The best off-license in Blackrock area. Great location, just beside the Blackrock shopping center. Very friendly staff. They recommend(and understand) about craft beer and they also know about home-brewing. Great beer selection. I reckon they must have at 150 labels. They organise it in Irish beer section, Belgian, UK, German, etc. Every time I go there I really take my time to choose a good beer, specially the new ones I havent tried yet. The prices are not bad at all. Also worth to have a look at the he mix and match section. The wine section is also big, but I have never bought any wine there.

Craft Beer and good wine They have an excellent selection of craft beer and priced well they stock some of the harder to find large bottles. Great wine selection and well sourced so you are getting excellent value but be prepared to spend that bit more. Parking is best at the super valu /blackrock shopping center car park. Oh they also have a small cheese selection from Sheridans.

We only really went in to kill time, but were pleasantly surprised to find a most excellent craft beer and wine shop. I was really impressed with their selection of Irish craft beer. Which was all presented really well together in one section. Their international selection was great too. The wine collection was vast, but I didn’t really peruse it much. Worth a look though if you are more a wine than a beer person. The two guys running the place were really friendly and keen to help if you needed their input. But they kindly left us to it when we said we were fine just browsing. They give you 5% off if you buy 12 bottles of beer, so we happily put together a selection of craft beers, ones we are fans of and ones to try for the first time. Downstairs was an art exhibition. If we’d not ran out of time, I definitely would have gone down for a nosey. Nice place. Nice people. Worth a look.

Not an immediately appealing shop it has to be said but once you go in and start to browse you realise 2 things; 1 There is a huge selection af wines and beers — I’m not a beer drinker but I know lots and they really appreciate the variety you get here 2 The prices are, for the most part, not at all bad. I wander in more and more often of late just to browse and maybe treat myself to something new and different. The guys behind the counter are hugely helpful too, all in all, worth a visit.

Odd bins appeals to the kind of person that when they go out they don’t care how much they spend, as long as they get hammered. Call me a nit-picker, but when I have to spend an extra 2 or 3 quid on six cans, I feel a bit miffed. It may not be hyper-expensive, but I’m a man with a taste for the Tuborgs and Dutch Golds of the beer world and Odd Bins doesn’t always satisfy those needs. I’m not knocking Thai beer, but about 85% of the time I’m on a tight budget for the night, and at 12 blips a go for a six pack it is almost double what I’d be hoping to spend. Odd bins has a wide range of wine, beer and spirits and is good if you’re stocking up, but not if you want to pick up a quick six pack of Bavaria. Or Oranjeboom. Or Hollandia. Or Pratzky. Or Castlemaine XXXX.

Not in the mood for Prazsky? Dutch no longer suits your mature pallet? And the thought of Rachmaninov from Lidl makes your stomach churn? Let’s get some wine, real wine, not from Tescos wine. Let’s go to Oddbins! I have to say that the most shocking thing I found about Oddbins was that I could actually afford anything other than Dorritos. They really do have a full spectrum price range, but they were a bit snooty when I asked the difference between the dark stuff and the paler bottles. Snobs, it was a perfectly reasonable question.

If your looking for wine in blackrock oddbins is the place to go. They have a pretty large collection, definitely the biggest you will find in the area and the prices are decent. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have the wines divided by place of origin as well as staff recommendations and special offers. This makes it very easy to find exactly what your looking for. They do have a small beer selection as well which does include some nice import beers. They also sell a lot of beer by the box which is really great and you can usually find a good sale on these beers.
