Never had bad really bad experience here. Food has always been decent. The service can be improved. Getting the servers to get water is a challenge. Not fair to charge a service charge if your not going to give water to someone eating spicy food. I had to ask three times for water top offs and more napkins. No apology from the staff. Canceled my lunch reservation/meeting for the next day and moved it to a better location.

While visiting the island, I wanted to eat at Meskla with my family for my birthday. We went there the evening of June 15 and was received by the most rude and unhelpful receptionist. We waited for over 30 mins with open tables and a table filled with dishes. When asked how much longer our wait would be, the receptionist remarked he was waiting for the waiter to clear the table filled with dishes. After 30 mins of waiting, no one cleared the table the receptionist stated was meant for us. To make it worse, there were other tables available but he didn’t want to sit us at the table since there were only 6 of us and the table was meant for 8. Thank you Meskla for ruining my visit and my birthday! Horrible service! I will definitely make sure everyone I know is warned before they even decide to waste any time in your restaurant.

Second night here in Guam and the food is getting better and better. My brother and his friend recommended Meskla and insisted we go here. Appetizer: Simply amazing. Started off with the Chamoru Chesa Platter appetizer. Favorite item on the platter– Tinala Katni, island specialty dried beef. Eating em like strips of bacon. We ended up ordering more. Shrimp kelaguen was good too. Comes with bread to spread them on. Main: My local friend told me to try the Parrot Fish. Glad I did. Three ways of ordering it. I went with fried. Soooo delicious! Wait for the Finadene sauce to dip your fish in. Makes it even better. I’m an Islander and eat with my hands. Had to look around and wasn’t the only one doing so. No be shame. Makes it easier getting the fish off the bone. Dessert: Crème Brûlée champuladu, a local comfort dessert. Rich sweet chocolate rice with a Crème brûlée top. What a way too top off a meal. Service: greeted, seated and got our orders in. Vince took good care of us. Drinks: Full bar, Tuba cocktails and craft beer. Enjoyed a Hefeweizen by Widmer Brothers. Tip: make reservations if dining with more than 2 people. Excellent choice for dinner/Chamorro Fusion food in Guam.

Hmm, for a place in a strip mall, I wondered in my head why do we need dinner reservations? My in-laws and I arrived at our reservation and the hour we were there the place was maybe half full? Anyways, the food was OK.

This place is very nice and has great food. We ate here a few times and everything was awesome. Decent prices and great service. Portions are a good size and save room for dessert!

I’ve eaten here a few times, and really enjoyed my meal and the atmosphere. The restaurant is swanky and intimate in it’s seating arrangements and décor. It’s a smaller and open floor plan with nooks and crannies here and there. despite the smaller floor plan, each time I came in a group of 6+ people and they were able to accommodate us with a reservation. The service is friendly and attentive, and the food comes in a decent time. The full bar offers a lot, but what I really love about this place is that it offers Tuba-Coolers, which is a local traditional drink, in which Tuba(fermented coconut wine) is mixed with a beer… so good, and complements the salty-spicy cuisine of guam so very well. The food itself is done exceptionally well, and really stands out in my mind as a good hearty chomorro influenced meal… the dried beef with dinanche and titiyas appetizer is a must. The fried parrot fish is also my favorite, that I’ve had on guam, and the salmon wellington and fried snapper are also DELICIOUS. The pricing is a bit high, but for the quality and portion of food you get, it’s worth it. This place also boasts some amazing local music, on one of the nights we went, Bobby Alvarez, a renowned ukulele artists who has played with the greats, was there and the set that he played was unforgettable.

Went here with my son looking for real Chamorro food. What I got was BBQ that was good but not Chamorro BBQ, tasted very much like Korean Kalbi, so that was disappointing, Kelaquin tasted like something from hotel row. My mom got coconut shrimp(which is not Chamorro), it looked and tasted like it was out of a frozen dinner. Service was good. But please don’t call yourself a Chamorro restaurant if you don’t even serve the food or know how to cook it. Call yourself an island fusion or something.

Came here wanting to try this place out. Didn’t even get a chance to. Wish I could give them no stars instead of one for the way we were treated trying to get a table for 5. We were greeted by some older lady asking if we had reservations. Told her we didn’t have any. So she said«sorry, you have to wait for a hostess» and walked towards the back. Then this younger lady walks to the front and asks if we had reservations. Told her no and she says«sorry, we don’t have a table for you.» She then kept saying reservations are booked all night. She kept saying that as if they weren’t going to have any free tables anytime soon. So we asked how long is the wait for a table. She then said 45 minutes to an hour. We would’ve waited but we were just like forget it. She obviously didn’t want our business. She needs to work on her customer service. Not sure if I want to try this place anymore while I’m here on vacation.

You’ve got to be kidding me… came here for dinner during the week and was extremely disappointed! A huge swing and miss. Upon walking in, the place was deserted, not a single person besides the staff. An empty restaurant… service must be great right? Wrong. Our drink orders were taken shortly after arriving and it was a whopping good 10 minutes before they were brought out. Keep in mind the restaurant is completely empty. When we ordered our food the waiter had to inform us that several key menu items were not available, but they had everything else. So, I ordered the award winning BBQ. After about a 20 min wait, it came out… and it was adequate at best. If I had a prize for average, this«award winning» BBQ would take the prize! The most disappointing part of dinner was when I tried to order dessert and they didn’t have the mango cobbler… but wait, didn’t the waiter say they had everything else? Straight up liar! Disappointing. If you’re looking for a good BBQ meal, and a superb all around restaurant, take a stroll down the street to Proa and see where the real party is! I will not be back.

The food is quite good but there was a few major issues with lunch. One… the food came out timely. The server was okay, she was a bit cold until she requested she complete a survey. I ordered the award winning BBQ chicken. It came out and looked like Korean BBQ fast food. The mean appeared a bit greasy. I’m not sure if you have been to Oahu buuuut sam’s delicatessen in the nuuanu area makes chick with the same flavor and it comes with rice and beautiful fresh sides. The chicken looks below average, it was kind of thrown on my plate and again appeared greasy. The veggies were ok, again appeared like a child prepared them… for $ 14 for some chicken thighs thrown on a plate– not okay.

This is without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Guam and a must stop whenever I visit the island! A must try is their Tinala Katni and Empanadas(appetizers), 2 meat Combination BBQ Short Ribs and BBQ Chicken, and Kalamansi Lemonade. A special thank you to Ms Duenas and the staff for the friendly and welcoming customer service… great professionals and truly made each of my meals enjoyable. Thanks and set y’all next visit. Recommend taking home an extra order of Tinala Katni and Danansi for next day savoring! :) I’m taking an order back to Hawaii with me AND a jar of Danansi! :)…yes it’s that good! Their Candy Cake is beyond words!

Overall dining experience was okay. I started the evening off with appetizers(crispy fried calamari and the stuffed portobello) The calamari was tender and sweet, the sauce paired with it complemented the seasoning on the calamari. The stuffed portobello lacked an acidic element. It was one dimensional and was overpowered with the flavor of the cheese and cream stuffing. For my entrée I had the Tinala Katne Platter. The dried beef was very fatty(could’ve used a little trimming) very salty and lacked any other flavor. Our waitress was very nice and the atmosphere is very relaxing. In my opinion, the food could use another element of flavor, but the excellent service balances that.

Tried Meskla for the fourth time yesterday and I like this restaurant however it’s a little pricey. I recommend getting the lobster mac and cheese or the denanche pork chops with extra denanche on the side.

Meskla is where it’s at!!! I’m so glad chef Peter D. opened up an upscale Chamorro restaurant that features the best of what the island offers. It’s been open since 2009 and I’ve been making a trip here at least once when I’m home. The food here is fantastic! Local reef fish(check), Tinala katni(check), Kelaguen(check), and Shrimp«Uhang» Burger(check)… I’ve always had the tinala katni appetizer, and it’s served with titiyas and dinanche. I really just come here for that, but Meskla has sooo much more. Most recently I just wanted a good sampling of what Meskla has to offer, so I ordered The Chamoru Platter. Now if you are unsure of what you want or are new to trying Chamorro cuisine, then this is the best option for you. You get tastes of the Tinala katni, the day’s kelaguen(which was shrimp when I went), titiyas, salad, deep fried reef fish(mine was parrot fish) and served with the quintessential red rice, finadene, and dinanche. All that for under $ 25!!! And, yes service could use a little help, but it’s island life! Hell, most of my local friends have a sliding lunch time scale that can go up to 2 hours!!! I wish I had that option…

Really bad service, food is okay. I called to make reservations and a lady picked up like she was answering her personal phone. I ask if it’s meskla and she says her name and asks if I’m trying to reach meskla. I tell her yes and she goes on to explain that the phone might not be working and gets rerouted to her phone. She asks me to call a different number then changes her mind and says she’ll get a hold of the restaurant as a «favor» to me. So recap: their phone is messed up, I’m trying to give them business and somehow the owner’s doing me a favor? Mind you this whole time she’s also talking to her friends, saying hi and stuff. Rude, unprofessional and definitely not good customer service. The waitstaff was no different. I asked the waiter what meskla meant. Clearly annoyed, he points at the menu and says, «fusion like it says on the menu.» First of all, it does not say meskla = Chamorro word for fusion, it says meskla Chamorro fusion. He said it in such an arrogant tone like it was such a ridiculous question. As you can see there was already such a bad taste in my mouth, it probably didn’t help that the food was just ok. As a tourist, I found the Chamorro village food to be just as good without the pretentiousness and bad attitudes.

Extremely tasty burgers. I received the Racheru burger because, I personally believe you can’t go wrong with spicy and bacon. This burger was probably one of the best burgers I’ve had. It included cheese, spicy ranch, bacon, and a fried egg. Service was great, wait was not very long at all. The restaurant is a little small and congested at times. There aren’t any waitresses, so you have to pick and sometimes clean your own table. Their lemonade was extremely delicious as well. Highly recommend if your a burger person.

I got by far the best best burger I had on Guam here, but I found myself wishing I’d gotten some of the local food, which is really good here, and in a more upscale way than most of the other places on the Island.

We arrived early when it opened not too many people. We ordered the pork chops and the lobster pot pie with an appetizer of spicy wings. The wings weren’t spicy so don’t expect it. they did have a nice sauce like substance on them for a little taste decent sized wings. The lobster pot pie left a lot to be desired as far as having lobster in it. I expected some pieces of lobster like a chicken pot pie but there was none just like shredded little pieces of lobster. I was told the pork chops were good and had a spicy taste and of good size portions. The service was good and the staff was on top of everything as far as refills, napkins and anything else needed.
