Awesome English pub near the pantheon. We made reservations for half past noon here on a Saturday for a large group birthday brunch and were not disappointed. The traditional English breakfast here is legit! Even though I had worked up a huge appetite by that point, I wasn’t able to finish. Definitely well worth the money.
To wash it down, the banana bread beer is the way to go! That was originally how I had discovered this bar, at a beer salon where I had tasted the craft banana bread beer. From that point, I knew I had to come here! They have quite a selection of craft beer on tap, and offer traditional English pub food. You won’t regret coming here for sure. Mmm banana bread beer… mmm…

I went on a Tuesday night desperate to have a conversation in English and it was great. It wasn’t too busy, but there was a good mix of people including English speakers. though I noticed all British, none American which surprised me for some reason. Both the bartenders I encountered were incredibly friendly and I had great service. Highly recommend for an English break in Paris.

The banana bread beer is délicieux. Lovely, warm and cozy pub vibes. Set in a great surrounding area for exploring by foot. And the some decent fish and chips. If only they had mushy peas on the side!

Il est assez rare de trouver des bieres anglaises a Paris. Heureusement que ce bar en sert de très bonnes. Les fish and chips sont également bons.

On se croirait dans un pub londonien ! Bonnes bières, personnel sympa, bon rapport qualité-​prix. Quartier idéal. Attention si vous voulez simplement boire un verre entre amis et discuter, n’y allez pas un soir de match, les fervents groupes de supporters sont assez bruyants.

La quintessence du pub anglais en plein sur la place du Panthéon.
Tous les ingrédients sont là: les boiseries, les banquettes, le jeu de fléchettes accroché au mur, les écrans qui diffusent les matchs de Premier League ou de Wimbledon… Et comme souvent, plein d’activités: Sunday night quizz, open mic night etc.
A boire, une dizaine de bières à la pression pour plaire à tous les palais, depuis la London Stout pour les amoureux des brunes crémeuses et corsées à la DNA, une co-​production anglo-​américaine avec la micro-​brasserie Dogfish pour une belle IPA bien houblonnée en passant par la douce Banana Bread Beer (oui c’est, comme son nom l’indique, à la banane). Quelques jolies bières bouteilles, et du cidre, à la pression ou en bouteilles également. Petite sélection de whiskies et de cocktails, certains originaux, et souvent sympathiques.
A manger, on trouve de la vraie cuisine de pub, faite maison. Excellents le fish and chips avec sa purée de pois, le curry du jour, le Toad in the hole. Les plats du jour et la formule du jour sont par ailleurs particulièrement avantageux. Le week-​end, full english breakfast et sunday roast sont de la partie pour compléter la carte et satisfaire les amoureux de la tradition. Les burgers sont un peu moins séduisants que le reste, mais bon, on est en Angleterre, pas en Amérique… Goûter aussi les desserts, souvent délicieux comme le crumble à la rhubarbe, la Treacle tart ou l’Eton Mess.

Les serveurs parlent anglais, la plupars des gens aussi et la nourriture est vraiment à l’anglaise. On s’y croirait!
Pour manger il né faut pas y’aller à plus de 4 personnes car il n’y a pas beaucoup de place mais je recommande cet endroit! L’ambiance est cool!

Quand je passé la porte de ce pub, je suis directement transportée en Angleterre.
Tous les plats qu’on trouve dans les pubs anglais y sont, et surtout sont délicieux !

What’s not to love? Solid fish and chips, huge variety of delicious beers on tap, and great ambiance. It’s also located in Place du Panthéon so the views are spectacular. Great happy hour prices for Paris and a student menu for 12 € that includes their signature fish and chips or cheeseburger and a soda. Service is friendly, great bar staff, and efficient. 10 € minimum if paying by card. In short, this is a super chill place – a nice reprieve when you need a little break from Paris. Highly recommended.

Un vrai dépaysement !
On est allés au Bombardier un dimanche soir, pour participer au quiz hebdomadaire.
J’ai beaucoup aimé :
–le lieu. Lambris aux murs, moquette au sol, on oublie qu’on est à Paris !
–le service. On va demander sa bière au bar, où les barmen sont souriants et pleins de bons conseils. Un truc qui me plait bien, c’est qu’ils donnent spontanément un petit verre pour te faire goûter la bière dont ils te parlent.
–le quiz. Vraiment très rigolo. Ça commence vers 21h (mais viens avant si tu veux avoir une place) et ça dure 1h. Le son est bon donc on entend les questions (!), tout se fait en bilingue avec plein de blaguounettes, ça donne une très bonne ambiance pas prise de tête.
Questions actualité, culture générale, blind test… Pas facile !
Par exemple: quel pays a renoncé à l’Union Jack il y a 50 ans aujourd’hui? (c’est le Canada ! Tu savais, toi? Moi non.)
Ou bien: quelle ville est le plus au nord, entre Vienne, Ottawa et Prague? (je te laisse chercher, je vais pas te mâcher tout le boulot, quand même)
La première table gagne une bouteille de champagne, la 2e une tournée de bière, la 3e une tournée de shots.
Bön, on n’a pas gagné.
Mais pour aider nos méninges à fonctionner, on a pris une assiette de fish and chips (10 €, pas mal, pas trop gras, poisson bien cuit) et un plateau mélangé (manchons de poulet, quesadillas, blanc de poulet frit, stik de mozza frits — 15 € pour la taille moyenne. Ca né cassait pas 3 pattes à un canard, mais si je voulais manger des choses subtiles et bonnes je n’irais pas dans un pub le dimanche soir).
Une très bonne idée de sortie avec des copains anglophones de passage, pour s’amuser ensemble !

Une population de trentenaire animé ce pub à l’ambiance très britannique. On mange des fish&chips et on profite des soirées open mic où les clients viennent tour à tour interpréter leurs chansons. Idéal pour une soirée entre amis

Un superbe English Pub avec d’excellentes bières! L’atmosphère est des plus conviviales quoique parfois trop bondé…
Cependant il y a de la place sur la terrasse :)

Pub Anglais à l’ambiance décontractée. Une dizaine de bières pression au choix. Des TV pour regarder les matchs de foot et de rugby. Très bonne adresse pour passer une soirée cool entre amis !

Pour avoir vécu en Angleterre un petit moment, je peux dire que ce restau/​pub est une vraie plongée outré manche ! Préférez y aller le dimanche pour tester le typique roasted dinner ou le brunch.
Personnellement ma petite préférence va pour le fish&chips.

A legit Pub in Paris! This place was great.
We ran into The Bombardier while visiting the Pantheon and we decided to go in for a drink. It’s located next to the Saint Geneviève, you can’t miss it. Great place for a beer or two. The bartender was gorgeous and she was so nice! Always a plus.
We walked around the area afterward — loved it.

Une vrai télé transportation de l’autre côté de la manche, juste en passant la porte de ce pub totalement britannique.
La moquette au sol, la collection de pipe accroché au mur, les tournois d’Aviron à la télé et les quizz du dimanche soir. Tout y est!
Leur sélection de bières va bien sur avec tout ça! Et je né vous parle pas de leur plat de friture!
Vous voulez un petit bout de grand Bretagne, vous êtes à la bonne adresse!

A great place to watch Premier League games! Make sure you try their banana bread beer!

Un pub à Paris et en il propose un quizz le dimanche soir! C’est une façon bien sympa de finir un week end. Il faut arriver super tôt sinon il est impossible de trouver des places assises. On peut commander des pizzas du restaurant italien à côté et les manger ici en cas de grosse faim, sinon on y trouve évidement des chips en plus de toutes les boissons habituelles.
Les questions sont posés en anglais et en français pour que tout le monde puisse comprendre et on gagne des bières, des shorts ou des bouteilles. Ambiance super sympa et détendue, c’était comme si j’étais de retour en Angleterre.

Great place to get a pint after touring the Pantheon. Friendly staff and airy, spacious pub. Not sure what it is like at night but around 4p or 5p it was a great chillout spot.

In the midst of a land of rude waitresses, painfully slow service, and mediocre food in tourist traps, The Bombardier is a hidden gem right across from the Pantheon!
My husband and I were visiting the Pantheon when I really, really needed to use the restroom. The line inside was really long so we decided to try and find one of those gross, port-​a-​pottie things that you have to pay to use. On what felt like the verge of my bladder exploding, my husband suggested we stop inside the first eatery we came across, which was The Bombardier. Given how snobby a lot of the restaurants are to Americans, and a little stingy (we still couldn’t believe some places really charged you to use the restroom), I turned to my husband and told him that they definitely would not let a rando tourist come in and use their bathroom without buying any food.
Desperate, I meekly stepped inside and asked the bartender up front if there was a restroom. Responding in perfect English with a cute Irish (?) accent, «We sure do, mate! In the back to the right.» I dropped my bag with my husband and ran back, and by the time I came out, my husband was laughing with one of the bartenders and having a full on conversation, and even gave him some beer samples. I don’t really know that much about beer but my husband is a fanatic, and really enjoyed their namesake. The bartender let me try the Banana Bread Beer which was actually pretty damn delicious. We stayed for a few drinks but didn’t order any food because we had just eaten an hour or so before.
The staff was so nice and the food smelled so freakin good we decided to come back a couple days later. This time there were different people working but they were just as nice. My husband had the veal soup and nearly fell to the floor when he tried it; it was so good. I can’t remember the name of what he ordered to eat but it was sausages with mashed potatoes, which he loved as well. I had the fish and chips and it was probably the best I’d ever had.
It’s an English pub, but for us Americans who were beginning to get homesick, it was actually a relief from regular Paris restaurants.
When we go back to Paris, we are definitely going to be making a trip back here!

This is my favorite English pub in Paris!
I went there for the first time to watch Euro Cup finale back in the summer (they have 3 TVs), and I continued to stop by later on because of the delicious drinks, friendly bartenders, great ambience, and most importantly, the perfect location.
It’s by the corner of Le Panthéon, steps away from le Jardin du Luxembourg, and right across from the corner of where Gil Pender gets picked up in Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris.
I miss this place a lot and wish I can go back there soon!

A real british pub in Paris!
Perso j’adore! On laisse tomber le français en rentrant et on se met dans le bain dès l’arrivée!
Pinte sympa et pas trop chère, moquette et lambris, personnel jeune et sympatoche, clientèle jeune et décompléxée, ils se fendent même d’un Christmas Lunch réussi et d’un fish & chips, le tout devant le panthéonça claque!

So British !
Certains me disent que c’est mon deuxième chez moi ! Je dis non, c’est tout simplement «The» pub à fréquenter si vous désirez passer une bonne soirée. Je le trouve excellent car, il me permet de faire des nouvelles rencontres, de parler anglais avec des personnes des quatre coins du monde (barmen et clients) et de m’amuser ! L’ambiance de ce pub me fait penser à ceux que l’on peut avoir à London, Brighton et autres villes en Angleterre… Et si vous voulez un peu de chambrage, de friendship et de chants, venez-​y faire un tour lors des matchs Angleterre et/​ou France en foot et en Rugby, surtout !

When you decide to drink at the Bombardier, you’ll be drinking with a view of the Pantheon. You’ll have a chance to stand on the same steps Owen Wilson stood on in Midnight Paris. And you’ll be in my favorite arrondissement — the fifth!
This place is awesome — so awesome in fact that we found ourselves consistently returning here at the end of the night for one last drink (though I think its proximity to our hotel didn’t hurt either). The location is incredibly convenient — the staff wonderful — and the prices decent. While at Bombardier, you can stop using broken French and speak easily with the bartenders and people around you (it’s an English pub after all). The space is also great — with both indoor and outdoor seating — you can step out easily with your beer and have a smoke (if that’s your thing). They also have TVs so that you can catch that soccer game you refuse to miss even though you are on vacation (Go Chelsea!).
In sum, it’s a perfectly situated pub amidst the history and splendor that is the Latin Quarter and definitely a place I will return to the next time I’m in Paris!

Four stars solely for the fact that they carry hand-​pumped cask ale.
Outside of that, it is a definite ex-​pat (and potential touristy) pub. But it is still a pub. Warm, relaxed, with simple English style fare, TVs tuned to various sports channels, and trivia nights advertised. It is located spitting distance from a college or two, and understandably they are playing to that market. Stick to the beer and mixed drinks — you may be in France, but the Bombadier has decided to thumb its nose and offer only boxed wine. You don’t ask for Bordeaux, Burgundy or Alsace — you ask for ‘red’ or ‘white’. That’s okay — I needed a beer to break it up anyway!
Aside from the hand-​drawn cask ale? The indoor-​outdoor space (the front walls are windows that open on the square) which looks out onto Saint-​Etienne-​du-​Mont and the Pantheon. There are tons of amazing views and settings in Paris — this just happens to be one of them.

So I walk into one of the last footholds of civility in Paris; a British Pub near the Pantheon. The bar keep sees me walk up and says in a deep, accented bellow, «now what the hell do you want?» I reply to him, «I want you to insult me again just to hear the Queen’s beautiful language you wonderful bastard– all I’ve heard the past two days is French rubbish.» He smiles and says, «well then, what the fuck are you drinking?» The drinking binge that ensued saw cheering and bell banging in honor of Chelsea’s win over Portugual among a lively, jubilant crowd.
I definitely enjoyed the break from having to use broken French and finger pointing for the previous two days. I recommend any English speaking person take a «vacation» here for at least a few hours and enjoy the atmosphere. Plus, men aren’t sharing bathrooms with women or pissing into a hole in the ground like you’ll see at many French drinking/​clubbing establishments.

Barman fou lors des soirs de match, ca chante, ca picole, ca gueule pendant 90 minutes pour le prochain france angleterre vous saurez ou allez.
Sinon hors match, pub sympas qui en été est completement ouvert ce qui est agreable, pas cher, parfait pour boire un verre. A testez !!!

An English pub in Paris. Right next to Saint-​Etienne even.
My friends, the «American locals» led us here after a fun walk that went most of the way down Champs Elysees, then back, then across the river, then around Saint-​Germain-​des-​Pres. In other words, it was basically time to sit down.
Being happy hour, the beers were not too outrageously priced – everything in Paris food-​wise is better than Berlin but also 3x the money, it seems – and quite good. Strangely, the bartender even translated American automatically: my friend asked for «chips» and got what the British usually call «crisps».
We hung around for a little while, speculated as to whether the corner across from the bar plays a prominent role in «Midnight in Paris» and then headed back for vegan Thanksgiving dinner.

On se retrouve immergé dans un univers anglophone et ça fait plaisir de «yelper» en English avec les bartenders.
Un large choix de beers de chez les «britt», j’ai opté pour la Young’s London gold (type pale ale… my favorite).
Une fois sa pinte à la main, on retrouve ses potes pour discuter, regarder un match ou simply profiter de l’endroit!
La salle est très grande ce qui est très agréable. Ambiance sombre et boisée, éclats de rire, musique bien choisi!
Il y a une little terrasse dehors qui peut accueillir une 10n de personnes… ce qui peut être cool lorsque la météo s’y prête.
Bref, i’ll be back there for sure… j’en perd mon French

Vous voulez avoir une bonne expérience dans ce lieu? Alors première chose (je sais ça va être dure pour certains) oubliez que vous ête a Paris ici on est chez les anglo-​saxons, traduction On pense comme eux, on parle comme eux, on bois comme eux (courage), on … bon je m’arrête là vous avez compris.
Une fois qu’on a compris ça on se plonge dans l’ambiance et là c’est génial (les soirées de grand match ou lors de soirée quelconque quand le pub est bien rempli y a une ambiance magique dans ce pub, surtout quand le temps est mauvaise et qu’on est a l’intérieur dans ce lieu tout en bois (ça fait vraiment vielle auberge) très chaleureux.
J’en ai usé des coudes dans ce pub. Ayant fait mes arme d’ingénieur à l’École des Mines de Paris (juste à coté) on venez souvent ici avec les copains pour décompresser (et sans jeu de mot on s’en ai pris des Mines lol).
Non franchement j aime ce lieu et je m’y sens toujours bien, un peu comme chez moi… après c’est une question de goût.
Pourquoi pas un Qype évent évènement façon anglo-​saxon?

This English pub, if not a genuine one, has a lot of positive aspects. It has a perfect location, just next to the Pantheon and the Saint-​Etienne du Mont church. When the weather is ok, people sit under the sun holding a pint of usual lager or, even better, a real (now it’s a genuine one) English Ale.
A unbeatable location, genuine English Ale (it’s quite rare to find one in Paris) and plenty of nice people with whom you can easily chat… What else do you need?
P.S: I forgot to mention the darts, the quizzes and other games which take place regularly at the Bombardier. Have fun!

Proper pub!!!
Thanks to a friend’s advice this is where I ended up at nights after dinner watching Premiership games.
The place is really perfect. Very friendly and fun bartenders, good beers, and a nice Apple jack. Pantheon lit up in night lights outside of the cozyy windows.

Decent beverages at decent prices. A definite go-​to happy hour spot for those working and going to school in the heart of the 5ème.

Oui, sûrement pas le pub le plus authentique de Paris (papa, si tu me lis, tu risques de né pas approuver le caractère médiocre et légèrement britannique de mon choix de pubs), mais il a l’avantage d’être grand, bien placé, relativement authentique et tous les serveurs sont anglophones.
Je né fréquente pas énormément de pubs parisiens, car ils sont en général des aimants à groupes de mecs bourrés et lourds, mais celui ci m’a toujours plu. On peut y manger un bout, regarder un match ou juste papoter en buvant une bière avec des copines. Les lampes, les banquettes et l’atmosphère sont chaleureux et simples.
