Bistrot Gueule à Vins

Next time your visit Château de Vincennes, make you you take a short stroll to visit this local restaurant. This place doesn’t look impressive from outside. It seems to be a local bar but the restaurant hidden behind the bar is absolutely a crown jewel. We ordered dusk breast and rib-​eye steak; together we spent less than 28 euros. Both quality and prices are unbeatable. Steak is amazingly juicy and roast duck is served will plum sauce. I still can’t find better duck breast prepared better elsewhere in the world. Mash potato is made from scratch with tons of flavors. Please see my picture posted with both dishes. Will come again for sure.

Un bistrot de quartier à la Parisienne comme je les affectionne tant.
On y croise des employés, de jeunes mamans, des retraités, des jeunes couples, des habitués, des gens de passage.
Que vous soyez café en salle ou demi au zinc, faites une pause à la gueule à vins si vous passez par là ! Il y a également une carte pour manger mais je né l’ai jamais testée.

Attention, avis non objectif, car c’est mon bistrot de quartier, celui qui réunit les gens du coin, et ceux de passage. Pas de prétention, mais de la convivialité, cosmopolite, et petite ambiance de quartier. On s’y arrête prendre un café le matin en rentrant du marché, on déguste un apéritif les soirs de printemps sur une des quelques petites tables qui longent l’établissement le long du trottoir, on rentre s’y réchauffer les soirs d’hiver en passant devant. L’ambiance s’échauffe encore plus si soir de foot il y a.
L’établissement fait aussi restaurant avec une assez grande salle séparée à lumière zénithale: spécialités simples et classiques, un couscous de temps en temps ou des tajines.
Une base essentiel du petit quartier commerçant du bout de la rue de Fontenay, la fin de Vincennes Centre, le début de Vincennes Est.

Take the Metro Line 1 to the very end to Château de Vincennes. Tucked along in the tree-​lined streets of Vincennes is Bistrot Gueule à Vins. I have been frequenting the Bistrot for over 6 years now, because it’s just a stone’s throw away from our family flat that we stay at every time I’m in Paris. Upon entering, it’s a bar where locals come to drink and watch matches on the television. Towards the back is the restaurant, which evokes a very relaxing and homely atmosphere. The lighting is dimly lit, and various shades of red pervading the room. The bar and restaurant is frequented by the locals, and it’s refreshing to not be surrounded by tourists.
They offer an impressive menu full of hearty selections. It was here that I had merguez for the first time. For those not familiar, it’s an amazing red, spicy sausage from North Africa. I encouraged Lumberjack to try it, because it’s one of my favourites every time to come to Paris. The service is always friendly and welcoming. Between the two of us we shared lamb, merguez, couscous, and a variety of roasted vegetables. It’s exactly what we needed after a full day of travelling. The meal was fresh, tasty, filling, and moderately priced. Overall, it’s a good relaxing and tasty experience if you’re in the neighbourhood.

Dans un petit coin reculé de Vincennes, quelque peu à l’écart des beaux quartiers, se trouve le bar-​restaurant «Gueule à Vins «. Certes avec un nom comme celui-​là, on pourrait s’attendre à un endroit peu recommandable, et pourtant l’ambiance y bonne et l’accueil plutôt sympa. A la bonne franquette en quelque sorte.
A l’intérieur, le magnifique comptoir est une invitation à vous asseoir et commander un verre de vin. Car, à la «Gueule à Vins «, la carte est assez impressionnante. C’est d’ailleurs l’une des particularités du lieu. Et ce bar de quartier par excellence fait également restaurant. On y sert un copieux couscous et de bonnes brochettes.
