We tried this place a few times since it is very near our hotel. First, it is extremely expensive. the food looks great but it does not taste great. I love octopus and they had some marinated in their deli. It too was very expensive. It tasted horrible. It was slimy and had a strong fishy flavor which i have never had with octopus. I threw it away. Another day we tried sandwiches, ham and cheese, something simple. The first bite tasted good but after second and third, I was totally nauseated. It had a ton of oily bechamel sauce on it and it was so rich that I couldnt eat until the next day. Finally, we tried a fig tart, a dessert, it looked really good but turned out to be made with dried figs and had practically no flavor at all, plus it had a weird glaze on it, just awful. We tried, but not going back.

Awesome place to grab some amazing food, the place is a speciality market so if you are looking for cheap stuff this is not the place to visit. They have a fairly amazing selection of desserts, pastries and deli items but it was one of the few places in the area so we were hungry enough not to care about the prices too much. You might find it listed on FourSquare or Google Maps as «L’Épicerie De Saints Péres»

This place has decent quality goods, but it’s more expensive than many restaurants! So much easier to just go to a good restaurant than deal with preparing stuff yourself.

I have to agree with the other reviewers. The quiche was absolutely lovely but not sure for 9.50 euros. The cheese breadstick was vey hard on the the teeth but still had a good taste. I would ask for the prices because there are no signs and they handle food with bare hands.

Also referred to as Epicerie St. Peres. Great little specialty market, open late. We fell in love with their sweet tarts, they are delicious. They are on open display however and nothing has prices on it. Make sure to ask for the price before you buy. I do wonder if the prices would be lower if we weren’t tourists or if we just said that it’s too much. I read a blog today which mentioned that having them on open display like that is not hygienic which brings up a good point. Also my husband saw the pastry chef lick the stir stick and then lick his fingers as he was making the desserts. He did wash his hands right away and didn’t double dip so it could be totally OK but it has made us a bit uneasy. He also grabs the tartes with his bare hands when serving you, we did notice this is very common in Paris. So it depends on your comfort level, coming from Canada where everyone wears gloves and hair nets we weren’t sure if things were just a bit more lax in Paris or if we should more concerned. The tartes are still some of the best i’ve ever had so use at your own risk ;)

Bien que j’habite à côté, je suis obligée de me rendre dans une autre épicerie que celle-ci car les prix y sont assez excessifs(un pack de six canettes de coca = 10EUR) malgré des produits de bonne qualité.

Nice little specialty market in Paris, but kinda pricey. Not to say that it isn’t worth a gander. They have some of the most delicious deli items, cheeses, and pastries on display. I ended up purchasing quite a few food goodies without checking the prices. It’s still worth it, and I was quite happy with what I bought. The shop is not huge, but they have enough items to provide a shopper with some choice.
