Brilliant food. Great staff. Can’t fault it. In a city so full of great food it’s good enough to go back to multiple times.

We ate here twice as our VRBO was right next door. Very tasty Italian food — we had pizza one night, and then had the veal scaloppini on a Sunday night when not much was open. Fascinating people watching — the«head» of the restaurant seemed very much in charge and very much aware of everything going on. There is a picture of Clint Eastwood on the wall eating here, which was unexpected. A really good neighborhood restaurant — not inexpensive, but not outrageous.

I love this place! Everything about the restaurant is great — the food, the service, and the ambiance. It’s a very cozy place tucked away on Rue des Canettes, where the ambiance feels very warm and friendly. The staff is obviously Italian and proud of what they’ve created. The dishes are true Italian dishes. I’ve ordered various pizzas and pastas, but my favorites are ironically their«house» versions of each: the santa lucia pizza and santa lucia pasta. Both were excellent. Also, really delicious house red wine. I always come back to this place!

Definitely one of our favorite spots, what can I say my wife is a genius at finding these little jewels of culinary delights. Tasting and eating the food at this place makes me feel a kid again and the service was excellent!

Renting an apartment on Rue des Canettes. Read the reviews and since we are fans of Chicago pizza, decided to give our neighbor a try. We were seated at a small table and greeted by a happy Italian man. I attempted to order 2 glasses of wine in French when he suggested we get the small carafe. I think he was laughing at my French. He brought our wine and asked what we wanted to eat. Told him we wanted a pizza with tomato, mozzarella, basil, called pizza margherita, and sausage. He kept saying No. We had to order 2 small ones as we could not share. OK. Italian restaurant… Italian sausage! Apparently not in France. It was chorizo. Each time he passed our table he would say«prego.» I have to say, the brick oven really does the trick. Simple and delicious. Excellent meal, excellent wine, excellent service. When we pass him taking a break in the street, he recognizes us and says«hello.» Pasta dishes look amazing. Always crowded. We will be back.

Fantastic food in a wonderful part of Rive Gauche. We shared a plate of grilled vegetables that was simple but mouth-watering. I had the linguine with shrimp and clams in a tomato sauce that was delicious. My wife had a paparadelle with shrimp and mushrooms in a pink sauce made with crème fraîche that was wonderful. Great atmosphere with friendly staff! The chef even explained to us(in French) how to make the sauce for the paparadelle. Try that in Chicago sometime, it won’t happen.

I was there with my wife a few nights ago. I thought it was good she thought it was awful. We were greeted by a lovely old man who showed us to our seat. Upon seething I noticed that the house rouge was € 8,50 for 50cl. Great deal. It showed up and it was delicious. To start we ordered the bruschetta with buratta. I’m not sure if bruschetta is different here but it was just a piece of bread with tomatoes drowned in olive oil and a piece of buratta on top. The buratta was amazing. I just thought that bruschetta had balsamic in addition to the olive oil. For our main courses we ordered a margarita pizza with mushrooms and mushroom risotto. The risotto I thought was great. My wife thought it was just ok. The pizza was good but soggy. When you make a thin crust pizza in a wood fired oven it should come out crisp and delicious. My wife was not impressed at all. Over all a good dinner with great wine but not somewhere we will return to. Not worth the great reviews on Unilocal or trip advisor.

A lovely authentic Italian restaurant tucked into the 6th(which is a nice area to walk around as well). The second visit was as good as the first. The service is excellent, attentive and concerned if you are enjoying your meal. It is reminiscent of a family Trattoria in Italy. They use simple, fresh ingredients, nothing is overdone. My family had brusetta and a variety of pasta. Everything we ordered was delicious. The brusetta was nicely toasted topped with plenty of fresh tomatoes. I had the seafood risotto. It was creamy and had plenty of seafood(whole shrimp, clams, mussels, octopus…) It’s amazing what a difference fresh pasta and freshly made sauce can make. This is a good place for comfort food, craving carbs or just a break from French food.

I still can’t believe that some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had was in Paris. Absolutely authentic Italian dining experience, great ambiance, delicious food and perfect location. My teenage sons wanted to come here for the pizza, which they enjoyed, but my wife’s and my pasta dishes were really out of this world. Highly recommended!

For what it is, this place is the best. An Italian restaurant nestled in the 6th, there for you when you are sick of French food, the pizza, bruschetta, and pasta all came with sufficient flavor sans the pompousness, or extravagant, multiple ingredients. Rather simple and delicious, Santa Lucia was my last meal in Paris and I don’t regret it in the slightest. Service was great as well, which is something that nicely bucks the French stereotype.

Great bolognese sauce! Excellent al dente pasta with the perfect amount of sauce and meat. The servers are authentically Italian, so your little(or a lot of French, like mine) only goes so far. Not a huge wine selection and even more limited beer selection(though the general«Italian beer» we had was good enough to warrant a second round)…but overall the food really, really is great. Between us we had the salmon in pasta(wonderfully flavored salmon alone, put it in the pasta sauce and it is heaven) sausage pizza(wood burning, thin crust incredibly authentic European pizza, lasagna(layers with cheese, meat and perfectly spiced) and of course – my bolognese pasta, which I have tried at a several other places in Paris and this one wins by a landslide. Also very nearby the rest of the nightlife in the St. Germain des Pres area. Would absolutely recommend to any friend seeking a nice Italian meal while in Paris.

This Italian/Pizza place had a good vibe to it and was nuzzled in a quiet part of the Left Bank. The pizza, bread, and wine were all up there in the Parisian Italian places I visited. There was also a playful picture of Brad Pitt on the wall showing his presence there as a young actor. Any place that is good enough for Mr. Jolie is good enough for me. If you don’t take my word for it, ask him.

Stopped in here last weekend while on a walk through the Left Bank. Tried two different pizzas here — the Margherita and the Napoletana, and both were very good. The service here is also above what I have received at most local eateries. I got here just before the lunch rush on a Sunday, so if you are thinking of hitting Santa Lucia’s up on the same day, plan on getting there a little early to avoid the crowds. Atmosphere here is nice and relaxed. The walls are covered with pictures of the owner posing with various celebs, including Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep. As much as I enjoyed the pizza, after seeing some of the pasta dishes that others ordered, I think I might try one of those next time just to see how they taste — they looked delicious. I would recommend Santa Lucia’s to anyone, and it is definitely on my list of places in Paris that I would visit again.

Surprisingly very very good Just stumbled across this place by chance latish on a Saturday night. WE were looking for food at around 22:30. The place was busy and after a short wait we were seated. The wood-fired over is in full view and the pizzas whilst a bit overly doughy around the edges looked good! Initially we thought the water was a bit rude and offstandish, but later turned out to be chatty and nice. All the staff seemed to be Italian and they had a few nasty words to say about the French football team, which being Írish we didn’t mind hearing. The place seemed to be family run. We(3 people) shared the large Antipasti di legumi which was excellent. I had linguini gamberoni which was linguini served«al dente» with clams, mussels and shrimp, it was very tasty and very filling. My wife had the grilled calamari, again excellent, my friend had the«Pizza di mare» which I thought looked a bit too doughy, but her said he liked. The Chianti Classico at 28 € wasn’t cheap, but was excellent. The place seems to be frequented by the Tennis Crowd during Roland Garros, they told us Andy Murray had been 2 years ago and one of the chair umpires was apparently at the next table, I’ll be looking out form him at RG on Thursday!

Vraie maison italienne!
