Vignobles et Châteaux

Set in the center of St. Emilion in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region, Vignobles et Chateaux is a nerve center of knowledge of small, little-​known vineyards and vintages. Encompassing two shops, one with an upstairs classroom, the staff is superbly knowledgable about all aspects of wines… particularly, as you might expect, Bordeaux.
We walked from the train station up to the gorgeous village to meet for our wine tasting class here. Ninety minutes later we were infinitely more educated on the wines of the region. One day perhaps we’ll get back for the much longer and more comprehensive course but this was well worth it. The instructor delivered the lecture in English and was superbly entertaining. We had a hell of a good time.
After the class I went down to the shop and with the instructor’s help picked out a dozen bottles of Bordeaux that I’d never find in the US. The staff was expert, super helpful and fun to speak with. Just a great experience.
