Very expensive. You gotta have a microscope to find truffles. Ordered ravioli with truffles and it was a simple, albeit very expensive pasta.

If you fancy yourself a fan of the culinary truffle then I bring good news — you just found your mecca. Make pilgrimage with much haste. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? There are few things I love more than when a restaurant fully embraces their culinary calling, and I’ll strongly argue that no restaurant I’ve been to this year does a better job of this than La Maison de la Truffe, the focal truffle gathering since the early 20th century. Right from the get-go you’re thrown into a whole new world of truffle goods ranging from the traditional oils to more elaborate mixes of fois gras, and garnishes. Once you’ve decided that yes, you should very much like to dine here, the service is kicked up to a whole new level, with professional staff and a quaint atmosphere that will make absolute certain that you leave satisfied and then some. I strolled in on a Saturday afternoon and waited only 20 or so minutes for a table, which was surprising considering there’s maybe only seating for 20 people total. I imagine this is very much not the case when dinner time rolls around. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? You’re exposed to a whole spectrum of menu items and associated prices when you pop open the menu at La Maison de la Truffe, so you can either get away with a great dish on the cheap or splurge a bit with some of the triple-digit offerings. I decided to balance things a bit, and on the recommendation of the server decided to go with the Tagliatelle instead of the Risotto with shavings of the mid-tier black truffle. The damage came to only € 42, which I was more than happy to pay given the quality of the dish and the quantity of the truffles. Had I instead gone with the seasonal truffles I would have paid only € 27, which is more than reasonable. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? What a dish. I’ll admit, this wasn’t quite as good as the Truffle Pasta dish I had at all-time favorite Parisian restaurant East Mamma( ), but it was certainly worthy of five-star praise. The pasta was perfect, and the truffle cream sauce was balanced and flavorful without falling into the common trap of being ruined by salt. The truffles were generously portioned, and everything came together in a way that admittedly had me wishing the dish was just a tad bit larger. Marvelous. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? I love everything about culinary truffles, and La Maison de la Truffe defines them justly. Star Granted.

Only one reason to go there — truffles. Smart place, infused with the odor of truffes. Truffle oil served to soak bread seriously aromatic. But omelettes, even with ample helping of the famous fungus, a bit stodgy and the accompanying salad uninspired. Possible that the tagliatelle better. V nice half bottle of Sancerre

It is an establishment that my wife and I make a point to stop in to eat when we are in Paris. I’ve been to this restaurant at least 3 times over the years. The service is great and the truffle that goes with everything is top notch. The first time we visited, we made reservations; however afterward, we just show up early when they just open for dinner(usually on a weekday evening) and we were seated promptly without any issues. Some dishes I usually get when I visit and would recommend: Scambled Eggs with Truffle, Tagliatelles with Truffle and Truffled Cream, Risotto with Truffle, Duck Foie Gras, Beef Tartare. Usually would get these dishes with Black Truffle added! This most recent trip, our server Julianne(if spelled correctly, also a big fan of OG West Coast Rap) informed us to go with the white truffle since it was fresher. However, personally we still like black truffle more; I think it brings out the flavors much better. The service and food is top-notch. Great restaurant with great food. For truffle lovers, this is a place I would highly recommend!

Oh… my…gaaaaawd. My mouth is still watering, months after my last meal here. Simply put: go eat here! And don’t be afraid to try the truffle panna cotta. If you like truffles, this place is a little shave of heaven.

Minnie M. said she totally regretted not buying the truffle oil here, and I am a man that learns from not only my own, but from other people’s mistakes. So we bought three bottles. Holy amazing smell in this place. Even if you’re not going to eat here, walk inside and stand there for 10 seconds. If you like truffle — or truffe, as they want to spell it here — you will die. OK. You won’t die. I hope. I mean, it’s totally possible that you could die but I would assume it would be a major coincidence. I hope you like truffles. Everything here can come with truffles on it. Beef carpaccio. with truffles. Veal filet mignon… with truffles. Whatever my wife ordered… with truffles. Bread…with truffle olive oil. Little chocolates when the bill comes… with truffles. Jukebox in the lobby… with only Truffle Butter as a song choice. Loved it here. Best meal in Paris that I’ve had. Will definitely go back the next time I’m here. Or there. As in Paris. Because I am now back in LA. So here is not there. JFYI.

We were very impressed with the truffle expert at this restaurant. He was excited to show us the newest ones that had come in and invited us to smell and look at the different types of whites and blacks. The meal was enjoyable but surprisingly the truffle flavor did not come across very well in our dishes even though there was generous helpings of the truffle shavings on top. The food was delicious but we expected a bit more truffle flavor.

If u like truffles, this place is amazing. All the dishes can be ordered with or without truffles. I had the crab appetizer with avocado which was delicious followed by the boot tournados with foie gras and truffle which was amazing. Lastly, I had the truffle ice cream. I hope to not eat truffles again for the next couple of years but it really was amazing.

I totally regret not buying the truffle olive oil here. I’m regretting it so badly. I would DRINK this olive oil. We ordered the tagliatelle and steak both with truffle, which was about 10 euros more expensive, so about 50 each dish. There was a generous serving of truffle, we both left full and very satisfied. They also sell truffle cheese which I totally wish I had bought as well.

One of the most amazing dining experiences. A simple, no-fuss-no-muss dinner with good food and excellent service. The restaurant serves dishes with 3 types of truffles. I recommend dishes with all 3. My husband and I shared an app and 2 entrees which was the perfect amount of food. Wine prices are reasonable, $ 50 – 60 per bottle. We accidentally spilt a glass of water on our steak filet — right after it came out. The staff ran over, took the plate back to the kitchen, and remade the plate, replacing all the truffles. They are committed to a positive, enjoyable dining experience. Not a pretentious place. It’s quiet, romantic, and unbelievably delicious.

We stumbled upon this restaurant wandering our hotel neighborhood, and before going in we checked the reviews. I had mixed feelings given some of the reviews, but the scent was so enticing that we decided to give it a go. And I’m so glad we did! It’s ALL about the truffle here. The truffle olive oil had such an intoxicating aroma and delicious taste that I had to stop myself with the bread and the oil and the«more bread» and the«more oil». I came back the next day to buy a few bottles to share with folks at home. The tagliatelle with truffle was, of course, amazing. My husband went the sans truffle route and ordered the ray fish with herbed mashed potatoes. He really enjoyed it and said it reminded him of his mother’s French cooking growing up. Go on, give it a try.

Ahh I was quite disappointed with my experience here. Not because of the service, no no that was great — but it was because of the food. I had made reservations in advance and was really hoping for some black truffles but that wasn’t to be. Unfortunately, we came here and to France a few weeks before the truffle season(poor foresight on our part I suppose). Anyhow, I ordered the risotto with shaved summer truffles and my boyfriend ordered the ravioli stuffed with truffle. Both our food was mediocre at best and over priced. A word on summer truffles. I have had fresh black truffles before and there is nothing in the world better than fresh black truffles. Summer truffles on the other hand are very mild and chewy. If I was to give an analogy, I would say it’s like comparing the most tender wagyu beef with beef crumbles that are added in a Taco Bell burrito and I am not exaggerating.(I know, interesting analogy for a vegetarian you must be thinking — but I’m surrounded my meat eaters!) My recommendation — only come here if you are coming in truffle season and even then I would recommend trying some other places in the city. This place is way too overpriced.

Mmmm Yummy! As I walked into La Maison de la Truffe, I was mesmerized by the selection of Foie Gras and Truffles, as well as the strong smell of the Truffles! I found that the staff at this location was more friendly, welcoming, and even more knowledgeable. Perhaps it’s because this location has been around for much longer. This location has a smaller dining room but a larger selection of things to purchase to take home(Foie, Truffles, etc.) at their little«bar» area on the left side. They also make sandwiches served to-go style only, at the bar side — with foie, truffle, or truffle oil, within a 10−14euro range. Great for the foodie on a budget! An amazing establishment that should not be missed!

We had a wonderful lunch here. I heard about this from a video by Andrew Zimmern of the Food Channel. My wife had the pasta and I had the French omelet both topped with shoved truffles. It was delicious and the staff were really very nice and helpful. If you like truffles, it’s worth the visit.

On a warm summer’s day in Paris, under the naturally crystalline sparkle of a sunshower, I fell in love. After an endless procession of sandwiches, after all the cheese steaks, po boys, lobster rolls, burgers, wraps, rock stars(just kidding on this one, but I bet you’re paying attention now, eh?), paninis and grinders, I finally met my perfect match. The Foie Gras de Canard sandwich at La Maison de la Truffe(13 Euros) with liberal shavings of seasonal truffles and a golden drizzle of truffle oil on a perfect baguette has my tastebuds on lockdown. And after that magical afternoon in Paris, I know that although I will continue to have liaisons with other sandwiches, I now have my yardstick for comparison. The sandwich was made to order with exceptional service and a lot of care. While waiting, I tried the truffle & caramel vodka(amazing) and admired the other products. If you were looking to pack the most decadent truffle-themed picnic ever, this is the place to go! From white truffle cream to foie gras with truffle to truffle caviar to fresh truffle shavings and multiple truffle cheeses, this place has it all! PARTINGTHOUGHT: We didn’t have time this trip, but I’m definitely reserving a meal at the restaurant next time I’m in town!

I didn’t get a chance to eat here — but they had some killer take-away sandwiches for a reasonable price. Only available on weekdays though. What I did walk away with was a delicious parmesan truffle cream spread! They had a four items to sample when I was there — a white olive oil, black olive oil, truffle tapenade, and the parmesan truffle cream. While the truffle oils are more aromatic than the usual, it still just tastes like oil in the end. But the parmesan truffle cream is addictive — I regret not buying extra jars! I hope they get their online store up and running soon!
