Food here was very good, but I guess the owner was puzzled as to why I was there at 2:30 pm wanting lunch(I was out walking around alone, and I didn’t want a sandwich because it was cold out). I guess they assumed I didn’t speak much French because I overheard the following conversation(happening right next to me): Him: I just don’t get it, it’s a strange way to eat. Her: She’s hungry! But maybe we shouldn’t talk about it. (Then she yelled something, I guess to check if I was listening — but I was eating and wasn’t initially sure if she was talking to me) Smoking customer(yelling from across the patio before I could say anything): She doesn’t understand French! I decided it was easier to just pretend like I didn’t understand at all. They didn’t seem malicious, just genuinely confused. Anyway, I had a veal Parmentier — essentially like a shepherd’s pie served on a shallow pool of onion soup. It was great — very flavorful, very satisfying, just the right amount of food, and not expensive. The espresso was also very good(which hasn’t been the case everywhere).
