I loved this place! But be advised that just like other places you will also have to pay a higher price for eating at the location. Pastries were on point.

Gut in den Tag starten. Genießer können hier zwischen Süßen und herzhaften Backwaren, Sandwiches wählen. Bei schönem Wetter kann man das ganze auch mit einem Café Au Lait und Blick auf die Rue Saint Antione genießen.

At first glance, everything looks so good. Well in line to order– once I was close up I noticed a huge hair in the berry tart in the window. At this point I had been in line for over 20 minutes and was starving, sadly at that moment I did not care. I ordered something far away from the berry tart. It was a very very mediocre salami and cheese sandwich– I will not be visiting again. Again– this bakery is a chain in Paris and is temptingly located on Champs Elysees. Prices are very affordable.

Perfectly flaky and butter croissants and an equally delicious pain au chocolat. We were caught in the rain and ducked in here for a snack. Both the croissant and pain au chocolat were devoured in less than 2 minutes. I wish we would have ordered more but we didn’t have any time.

This is a great bakery. I wish we had somethig even close to that level of bakeries in the U.S. Pastries are just great whith each one of them. All kinds of breads are good, onionm olives and many others. They have great sandwiches in different kinds of bread and they have many locations all around Paris. Great for snake between lunch or as breakfast to go.

Simply precious. Where this New Yorker’s love affair with all-things French began. :)

I visited a Paul’s that was right outside the Louvre. It’s a great place to get a snack on the go to enjoy at the Jardin du Tulleries. I had the pain au chocolate and it was very yummy. They have a wide selection of pastries as well as sandwiches.

Though I generally don’t frequent chain boulangeries, I couldn’t help but pop into the Paul next to the Saint-Paul metro station. Their alluring pastries in the window caught my eye and starving after a long afternoon of searching for molasses(long story), I was suddenly drawn into the store. Of course seeing a man noshing on a mushroom tourte, or mini quiche, didn’t hurt either. Surprisingly enough, even though the shop is on the busy Rue Saint Antoine, in the gullet of the buzzing and touristy Marais, there were only a few people in the shop. Though I haven’t had very good experiences in other Pauls, this one was really efficient with two to three people behind the counter and two registers. I really liked how the product labels, behind the counter and also in the windows, reflected take-away and eat-in prices. It’s nice to know exactly how much you’re going to pay so you can fish out your centimes ahead of time. Being a native Californian and thoroughly missing donuts, I decided to order a ‘beignet au chocolat’, or chocolate filled donut. To my surprise when I bit into the donut, it wasn’t filled with chocolate. It was filled with NUTELLA! Score!(That is if you like Nutella or chocolate hazelnut paste of course.) This Paul located by Saint-Paul, was definitely a Saint today, pulling me out of my downtrodden mood with a pick me up pastry. Though I have to admit that I’m not a common customer at Paul, as it is the McDonalds of boulangeries(as far as being a huge chain), I’m easily won over by donuts and Nutella.
