I could go to 4 stars on this, but something was holding me back. I think the main issue is that, unlike many Japanese, I like leaner cuts of meat. I’m not used to paying for fat, and what I got had too much fat for my taste. That being said, it was very tasty, and the standard teppanyaki meals also come with access to a good salad, sushi, and tempura appetizer bar. So on the whole, it’s not overpriced, and it’s a good place to try.

Excellent customer service! The only teppanyaki in town that I know that offers buffett with the meal. Their pinoy desserts, like the leche flan, are really delicious and pretty close to the authentic ones you get in the motherland. In addition to the desserts, you can tell that there is a pinoy theme to the restaurant by the fact that they serve ketchup as a dipping sauce for the karaage chicken. Lol!

I’m usually wary of restaurants that have seating for more than a hundred people, and this is no exception. When you have that kind of volume, I think it’s really difficult to monitor the qc. We weren’t able to sit in front of the grill to watch the cooking, which is the point of the whole thing if you think about it. Our table was on the outskirts of the waiters area so we went without beverage refills and… service…for most of the evening. My wife is right, we’ll go to Joinus.

Enjoy eating in Samurai with the family. The service was good and the servers are willing to help the customers. I like to eat there during lunchtime.

Samurai is a teppanyaki place in the Fiesta Hotel which I used to know as the Dai-ichi. Going to Samura was a ride on the way back machine when I used to work the front desk Japan Rent-a-Car and the club next to Samurai used to be the Hibiscus room. So, ok, I’m old. It is pricey with the tenderloin/lobster teppanyaki set pushing the $ 40 range, but you get good sized portions and had I known that, I would have just shared the set with my husband. I had him order the tenderloin/lobster and I ordered the tempura set. My family was with me and we also had the NY steak and shrimp. I recommend the tenderloin all the way. The NY steak was tougher and I loved the tenderloin ordered medium rare. The lobster was a treat, but the bacon wrapped shrimp was pretty darn good, too. The set comes with a salad and dessert bar so depending on the night, your salad/soup/dessert offerings are hit or miss. We happened to be there on filipino dessert night. I’m no hater, but I’m not fond of guinatan, bibinka and cassava, so I was not digging dessert. But, the teppanyaki was good and it’s always entertaining with the right teppanyaki chef.

Samurai is always one of the places on our list when we make the trek back to Guam. Although a bit pricey, the food is definitely worth it. I’d take Samurai over Benihana or and the like out in Cali any day!

Ate lunch here for my niece’s birthday. We all ordered the Samurai plate which had a little bit of everything; steak, bacon wrapped shrimp, chicken, vegetables and I also got a beer to go with it. The bacon was a little much but everything else had good taste… and I love bacon. Kind of pricey but is expected for a typical teppanyaki. They had large servings and I couldn’t finish my meal. The food was good and their version of medium rare was what I was looking for. If I wasn’t already full, I might have gotten some sushi as well! My cousin gives tours around Guam, and I’ve seen her make this a stop for you hungry tourists! Its kind of like a Benihana except for the show that you get while you meal is being cooked in front of you.
