We are decided to go easy and get Surprise 3 meals course.(75 € per person). That turned out to be 6 meals, with all the 2 starters, aperos, main dish, dessert and second dessert. And to all you can add some cheese(extra) and infusion tea. They ask if you have any food allergies that is good. The food was delicious, and i can’t finished my dessert because I was already full. And they send you home with some sweet pie for breakfast. Love it!

Truly an epicurean delight! Expensive yes, but worth every penny. The food and service were exceptional!

Dined here in May 2015, ordering the 5 course meal with wine pairings. Easily the best meal I had in the Bordeaux region, and one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. The food was inventive, beautiful, interesting, and delicious. The service was absolutely impeccable, and was a carefully choreographed spectacle that never left us wanting for anything. The wine pairings were an equal to the food, and were exceptional wines in their own right and very well matched to the dishes. It’s an objectively expensive restaurant — around 200 euro each for the 5 course and pairings — but despite that, it really felt like a great value for such a great experience. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in the area.

This is by-far, one of the best restaurants I’ve had the pleasure to dine at and is ideally located in the heart of beautiful Saint-Émilion. Philippe Etchebest currently has 2 Michelin Stars at this restaurant and is fighting for his third — I’m sure he will get it based on the numerous artfully created dishes that he set in front of me at my last visit. Unlike chefs like Ramsay & Puck, Philippe has dedicated himself to this single restaurant and the difference shows. The dishes are inventive and generous. We choose the discovery menu with a wine pairing, which included ~12 dishes that are not typically offered on the menu — this is the chefs chance to «experiment» and personally, I love the chance to taste new and unique dishes. If you choose this menu, the chef actually personally comes out to shake your hand and thank you for your patronage and giving him the chance to try some new dishes. I wish I could go through and explain the dishes, but unfortunately I do not have an extra 2 hours to write up this review and my French is not the best. All I can say is that the appetizer included a truffle mouse with caviar, a salmon tartare with salmon roe, and an oyster in a watermelon salad; after dinner tea was served from a tea cart holding bushes ~14 different live herbs to be brewed in front of you; and the pre-dessert cheese cart was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. All of the wine pairings were generous and an exciting match for the dish. The wait staff is extremely polite and accommodating and the ambiance is perfect for this type of restaurant. Diners enjoy their meals in a quaint, artfully decorated room with a select handful of other patrons. The room never feels overcrowded and you never get the impression that another table has taken precedence over yours. The only downside is price, but that has to be expected at a restaurant like this. You do get what you pay for though, so be prepared to spend 500+ euros per couple to really take in all that this restaurant has to offer. Also, make sure you make reservations well in advance. I only wish that Philippe would open up a restaurant in NYC so I could enjoy his food more often… then again, it’s probably best for my credit card that he stays in France.
