Café de l’Ouest

Il y a des menus pour tous les goûts. Le service est agréable et les plats sont gourmands.
L’amplitude horaire est un vrai plus.

Très bien, bon accueil, très bon. Perso j’y suis allé plusieurs fois et je n’ai jamais été déçue. Allez y sans hésiter.

We have visited this establishment a number of times and have always been pleased with the food and the way that the waiting staff have been so professional, until now.
The restaurant was not full and the staff were not overworked! A table for two was pointed out to us by the waitress and we were left to our devices as to how to get to it. The tables were placed close to each other so no chance of one of us squeezing through the gap to get to the other side. I had to go into the main restaurant to go around a main pillar to get to my side of the table facing my wife. The waitress returned with the menus. We wanted an apéro to start the meal and to enjoy this whilst we perused the menu. However this was not to be… the waitress eventually returned and asked us if we had chosen our meal. We asked for two Kir Royals to be followed by two Risotto St Jacques.
After about ten minutes we managed to catch the waitress’s eye and asked if the Kir Royals are difficult to make! «Oh no,» she replied, «they are just coming.»
She reappeared with our Kir Royals together with our main course of the Risotto St Jacques… so much for a relaxing apéro! If the Kir Royals had arrived earlier we would probably have ordered a bottle of wine to go with the risotto, but as it was we enjoyed our Kir Royals with our risotto.
For sweets my wife chose the crème brulée and I had the cocotte de fraises. Delicious.
At no time during the course of the meal did the waitress come back to our table to see if we were happy with the meal. We could see the other waiters doing so for their customers, but we appeared to have been forgotten! It is a pity really because the food was excellent as it always has been. We were concerned as to whether it was just us who were being given this brusque treatment, but no, we noticed the same thing happening to a group of Americans and to a table of French people.
So in summary, an excellent meal, as usual, but an experience marred by a member of staff who really should not be at front of house.

Dommage
Un samedi aprés midi en terrasse avec sur la table un plateau haut de gamme: Le plateau de luxe. Excellent plateau, frais, mais avec un service déplorable… Le vin en plein soleil dans un seau non réfrigéré, et servit dans des verres en restés en plein soleil depuis le dressage. Un plateau dégoulinent d’eau, donc une table trempée. Vraiment dommage, c’était bon mais on né reviendra pas dans ce restaurant.

Week-​end à Dinard
Nous adorons. Nous venons régulièrement avec nos 2 caniches et l’accueil est au TOP ! Samedi dernier excellente moules et frites, dimanche le lapin avec sa purée… Purée ! En plus je le conseille aux filles car les serveurs ce sont de beaux mecs.

Un grand café touristique sur la place principale de St Malo. L’intérêt de ce café pour moi c’était vraiment qu’il était ouvert à 22h30 quand nous sommes arrivées à St Malo.
1er bon point: super bon accueil. Les deux serveurs étaient aux petits soins. Super attentionnés et discrets, tout ce que j’aime.
Les moules frites étaient bonnes, les moules toutes petites (mais on nous avaient prévenues qu’elles né venaient pas de St Malo et donc qu’elles n’étaient pas au top), mais la quantité était loin d’être chiche.
Gardez donc en tête que c’est un endroit touristique mais pas pour autant insupportable (enfin j’y étais en février– la saison basse de chez basse, donc à voir en été).

Un bar a gogo (Renault)
Bonne prestation pour des touristes étrangers. Pour le touriste français je vous conseille de parler anglais la prestation du serveur est plutôt sympa. Une terrasse au soleil (enfin je me comprends en Bretagne !) donc couverte. Mais pas eco responsable.

Délais d’attente insupportables
Objectivement, ma femme a attendu quarante minutes entre ses huîtres en entrée et sa dorade… J’ai eu le temps de manger mon assiettes de fruits de mer, et je l’ai finalement regardé manger. Autre point négatif: le serveur né nous a absolument pas informé d’un quelconque retard. C’est nous qui sommes allés vers lui, après de nombreux évitements de sa part… Pas cool. Nous né reviendrons pas. MO.
