, but saw a gentleman a few tables over also sawing away at his steak. Frites weren’t crispy, but limp. We still had hope that dessert(apple gâteau) would be good, but when it arrived that hope instantly vanished. It was ice cold, like it barely had enough time to defrost before being cut and plunked down on our table. It had no flavor whatsoever and was bland, bland bland. Overall, a horrible meal. I wanted to ask for my dinner appetite back so I could have a do-over elsewhere. Do NOT come here just because it’s close to the Orsay or Lourve! Don’t make the same mistake we did, unless you want infuriatingly bland food! I’m convinced that the closer a restaurant is located to a tourist attraction, the worse the food.

We ducked into this restaurant simply because it was pouring rain and it was right there. But we ended up having a great mini meal of onion soup and brie. The onion soup is probably the best I have ever had– all bubbly and cheesy and bready YUM The inside of the restaurant is really beautiful with painted ceilings. We found the wait staff to be very friendly and English-speaking.

This is where I go for a glass of wine in the afternoon when I don’t go to Le Depart. They have a baccus, which I can’t spell, but I can drink. It is a glass that is about a half bottle of wine, so I am always glad that I don’t have a car when I live in paris. Their onion soup is good better than Le Depart but not nearly as good as at Café du Metro(which I haven’t reviewed yet). Like Le Depart, Frégate is on the river, in this case, at the end of Pont Royal and, therefore, right across from Le Louvre. The picture I uploaded is their logo carved into the zinc of one of their tables.

My friend had her wedding rehearsal dinner here. We had a 30+ person space to ourselves, but it was still rather public and not good for toasts or anything like that. The food was good, but a month later, I can’t even remember most of what we ate. It was good but didn’t blow any of us away. The frog legs were good but not the best, a few too many bones. The salmon was the best portioned dish. However, what we do remember is that our wine glasses were always full, and the service was stellar.

La Fregate has become our home away from home. We stop off before returning to out hotel at night for a drink or wine and cheese plate. The traditional French fare is excellent. The service is good depending upon who you get. If you are outside, there may be a chance they forget about you. Especially in the winter. But overall, a great place. It would be like your favorite diner in the US.

Solid, delicious meal in a great location. Right around the corner from Musée d’Orsay and right across the Seine from the Louvre. We were particularly lucky because the full moon was up above the Louvre. Overall solid, good French restaurant food. We has oysters(which were very good, prepared well), steak poivre with pommes frites, and an amazing cassoulet. If you;re thinking about something, the cassoulet was fantastic with preserved duck, lamb, two kind of sausage, and lots of deliciousness. The waitstaff had the expected French condescension, at our barbarism but did a good job getting us set up and taking care of us and overall making us feel like there there to serve us and give us a good time.
