Fantastic food and a friendly staff! Great DJ too!

Refurbed a few years ago (although you wouldn’t think it; obvious a lot of thought went into it, and the searching for the reclaimed stuff; the mosaic floor tiles were sweet) this place has won numerous awards for their grub… the seafood chowder was excellent, scone bread and not a hint of the normal super-​salty fayre you normally get in most places — benefits of being coastal!
Cue a steak the size of a toilet seat with no shortage veg to soothe a bad case of blood lust. Not one for desserts but seen as my fellow Qyper got double helpings of Banoffee pie (hes either bulimic or lucky) I rode in and took one for the team… homemade and tasty tasty tasty.
I noticed before leaving that they have a bit pot of lollies for kids, nice wee touch for families out for pub grub.

When you walk in and a place is busy you know it must be good and that’s the case with An Cheibh, or T O’Talboid’s (Which are the signs over the door) but sometimes known more locally under it’s former name of «The Anchor».
Consistency, Consistency, Consistency is what it boils down to. I regularly dine and drink in here and never disappoints. Some of the best food in the area.
Décor has a nautical theme but very tastefully done. Smoking is outside the front, toilets at the rear up a wide hallway on the left. Continue on up the hallway, up the steps and through the double doors to the large function area. This can double up as a private party room, on the busy days ie Mothers day etc. over flow for dining purposes (can be a bit cold up here sometimes) and finally a night club.
Big open fire and nice background music. New snug bar to the right which the owners are trying to have as a «Drink Only» section. Newly decorated Dec 2009 to include a pot belly stove etc.
Jan 2010 and the owners Tommy and Orla are building a 20 bed hotel to add on to the bar. If I know these guy it will be a well thought out as the bar is. Night club will be closed for a few months.
