I honestly don’t understand the hype for this place. This is the first meal we had in Paris on a recent trip and we made a reservation a month in advance, and sadly it did not live up to to expectations. The ambience is pretty cool, particularly if you can get a table under the dome. The artwork is interesting and the walls change colors every few minutes. We had a steak served with garlic mashed potatoes and red mullet with artichoke purée. Of these, the mashed potatoes were the best part. I asked for the steak medium rare and there was absolutely no hint of pink. The mullet was tasteless and the artichoke purée was salty and kind of off-putting(I have no idea what artichoke purée is supposed to taste like, so maybe that’s what it tastes like). There are far better restaurants in Le Marais, especially in this price range.

Excellent food, good service, cute waiters. The fish is super fresh, but don’t miss dessert. The chocolate bomb is da’ bomb. The space is LA/Paris chic. Definitely would go back.

This I do not like as we BOOKED before table ! for me Time is money … for person who can not waiting who in rush I do not say«YESGO» ! We order chicken in lunch menu(by the way we did not like it so much(TRYSOMETHINGANOTHER)…wine… ice cream for dessert ! Simple … Nothing special! Plus for atmosphere and good waiters … I think I will come back to try dinner menu in the evening;))) Ps: it seems like«COSTES» a little bit!

Truly beautiful place, perfectly maintained with a trendy décor. The food is very good. I had a little incident at the beginning when they brought me some sub standard pastries as part of the brunch setting but the situation was addressed after an initial complaint. The rest of the meal and time there were very enjoyable. Would have ranked it higher if the pastries were better but at least they said they will consider improving on that.

Quelle honte!

A friend took us to this place last December when we were in the Marais. The interiors speaks of Marie-Antoinette-meets-The-Queen-of-Elizabeth. It is in the heart of the Marais, not far from Rue des Rosiers, maybe 5 minute walk. So it is near a lot of things to see and do. I never would have guessed what the interior would be like, but the name of the restaurant says it all… it is a dome! We just stepped in late one evening for some tea and desserts, which were all very delicious. The only thing negative I can say is that it was a bit pricey.

I wanted to take my companion here for dinner while we were in Paris, as I have heard only good things about this place. It’s a former pawnshop, and the dining experience is equally made fabulous not only by the food that is served, but also by the ambiance of the place. We arrived about 6:30 in the evening, and since we didn’t have a reservation, we were afraid that there wouldn’t be a table open. Fortunately, there was, and while we waited about half an hour at the lobby since the kitchen doesn’t open until 7:00, when it did we were seated promptly. The wait staff was professional and service was impeccable. People can speak English here, and they were very knowledgeable in the menu. My companion and I opted to stay within the starters, ordering three of them as a three-course meal, and they explained every detail of what we are getting. My companion especially appreciated this as he had a few food restrictions which the staff was more than willing to take into consideration. Should I also say that the food was divine? It was perfect. The wine recommendations were also superb. What did I order here? I started with the 6 oysters, fresh and served on a bed of ice. The accompanying vinegar sauce was great. They also provided hand napkins for the finish. I followed that by the soft boiled egg which was very delicate and sublime. Finally, I had the fois gras with miso paste as a final dish. It was quite a memorable dinner indeed. This place is surely something that I would remember quite well for years to come.

This is a lovely setting in the Marais. Really beautiful inside. I took my girlfriend here for a romantic evening — thank goodness she’s a good sport. Service was horrible and food was just o.k. Bad value for price point. I don’t know what this waitress’ problem was, but it was not typical of the service you get in French restaurants generally. Yes, the dining pace in France is slower than the USA. I like that and adjust easily. But four tables were seated and their drink orders taken before the waitress even approached our table. She was surly and lacking in any warmth or concern about our needs. We saw her for drink and food order and then she never returned. Someone else brought our food. She never checked on our satisfaction. Never offered refills for drinks. My girlfriend had to fake a visit to the toilet and essentially accost her on the floor to get her to stop by and take our drink order. Getting the check was even harder. Other patrons and waiters noticed our difficulty, but did nothing to assist. I would definitely not recommend this place or choose to return.

Nice place in the old Marrais.

We had lunch at this beautiful restaurant. No reservations, so we were glad they could accommodate us. We had just main dishes, although you could order a 2 or 3 course meal for what I thought were reasonable prices! I had the fish special with buerre blanc sauce and on top of wilted spinach. and my spouse had the chicken with field mushrooms in a red wine demi glaze sauce. I don’t think I’ve had chicken so good! The skin was crispy and maintained is crispness throughout the meal. My fish was crusted ever so slightly with butter. When I saw the dishes, I thought that they would be heavy and rich, but to my surprise, they both were extremely light and easy to digest. I would attribute this to the local and bio ingredients used to prepare these dishes. Compliments to the chef! Staff were attentive and extremely nice. We will definitely dine at this restaurant the next time we’re in Le Marais!

It was late and we wanted something to eat, so we found a place and asked the taxi driver to take us there, but as it usually works the place was closed for August(as many other places in Paris in August). So we asked the driver to take as some place of his choice, some place to impress us. I wish i could find that driver and tip him more on top of whatever I’ve already gave him. This place is so far on the top of my list for the finest places to dine in Paris. We’ve orders several dishes and all of them were outstanding. The presentation was also on top. The place was a nice mix of modern and classic. This is one of the few places we would go back and try something else.

My family and I had a lovely dinner here. It helps that someone else paid, but I’ve had much worse food in Paris for only a bit less money. The setting is lovely and quiet(not always easy to find), and the food was nicely done all around. The menu was interesting, and the deserts were great. Our waitress was nice and helpful, but service is not something that I have strong opinions about. Seemed fine to me.

Food was quite delicious. They brought out the zucchini soup as soon as we sat down and it was great. We ordered the dumplings which were pretty tasty. For entrees, I had the pigeon, which I’d highly recommend. The other people I dined with ordered the seared beef which she really enjoyed and the mussels, which he actually wasn’t too fond of. But overall I’d say it was a great experience and they were also very attentive to us despite us not knowing french.

One of my favorite restaurants in Paris. The menu is very diverse and you can always start with the burrantina or the foie gras. Also, the menu changes every once in a while which is good if you go often like. It’s in the heart of le marais and you can go shopping on rue Francs Bourgeois. The staff is very amicable and the owner are always around helping out.

The setting is amazing, the service perfect, the prices… High, and the food is mostly forgettable(to be nice) it seems there is a trend going that expensive restaurants do not need to serve nice food, just have nice decoration, amazing settings if possible, good waiting staff, but food restaurants that are half the price wouldn’t dare serve. This is very much the case here. You pay for the settings and the attention, but don’t expect to eat anything you couldn’t cook at home

I first came here a few months ago after a dear friend and well seasoned traveler recommended it. Had a great evening. As I was about to come to Paris again I mentioned to my friend I planned on dining here again. He said, «don’t»! Being the independent sort I did anyway last night… but now I know what he meant… service is zilch. I poured every glass of water and wine I drank and never was asked how i liked my food. Only after literally putting my water and wine bottles precariously ½ way off the table did someone stop by. I’m generally not a whiner, but the service was so truly off that I had to both say something to them(twice in one evening, with no change in service) and write something up here.

I hear this place used to be a brothel, but it doesn’t entirely look like it could effectively accommodate the needs of a brothel… Nonetheless, wow is this place beautiful. When you walk in, you go through a darkened foyer where you’re greeted by the host/hostess. You then walk through a small garden and into the dome, where it is kept very well and garnished with mementos from old French films. The service was great, and the food is certainly satisfying. I ate beef tartare almost everywhere I visited while in Paris, so I did the same here. The food is certainly satisfactory, and in a city where dining is expensive, you don’t want to waste the limited number of meals you have. This place certainly helps the cause.

Worst service I have ever experienced in Paris. Young and inexperienced waitstaff. They brought me the wrong entrée! I had to ask for another glass of wine and bottle of water as they didn’t offer. Décor was nice, but beware as they seat foreigners near the banging kitchen door which ruined the entire experience. Food was twice as expensive as Constant and Camborde restaurants and mediocre. Best part about the restaurant was the ambiance, although the waitstaff all seemed to congregate and chat in the middle between the two rooms. I would not recommend the restaurant and would never go back.

Whatever is a girl to do??? After planning an afternoon of meandering around the less well known sites of the Marais, I knew I had to find a suitable reward for all our exploring. What better reward than a delicious meal in said part of Paris… well it’s easier said than done at certain times of year. Everywhere I looked were little homemade signs saying see you at ‘la rentree’…and then I remembered, it’s August… nothing is open in Paris! But Paris by Mouth came to our rescue with a brilliant list of openings, and we discovered Le Dome du Marais, which was not only open but welcomed us with open arms. It turned out to be a perfect solution. Located a few doors down from the Credit Municipal(oldest pawn shop in France — ), which I am sure is fascinating when it’s open — the dreaded August hits again — The Dome du Marais is as impressive as it is hospitable. We were delighted with our experience — pleasant hosts, discreet service, absolutely delicious food and lovely décor. I had the lamb two ways, which I highly recommend. Sweet and tender, the ‘selle’ had perfectly crispy edge, and the chops were pink and moist. Sadly, it’s not the sort of place one is allowed to chew on bones, so I refrained and finished up instead the rather scrumptious ratatouille that accompanied the lamb. N had the whole fish on simple vegetables with a lemon foam. Elegant and tasty. If like us, once you are seated, you begin to admire the Dome above you and discover it’s less than pristine, the paint peeling slightly, don’t worry — it’s all part of the charm of this place. The décor may not be as pristine and perfect as it looks in the photos, but the clever lighting, tweeting canaries(really!) and smartly dressed waiters remind you you are in a ‘nice’ restaurant, and the food more than makes up for it. We finished the meal off with the speculoos cheesecake, which was excellent,(although still doesn’t compete with La Maison Mere’s incredibly rich version with a hint of lime) and as we made our way back out onto the streets of Paris we realised we’d missed the rain storm that had been brewing all day, and we thanked the Dome to Marais again. We’ll be back for more hospitality and shelter, and maybe outside of August this time…
