I stayed at this hotel earlier this week. It is not so near the Grande Arch, but closer to the Esplanade La Defense Metro. There is more shopping and food choices up the hill a t the Grande Arch. Once the office towers near this hotel close there is very little around and it seems a little creepy walking around at night. The bar and restaurant in the hotel had terrible service at night, which made this problem worse. It took me almost two hours to get a snack a two glasses of ordinary house wine for 50 euros. I was completely ignored and the food was not very good. The rooms were 1st rate 20 years ago, but are slowing signs of aging with stained carpet, etc. The bed was made up with this weird bunch in the mattress pad making the bed not flat. I will say the breakfast buffet was terrific. There was a great variety of cheeses, pastries, eggs, sausage, yogurts, prepared fruits and juices. It was included with the room. I would give that breakfast 5 stars, but alas, it does not make up for the awful evening service.

Great hotel, with an even better view. Wether on holiday, or just on a business trip: this is value for your money. Nice rooms and suites, good breakfast buffet and a great overall service. Being an Accor preferred guest, be on the lookout for some bonuses here and there.

This hotel is located in the heart of La Defense, a business district outside of Paris. Paris center is 25 minutes on the metro. The hotel itself is only okay. Internet connection is the biggest pain in the ass ever. I have spent probably two hours in the last two days connecting and reconnecting to the Internet: typing in their passwords; filling in their requests, just so you can get on the Internet. it is free and it is a headache, and it sucks. Also, the TVs and electronics don’t work so well. There’s a lot of flickering and the TV shuts itself on and off, it is really strange There is no dining anywhere nearby –especially on weekends –so you are stuck with the hotel restaurant. The hotel restaurant does not serve full food service during all hours so it is difficult to get a good meal say at 7PM on a Saturday night. Included breakfast is a fallacy. They give you a breadbasket and a coffee. If you like a yogurt or something it is 23 extra euros. Really, if you have a choice, don’t stay here

A bit distant from the crowds, but if you are looking for good service and sparse crowds this is a good place. Situated a 10-minute walk from the RER A station just below the Grande Arche, and a two minute walk from the Esplanade Metro 1 station it is very accessible to all of Paris. Getting there by car is a bit of a challenge the first time because access to the hotel is through an underground tunnel. Signage is clear once you get off the expressway, but you have to watch for name of the hotel and getting there is a maze. While the room size was small by North American standards, but had a good bathroom. Toiletries by Hermes were fantastic. We stayed there for two days just before Bastille day, but on a weekend. Service at breakfast was attentive, but given its a business persons hotel we were lucky with the weekend. The breakfast, while may seem expensive at € 19, is unlimited. Internet was complimentary and good. We had no problems during our stay there.

We really liked the Sofitel, a clean, comfortable hotel with really good service, When we arrived by road(very easy to get there) slightly grubby from a 400 mile trip on a motorbike from the Alps we were treated as though we were royalty fantastic service, nothing seemed to be too much trouble for anyone. Our room was large (we were upgraded free due to some work being done in the kitchens) and very comfortable and clean the bed was the biggest and best I have ever experienced. A real bonus for a hotel in France was the coffee and tea making facilities. The bar was good and there was even a happy hour, the rose wine we had was very good and the nibbles were unusual and delicious. We discovered the air-conditioning did not work in our room at about 11.00pm on our first night but the staff were great and moved us with all our luggage immediately into another room. That was a great reaction to what could have been a major issue. We will definitely consider staying here again however it is not cheap so either start saving or get a deal!

WHAT A DEAL!

Allerdings bekommt i.d.R. auch deutlich günstigere Angebote.

Gutes Hotel in gut erreichbarer Lage.

Another chain hotel in the business district of La Defense in Paris. Slightly more centrally located with La Defense than the Renaissance Hilton etc which are much closer to the Grande Arche to the west. Rooms are typical hotel plastic. Prices exorbitant. Last time I stayed I arrived late and was planning to have a beer. While I waited to be served, I idly checked the menu to discover that a 500ml beer would be 13 Euros. Although on expenses I wasn’t that thirsty… I have dined there too and the food was expensive and nondescript. Not a bad place to sleep but don’t try anything else…
