First time in Paris and went here based on reviews. The food is great. Very authentic and delicious… Fantastic lamb dishes. What makes the place great is the wait staff who are so over the top friendly that it doesn’t even matter that we don’t speak a single common word. I was blown away when the manager literally walked me down the block to show me where the nearest ATM was. Such a nice guy! I will definitely come back on our next trip here

Delicious treat off the Main Street! My husband and I ate at le Berbere after reading reviews in Unilocal and were not disappointed. I ordered a vegetarian couscous and my husband ordered meat. The waiter brought a huge serving of couscous to share and we each got a separate dish of vegetables and sauce to pour over the couscous with his meat on the side. The service was terrific. Enjoy!

Our second time here during our stay in Paris! That’s how good this place is and it’s not just the food. It’s the locals the frequent the restaurant, the ambiance and the reception you get from the owner when you enter. It feels good to be back! Due to the copious amounts of food, we decided to share a Brick Kefta as an entrée. I had the Tagine Kefta(lamb meatballs with onions and egg) and my husband had the Couscous Berbere. They were both excellent(of course)! We finished with some Baklava an I had some of their excellent Mint Tea! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone at any time! What a wonderful place to dine at and one of the places I would miss dearly. Till next time…

Everything about this place I loved! The owner knows our friends who live in Paris, so that is always a good first impression. We sat at the window in this little lookout area onto the street, this area was so sweet because it had curtains that could be pulled across if your party filled the two table space. The owner was funny and entertaining and laughed and joked with us and all of his customers, he had that great quality of making everyone feel special. I saw couples, groups and whole families eating here. I ordered the chauchokra(sp) to start, it’s like a tomato based vegetable dish with a fried egg in the middle. My friend’s Mom from Morocco cooked this for me in Boston and this was just as yummy. For my main I got the chicken tagine which was cooked to perfection with vegetables and white raisins and the chicken was so tender it fell off the bone. I have no idea what spices they use in this dish, but it was probably the best meal I had in Paris. My boyfriend had the cous cous with all sorts of meat and this came with a big bowl of broth and vegetables, which tasted really amazing too. I loved everything about this place, even down to the little napkins. We had a bottle of wine that complimented the whole meal and we shared desserts and mint tea that was poured«long» by the waitress. We were welcomed and treated so well here, I would definitely like to come back here to experience it again.

What a terrific restaurant! Found this gem during my last trek to Paris and went in for lunch. Really glad we did! It’s in the 12th arrond. — away from the tourist areas(yea!). Wonderful, fresh-prepared Moroccan food. The service was friendly & helpful. Great atmosphere. GO!

While I was alone in Paris I stayed near the Gare Du Lyon. Not a popular place to stay, but perfect for the lone traveler who wanted authentic Parisian experience. Every evening I would pass this restaurant on the way back to my hotel. I saw magical things going on at the tables outside and inside. The place was something from my dreams. People sitting outside feasting on whole meats, cous cous, carafes of wine, rose water teas served in interesting foriegn metal objects, smoking clay pots, lush colors and fragances I have never ever smelled before. Needless to say, I was kicking myself over and over again after I left to go to Provence, and didn’t get to eat at this place. Luckily, about a month later my husband met me, and I had an opportunity to take him there for lunch. Even though it wasnt dark out, and it didn’t have the same ambiance, it was everything and more that I could have asked for. I have never had morrocan food. Thai was the new frontier for me up tot his point, and I am always searching for new tastes to get addicted too. This did me in. We ordered something called a Tajine, which is a clay pot with a pyramid on top of it. What you do is layer lamb, vegetables, almonds, prunes and whatever else they put into that and put it into an oven. They bring the entire thing to your table. Our waiter was amazing. Not letting us order too much. They are large portions. Almost everything is accompanied by a small grain cous cous served with white raisons. The tower of desserts(we did not get) looked so amazing, and I LOVED my rose water tea served in the mini metal pot. We had a carafe of wine also that was very nice. Prices range for lunch from 8 Euro to 16. Not to bad at all. Such an experience. We went back twice for lunch, I am determined to go back to Paris just to go for dinner and have that magical experience outside like I saw everyone else having. If I could give this place 10 stars I would.
