Made In Italy

Walked by this place and there was a person advertising outside and «fighting» for customers with the other Italian restaurant across the street, which really put me off the place as it felt like such a tourist trap. However, when I saw the arancini in the window, I had to get some. And I’m very glad I saw past the would-​be-​touristy outside, as it was delicious!
I had one of the arancini with mozarella (~4e), some potato/​cheese fried sticks (~4e), my boyfriend had some fried pocket of dough with ragu (~4e), and we shared a sandwich made in a large flat bread (~7e). The fried potato sticks were meh, but the rest was DELICIOUS. Mmmmmm. I was in Italy a few months ago and this took me back to then!
I really appreciated the large variety: fried appetizers, pasta, salads, pizza, non-​fried appetizers, etc. They even had a chocolate-​stuffed sfogliatella which I regret not being hungry enough to eat, I’ll be back for it!
I saw none of the potential cleanliness issues the others mentioned, great (italian!) server, clean tables, etc.
4 stars instead of 5 because I found the price a little high, although it’s fair for the area, and because it wasn’t *quite* as good as those in Napoli… but at this point I’m nitpicking. ;)

I was taking a late night stroll down Montorgueil near the Châtelet subway exit, and happened by Made In Italy for some food window shopping. When you’re as hungry as I was and see paninis, beignets salé et pleins de trucs bons à ajouter aux salads, you just drool and hand over money.

I wanted something simple and cheap and so I picked up a panini (5,50 €) packed with flavor. It was chicken, cheese, and veggies. The bread was slightly thick, not like a traditional panini but still fantastic. Sitting inside eating, I think getting a pizza would have been a better option.

Petit traiteur italien ouvert tard le soir et sur le chemin de la maison ! C’est bien pratique après une séance de ciné et une grosse flemme culinaire.
L’endroit n’est pas foufou mais ils ont de bons produits. On craque généralement pour un énorme arrancini accompagné d’un panini du jour. Le salades sont préparées avec les produits frais en rayon et elles sont copieuse ! Sinon vous pouvez aussi prendre une grosse part de pizza.
Il y a un assez grand rayon de desserts/​boissons et le service est rapide et efficace. Je né reste jamais manger sur place par contre, c’est pas jojo ! Ou alors en terrasse quand le temps le permet.

Un dimanche après midi nous nous arrêtons pour prendre des pizzas. Dur de choisir entre les deux italiens qui se font face en proposant chacun leur degustations aux passants.
Nous rentrons dans le made in italie, le choix de focaccia est grand, au fond un choix entre 6 pizza (thon, vegetarienne, vinde…). Les serveurs ont eu beaucoup de mal à nous servir et se parlaient mal entre eux. Sans personnes devant nous, nous avons attendu 15min nos pizzas.
Celles-​ci étaient extremement grasses, au point de né pas pouvoir finir la part. Les patisseries sont surgelées et vraiment pas bonnes. Pour une grande gourmande je n’en ai prise qu’une bouché.
Bref une part de pizza + boisson =9 €.

Great staff: friendly and helpful
The panini that I had was very good. Kind of a chicken parmigiana, sun-​dried tomato thing inside.
I’m not sure if the tarte citron was factory/​industrial or not but it was still good… not too sweet and nicely tart.
Obviously touristy, but the experience was still a good one… and for the price (~9 € for the panini, dessert and drink), to be repeated…

I’m not feeling very generous and this place wavers in my mind 2 – 3 stars. I can’t really get a grasp on how big of a tourist trap this place is on the famous rue montorgueil. The place feels new, with clean and bright atmosphere and some fresh and some stale food on display. The stale food are not to be served, but for an understanding of what it looks like (e.g., pasta). If you feel like the stale display foods don’t catch your attention, don’t expect the fresh food to be much better. Imagine frozen pasta boxes warmed up in microwave for 11 EUR. That about explains it.
Their menu signs hung behind the display case is confusing. Not all the stuff is on there. I wanted a cocktail from the full bar in a section at the back, but i have no idea what they serve and what the servers knows how to make — considering they didn’t speak english either in this tourist trap, i did not want a half baked conversation on cocktail names that are barely universal in english speaking countries.
Speaking of their servers — they stay behind the display case and are supposed to provide you with food and charge you. Unfortunately, they have no system. My boyfriend and i were wandering up and down the display case with no other patrons in sight, and the two girls behind the counter served us separately just as some other patrons came into the joint. Then everything became chaotic. I asked for pasta and artichokes for appetiser while my boyfriend asked for the pizza. Then we both stood on opposite end of the long display case waiting for our server to provide us with food while other people overcame us and the servers started helping other people. We had no idea what the next step was and they were too busy to tell us.
Finally my boyfriend’s pizza was ready and the server waved him over to pick it up — he tried to pay and she said no you can pay later. He went to sit down with his tray without any utensils and im still standing in the other corner confused. It took us a long time to finally get plastic utensils. I finally went to join him after getting tired of being swarmed by non-​mannered parisians and tourists alike, and now my server is confused because she thinks i’ve disappeared on her. When my pasta was ready (it was terrible) she waved me down and i took the tray and went to the table — i think she was confused cuz she wanted me to pay and i thought i was supposed to pay later like my bf.
After we finished our food, we paid and left and one of them waved us down and asked us politely if we paid yet. It’s a pretty terrible system.
The focaccia is probably saved this place from a 1 star review now that i’m going over the events. It’s not expensive and pretty good. But overall, our bill was 20 EUR and we were neither full nor happy. I would not come back.

Il est plus de 15 heures, nous errons ma collègue et moi de rendez-​vous pro en rendez-​vous pro, nous n’avons toujours pas mangé et n’avons qu’une demi-​heure devant nous…
Par chance, nous tombons sur Made In Italy.
Et là, la faim nous tiraillant, le choix est rude!
Parts de pizza, focaccia, arancini, panini ou encore salades garnies de mozzarella … tous plus appétissants les uns que les autres avec des ingrédients qui rappellent vraiment le soleil de l’Italie.
Nous jetons notre dévolu sur quelques mets et né regrettons en aucun cas notre choix.
A déplorer toutefois: la salle qui n’est pas des plus agréable, si vous avez le choix, prenez à emporter et le service pas de super conseil ou amabilité.
Mais sinon, j’aimerais beaucoup avoir ce Made In Italy au pied de mon bureau pour avoir l’occasion de tester toutes leurs spécialités!

Une petite trattoria à l’accueil sympathique.
Vous trouverez des pizzas (à la coupe), des focaccia ou des salades avec mozzarella entre autres qu’on compose soi-​même.
Les formules avec des pizzas sont à moins de 10 €, mais né sont pas adaptées aux gros appétits (les pâtes sont très fines et la part n’est pas très grande). Une part est à un peu moins de 4 €.

Made In italy, ce petit traiteur italien me rappelle les douces saveurse la-​bas!
Le concept esttrès sympa: un choix de fou et des produits de bases de très bonne qualité!
Leur bar à mozzarella est juste terrible! Il vous permet de composer votre salade perso tout en mettant la mozzarella en avant!
Seul bémol, il y a tellement de choix qu’on a facilement besoin de 10 bonnes minutes pour se décider! Mais les gentilles baristas (serveuses) sont tellements adorables et patientes qu’ont fini tout de même par trouver notre bonheur!
Leurs petits sandwichs tout chauds, croustillants et bourrés de saveurs étaient à tomber! Et j’ai fondu en dégustant leur stick de mozzarella!
Au final, le seul point négatif est qu’il faisait plutôt froid dans l’enceinte du commerce…

Traiteur italien, restaurant italien… ma mama mia, c’est has been tout ça !
Venez plutôt visiter Made In Italy ! Ce concept traiteur-​resto tout neuf vaut vraiment le détour.
Créé et approvisionné par une trattoria centenaire située dans le quartier (je n’ai pas encore trouvé où, mais j’y travaille…), ce lieu propre et moderne recèle tout ce que l’Italie a de meilleur: des parts de pizza à tomber par terre (essayez celle à la truffe !), des salades avec différentes mozzarellas (pour varier les plaisirs !), et des petites douceurs traditionnelles sucrées et délicieusement parfumées à déguster avec un bon café.
Cerise sur le gâteau, les serveuses sont souriantes et aux petits soins pour vous conseiller.
Moi, je dis: «Maraviglioso !».
