We tried this restaurant last evening and after reading some of the reviews, I was on my guard regarding their service. Firstly, the good: the meal was quite good and when we informed the owner that we came from the 2nd largest indo-​canadian community in Canada & we liked our food spicy, they did comply; The food was well prepared though portions were rather smaller in size than we were used to; the total bill with 2 mains, 1 rice, 1 garlic naan (which was terribly undercooked with what looked like raw garlic paste in the center), 4 beers & 1 glass of wine was approx 48 Euros! Now the bad: OH MY GOD, do they try to upsell you and even bring you items that you did not order … it started with the wine, we had to repeat incessantly that we did NOT want a bottle and my wife only wanted a glass of the house red; it continued when placing our order where we had to insist that we did not want any other items that he repeatedly insisted trying to add to our order to the point that I firmly informed him NO, just what we wanted and lastly, after all this, he still came out and placed 2 cheese naan on the table and was about to walk away when I informed him that we had not ordered them and would not be paying for them which made him promptly remove them.
I did check the bill and it was all in order so we paid in cash. Summary, good enough food if you’re in need of an Indian fix but watch out for their, at the very least sneaky, if not utterly criminal tactics to increase your spending.

My friend and I had been excited to try this restaurant for a while because we had not had Indian food in Paris. I had the lamb tikka masala and she had the spicy lamb, both were very good. Service was great, and their garlic nan went great with the dishes.

I didn’t have high expectations for indian food in paris, but I was pleasantly surprised to find some great dishes.
First of all, don’t get the 12.95 menu because it doesn’t come with naan and the entrees aren’t really that great looking anyways. Get the $ 10 one that comes with naan and rice but no entrée. Dessert included in both!
That naan is practically an entrée… I tried the cheese naan and I’ve never had cheese naan before so I didn’t know what to expect. It’s basically regular naan but inside is melted cheese, kinda feels a bit like a cheese quesadilla but naan style with thinner dough and stuff. And no wheat/​corn taste. It was so good. i would go back just for the cheese naan!
Anyways, I got the chicken curry (rather vague as to what kinda curry) and it ended up being a bit like a butter chicken kinda curry. Less tomato-​y than tikka massala, but still very enjoyable. I definitely enjoyed it. My friend ordered the lamb vindaloo and I didn’t think it was very good. She liked it a lot though, so maybe I just had a weird bite. So happy I got to have a little taste of home (meaning Berkeley, indian food mecca) here in Paris. I’ll be back for sure!

En amoureux sur Paris, on a voulu tester ce tout petit resto indien.
Nous n’avons pas été déçus, tout était très bon et vraiment copieux.
Heureusement que je né crains pas ce qui est épicé parce que mon plat pourtant indiqué comme «peu piquant» l’était en fait beaucoup !
Sinon le service était plutôt bien mais trop rapide ! Pour une fois que nous n’avions pas les enfants et que nous avions donc le temps, les plats se sont enchaînés très vite sans qu’on ait le temps de souffler… C’est un peu dommage…

ce n est pas le pire endroit de la place. C est petit, indien de base, pas desagreable, portions correctes, ce n est pas de la grande gastronomie indienne, mais cela est tout à fait acceptable. Bön rapport qualite prix.

Un petit restaurant sympathique avec un grand choix de menus et de plats.
Nous avons atterri là un peu par hasard donc l’étude du menu à pris un peu de temps. Au final nous avons opté pour le menu à 16,90 avec entrée, plat et dessert et en supplément le nan au fromage et un pichet de vin blanc.
Bien que très gentil, le serveur à beaucoup insisté sur ce que nous devions prendre, et surtout nous né devions pas prendre le même plat! Bref, attendez-​vous à commander votre choix numéro deux si le serveur insiste.
Les plats eux-​mêmes manquaient un peu de saveur, et la grande rapidité du service me dit que c’était des plats préparés à l’avance. Donc un peu déçue.
Pour finir sur une note positive, le sorbet dessert était vraiment très bon.
Un restaurant passable qui peu s’améliorer facilement.

Tout petit restaurant dans une toute petite rue mais grande satisfaction pour le rapport qualité-​prix ;copieux pour le menu de midi proposé avec un choix de plusieurs plats, et savoureux ! (j,‘ai pris l’Agneau Keema Matar)

I was dissapointed because they had a big sign out front advertising 3 course meals for 12.95. The host saw my wife and I staring at the sign and ushered us in. Once we had ordered drinks they told us that the 12.95 menu was no longer valid… a little sleazy IMO.
The food was okay. I ordered Lamb Vindaloo and the wife got Lamb Tikka Massala.
Her food was much much better than mine, the vindaloo was not spicy and the lamb was tough. Her lamb fell apart on the fork and the sauce was great.
The Garlic Naan is stuffed with margarine and tasted a bit like the cheap garlic bread you buy at grocery stores. I ordered one rice, but was charged for two… again a little sleazy.
This all cost us about 40 euros, which is equivalent to $ 55 or so. There is better food to be had in Paris, especially at this price.

visited this place for takeout my first night in paris. it was early (before 8) and i was the only person there. they were nice and fast and made me a saag paneer even though it was not on the menu. two days later i went for dinner and wanted a table. i suggest that you call ahead and make a reservation. i waited for an hour (there is plenty to do on rue de dauphine while you are waiting) but it was worth it. i was seated just before 10. the only thing that was odd was that the waiter did not want to give me a take away container for my leftovers. i was persistent and he finally gave in. i give it only 2 stars as back in the states i’ve had better indian food and better service. but in a pinch this place was just fine. hey, i went back.

En plein Saint Germain des Prés, voici un petit resto indien qui sert une très honnête cuisine du Cachemire à des prix serrés.
L’accueil est particulièrement chaleureux et le décor, avec juste ce qu’il faut d’exotisme, assez réussi.
Certes les tables sont petites, recouvertes d’une nappe en papier et proches les unes des autres, mais à ce prix-​là, il est difficile d’être exigeant.
Ce n’est pas un restaurant de luxe et les plats n’ont pas la finesse de ceux du Yugaraj, situé dans le même arrondissement.
Vous avez ici un grand choix de menus à 9 € 50, 12 € 50, 15 € (végétarien), 16 € 90 et 21 € 90 pour le «gastronomique».
Je me suis fait déjà plaisir ici deux fois en prenant celui à 16 € 90 qui propose un choix entre 4 entrées, 4 plats et 2 desserts.
J’ai commencé par un très correct Aloo Pakora (beignets de pommes de terre, farine de pois chiche et épices variées)
Pour suivre, j’ai apprécié le très parfurmé Agneau Keema Matar, grande spécialité du Cachemire. Il s’agit d’un agneau hâché aux petits pois, et sauce curry accompagné de riz au safran
Pour terminer sur une note de fraîcheur j’ai aimé le sorbet mangue et fruits de la passion.
Boisson: un lassi nature
Le patron qui nous reconnus nous a offert le cheese naan (excellent pain garni de fromage)
A essayer sans hésiter, si vous vous promenez dans le coin.

The Rue de Gregorio du Tours is one of those amazingly charming cobblestone alleys that make Paris fun. While wandering down, we came upon Old Kashmir and were initially a little concerned about dining there as there was only one other couple inthe place. However, we love Indian food and took a shot. Bingo. One of the better meals we’ve had in Pairs. And we’re accustomed to good Indian food in San Francisco where there are some 200,000 folks from India and Pakistan. The chicken-​tikka-​masala (sorry, poulet tikka masala) was very well prepared; the chicken was tender and the sauce savory and of perfect consistency. My wife had a prawn curry where the prawns were huge but absolutely delicious. They’d been in the tandoori before being served with a delicious curry. The garlic nan was perfect. While neither waiter was fluent in English (and neither of us in French), the mutual good-​natured attempts at the others’ language was pleasant and productive. And to top it off, we were brought an unsolicited mini-​snifter of brandy at the end! If you like the cuisine of the sub-​continent, don’t hesitate in going.

I don’t know why this place got only 3 starts by some people. The food was great and service was wonderful. Maybe because we were the only brown people in here, that we might have got better service because the owner was talking to us about the ‘motherland’. Nice place with good prices. Small narrow tables, but thats just Europe.

J’y suis allé avec un groupe d’ami, et n’en ressors pas avec un souvenir impérissable. Le service était relativement désagréable, alors que nous étions assez nombreux et au sous-​sol donc peu susceptibles de déranger les quelques autres clients.
Le personnel nous a assez poussés à la consommation, et nous a proposé des bierres indiennes qui se sont révélées produites en Angleterre. Whatever. En revanche les plats étaient conventionnels mais bons.

My wife and I randomly decided that we wanted Indian food. .. while in Paris. We walked down rue Gregorie de Tours from Boulevard St, Germain, past all the tourist restaurants with people out front trying to convince you to come in for the all inclusive menu. We weren’t expecting much, so we stuck to the basics.
The cheese nan was great, the Chicken Tikka Masalla was awesome and we had some other spinach and potato dish that was just as good as the other two. The servers were very friendly and they topped our meal off with a glass of Lychee for each of us.

La qualité n’est pas franchement au rendez-​vous, mais le prix l’annonce dès l’entrée. A éviter et préférer les vrais restos indiens, que vous trouverez évidemment vers gare du Nord. Cela dit le quartier (et surtout la rue) est vraiment agréable.
Le service est interminable et la sympathie des serveurs n’est pas vraiment débordante, à éviter le week-​end, donc.
Mais pour un resto vite fait sans se ruiner ça passé !

Ce n’est pas un bon restaurant, les sauces sont industrielles et les lentilles proviennent d’une boîte. Enfin on est à Saint-​Germain, les serveurs nous regardent manger afin de gagner du temps pour débarrasser. Le vin de table est un piquet imbuvable.

Amateurs de cuisine indienne, passez votre chemin. L’accueil est correct ainsi que les prix. Mais niveau culinaire, j’ai été très déçue: les sauces et les plats trop salés ou trop sucrés et n’ont rien à voir avec la vraie cuisine indienne.

Décors très traditionnels, projections de films From Bollywood, serveurs en adéquation avec le contexte, nous sommes bien dans un restaurant indien. Les plats sont consistant et les menus vraiment intéressants (16EUR par personne) et la carte des vin des vins est accessible (18EUR la bouteille de Brouilly).
Le petit plus: la sauce Curry Crème fraîche est vraiment un délice.

A very good, very busy Indian resurant in the heart of the 6th. just off the Blvd. St. Germain — in a lively little street packed with eating establishments. The menu is not quite as extensive as a typical ‘Indian’ in Britain and the food is not quite as hot and spicy as Brits tend to like it. However, the décor and ambience are just right, the curry is extremely tasty and the naan bread is near perfect. Very nearly a home from home!
