Lantern Chinese Restaurant

Have eaten from and in here for years. Even before there was a Chinese restaurant/​takeaway in Belmullet all the locals traveled the 90 min round trip drive to get a takeaway on a regular basis!
Like «Mykindathing’s» review below the Chicken Dry Hot and Spicy is my favourite dish. Usually start with there spicy chicken wings but can be too much chicken so will have the crispy wan ton.
Décor in the restaurant is getting a bit dated but your typical chinese décor. Dark as there is no windows but let none of this put you off. Staff are very friendly. Clean, warm and sure what more would you want.
Takeaway section is small and a seperate entrance to the restaurant. Just a counter with a doorbell button on the right of the counter to call their attention. Usually a few people in there.
Plenty of parking with access onto a one way street (you turn right on exiting!).

The Lantern does incredibly mouthwatering chinese food, at a very reasonable price. The chicken dry hot and spicy is scrumptious, and the duck is very tasty. They have a car park at the side of the restaurant where you can grab your takeaways easily. This place is well known for a good reason and has a great reputation, so try the chinese food here and you won’t go anywhere else.
