Though it was just 1 night, this was the BEST place we stayed during our 9 day Irish Holiday. PROS: –Clean BIG room and the BIGGEST bathrooms in all of Ireland –Best decorated interior areas: reception, hallways, lounge, breakfast room –Friendly staff/owners –Short walk to to restaurants, shopping area, and most importantly Bunratty Castle(especially if you do the all-you-can-drink-wine Medieval Banquet like we did!) –Only 70 euro/night midweek! :) –Nice hearty breakfast… I think my wife and I were the only ones staying that night, but they brought out the entire spread, the Irish know breakfast! — Near Shannon Airport CONS: –Not a lot to do in Bunratty except see Bunratty Castle. I wish the Courtyard was in every city, town, and village I visisted! Maybe they should create a franchise chain? :) PROTIP: If you’re a chubby American, like I am, you may want to request twin beds. Irish double beds are smaller than American full size beds.

My fiancé and I checked into the Courtyard for our last night in Ireland. We chose it primarily for it’s close location to Shannon Airport(10 minutes by car). Our room was large and well appointed. The bathroom was a good size, too. Our flight out in the morning was at 7:40 in the morning, so we were unable to take advantage of breakfast. So, based only on our one nights sleep I’d give it a pretty good review. However I have to mention that on the day of our flight we left our key in our room and left the house at 5:15 with our things. When we got to our car we found the battery was dead. Embarrassed, we went back to knock on the door and thankfully the young man in charge answered the door and allowed us to use the phone to call for a jump. He was incredibly nice considering we ruined his chance for a good nights sleep. For that, I can’t thank him enough.
