Le General

A nice place for lunch near the Arc de Triomphe. Broad menu. Caters to many tourists but the options range broadly. Good service.

Service désolant, pas un serveur pour rattraper l’autre. Cependant les planches sont bonnes et la terrasse est bien chauffée.

Indifferent service even by Paris standards. Food was bland. Ordered prosciutto and it was dried out to the point it looked like beef jerky. Worst meal I’ve ever had in a city where even the simplest food is awesome.
Good location. Probably a better place for drinks.

Pretentieux et surfait. Service inefficace et désagréable.
15 minutes pour un café et une menthe à l’eau… pas un bonjour, pas un merci.

Super Frühstück und nettes Personal! Auch bei kaltem Wetter kann man sehr gut draussen sitzen, da geheizt wird! Wir haben uns willkommen gefühlt!

Le Général se détache des autres restaurants de la place de l’étoile.
Moins bondé que les autres, le service est au petit soin.
De plus les plats sont vraiment bons. Les burgers sont faits maisons et délicieux. De même que les desserts. Aujourd’hui, j’ai pris la tarte aux fraises accompagnée d’une chantilly maison. Un vrai régal.
Par contre, ça a un prix … Les plats sont entre 17 et 30 e et les desserts entre 8 et 10 €

This café was right next to our hotel and we loved it. After long days sightseeing and walking around it was the perfect place for whatever we needed before heading back to the hotel. Dinner or light fare or wine or cheese or coffee… everything was delicious. Highly recommend especially over the other spots in the neighborhood.

Au général on propose un service «de luxe» en terrasse sur l’avenue Mac Mahon.
La terrasse est belle, et l’idée est vraiment de créer un lieu «matuvu». C’est plutôt réussi dans ce sens. Par contre, les prix sont beaucoup trop élevés.
Le burger a 17e est «pas mal» sans être dingue (à moins que vous kiffiez manger du pain all the time)
Le café gourmand à 10 euros est léger…
Bref, profitez en pour vous prélasser (et encore y a pleins d’autres endroits dans le coin) mais pas pour diner.

Le General was recommended to me by a nice lady at my hotel. She said that it was better than other places in the area for Breakfast. We tried the set breakfast with just a croissant and a small piece of French baguette. The croissant was very good but the bread was quite tough. The café Americano was so good that I had to order a second cup. My main problem with this place was that it took forever to get us the check but this was far from the only place that I had that problem in Paris.
The next night we were looking for a place to eat a late dinner and just happened by this place. We were coaxed into eating here by a very friendly and energetic waiter who hailed from Morocco. We had a bottle of wine and the duck breast. The duck was outstanding! The waiter mistakenly thought that I ordered one order for my wife and another order for myself when in fact I had intended to split the duck. That mistake turned out to be a good one because my wife and I would have probably fought over that delicious duck like a couple of hyenas.
All in all, a pretty good place.
