Excellent food with nice atmosphere and friendly waiters. All the dishes we ordered were very tasty. in particular the main dishes(«lieue jaune fish and the coquelet). Deserts looked great but unfortunately we were too full!

A lovely little spot, which will draw you in with a spectacular array of desserts displayed in the front case. Regrettably, these magnificent concoctions please the eye more than the palate. The plate-sized raspberry macaron, which looked so promising, was stale and turned to red cardboard. Backing up a bit, the overall menu was inventive and appealing. The Caesar salad had a neat twist, presented with a skewer of herb crusted veal. The coquillette(sp?) was a perfectly-roasted whole baby chicken, sitting in a lake of a foie gras based white sauce. Delicious and filling the cavity with its sauce was a nice touch. The accompanying mash was a bit glutinous and sticky, but well-seasoned. I followed with a selection of two chèvre cheese that were outstanding. With the recent collapse of the Euro, this meal was an excellent value. That said, the very poor selection of Provençal wines are tragically overpriced(roughly € 32 for a rosé I can buy at Whole Foods for $ 12).

This place is completely overhyped and overpriced! Service was just ok, but the owner was an unfriendly jerk. Furthermore, he completely ripped us off intentionally because we only wanted desert and coffee. We’ve had much better food, desert and service at several other restaurants in St. Remy. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Très bonne adresse, les desserts pâtissiers donnent vraiment l’eau a la bouche. nous avons pris le menu du jour, magret de canes et purée maison. La religieuse à la lavande et le macaron choco framboise sont juste délicieux !

We stayed in Saint Remy for a week and dined out in Saint Remy a couple of times. I thought L’Aile was our best meal in town. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere, friendly staff, and a manageable menu. I had the 7-hour roasted lamb and it melted in my mouth. The pricing is fair and the wine list, while not overly robust, was priced fairly. I would definitely recommend an outing here if you’re struggling to decide on which place to settle down in while in Saint Remy.

Good but not great this time because of the service. Probably 3 ½ stars would be the rating I would give if I could. Two of us came in on a Thursday without a reservation, but we were quickly seated and given menus. After that, ignored for 15 – 20 minutes. No water, nothing. Finally we got the head man’s attention and he sent over a waitress. We requested water immediately, which she brought once she understood what we wanted. She was going to leave then but we wouldn’t let her, we wanted to order. The food was good, but not knock your socks off. Our starter, a tartlette of caramelized apples with a quenelle du boudin noir, was quite good and different. An entrée of tuna was a generous portion with a well seasoned tomato sauce topping. A beef entrée with sweet potato topping was less successful. The topping was somewhat bland, needed salt. Which wasn’t on the table, I had to take it from a vacant table. We never were given bread, which should be an automatic in France. To cut our waitress some slack, she seemed to be very stressed and perhaps inexperienced. It probably didn’t help that she had to deal with customers in a foreign language.

It is a shame I can only give his restaurant one star, instead of zero. My entire world view of fabulous French cooking and pride in food, built up over 10+ years of visiting France and 5 years of living in Europe, being singularly impressed by her restaurants, has been shattered in one, short evening. The meillefleurs of goat cheese: underdone, hard pastry and served too cold from the refrigerator. The signature dish, dried out chicken that had to be returned to the kitchen. These two bad dishes and the oversalted lamb that was served to my husband, made me suspicious that this place aims to cater more to the ignorant tourist than the serious gourmand. Without a desire to further select from the menu, we went to a nerarby brasserie that at least could deliver on its promises of authenticity and care for the quality of food served. Skip this place, I implore you.

Great address with wonderful service. A bit slow but they were slammed so we’ll let them off the hook;-) The lamb shoulder entrée(plat) was quite salty but it’d been cooking for 7 hours so that’s to be slightly expected. Enjoy!

My wife and I spent a week in Saint Remy as part of our honeymoon, and the best meal we had in town was at L’aile ou la Cuisse. We wandered in sans reservation around 8PM on a Sunday night and luckily landed the last table — the one just outside the door. I ordered the menu, and while I really enjoyed my meal, it probably says something that I remember my entrée(a scallop tartar and brenoise) and my dessert which I was *allowed* to choose from the vitrine, I completely forget what my main course was. My wife ordered a la carte, and her main course was the fricassee de lapin, which was one of the best foods of our entire trip. It reminded us of chicken mole, and when they refused to tell us anything about the sauce, its relation to a mole was cemented in our minds. Seriously, get this dish! The service was friendly, despite our severely limited French skills(Bonjour, mercy, s’il vou plait, je voudrais — hrm, that’s about it!) We did try to avoid L’Anglais as much as possible, but it all came out A-OK. About the only thing I would have done differently was made a reservation, since we got in by the skin of our teeth and I can’t imagine missing this meal!

This was the best meal that we had in St. Remy, although I can only give it two stars because our waiter displayed the worst behavior I have ever encountered by anyone in the service industry. He was rude from the minute we met him. The last straw was when he demanded that I get up and pick out my own dessert so that the«dessert server» can give it to me in order for me to bring it back to my table. As if I should automatically know how it works in that restaurant. He used a very condescending tone when speaking to me and it left a very bitter taste in my mouth. Although it was our best meal there, we won’t be back because of the foul service.

As part of a biking tour, we came by for dinner on a Tuesday evening. We were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant had a nice ambience, the staff is extremely friendly, and manages with my lack of French. We had a set meal, with some choices. Olives and bread is served to start. For the entrée I had a beef carpaccio, parmesan, and basil salad. The plate was hearty, two types of fish, in a mash of potatoes and sauce. Both were very flavorful and tasty. The end of dinner was highlighted by going to their dessert case and selecting from their assortment of desserts. The strawberry tart and the trio(of which the crème puff) were both excellent. This restaurant is a solid bet for ambiance, food and dessert. I would highly recommend it.

Great restaurant, came here because the restaurant we were planning to go to was booked but what a fabulous find! Started with a caramelized apple &goat cheese appetizer in a puff pastry — to die for, light and ended with the scallops which were divine. Definitely recommend!

We came to St. Remy-De-Provence on some sort of music festival where every street was lined with music performers and people just dancing in the streets. It had a very Pamplona/SXSW feel to it. random music blaring from every corner and people everywhere. One of our random stops was l’Aile ou la Cuisse, as we saw some of their pastries in their display case. Then we saw there menu and that they had been recommended by Michelin 3 years running. We made a reservation for 9:30 and then resumed our random meandering through the city. After coming back, we were treated to one of the better meals of our time in France. My tomato/cucumber gazpacho was spot on as was the presentation. Lamb ragout was tender with the perfect flavor. Whitefish expertly cooked with the most amazing seasonal vegetables paired with it. The staff was attentive and friendly. Décor was charming and quaint. I would definitely come back here without a doubt the next time I’m in the area.
