I found Pickles by chance and I’m glad I did. The salads you see upon entering seem to be the star of the show here although I’ve heard the burgers a good too. So why the 3 stars? A Club sandwich that costs € 10 would want to be something special but it wasn’t. The home made coleslaw it came with was delicious and the bread was tasty but all the other ingredients fell short of my expectations. The cheese was a pre-grated blend of white and red cheddar straight from a packet and the chicken and bacon filling were just ok. No one was disappointed with what they had, in fact my sister said her sweet potato and bean wrap for € 8 was amazing. Had my sandwich cost € 8(or included fries for the € 10 asking price) this would have been a 4 star review. I liked Pickles and I will be back. Hopefully my experience will merit a 4 star review. **ok, I caved! 3 stars isn’t a fair representation of Pickles. It’s a nice place in a nice location with nice staff. Based on my first visit it’s 3 ½ stars but that’s not an option here. I’m sure I’ll be back and knowing what I know now I believe I’ll get the value I didn’t first time around

Been here a few times now and each time have really enjoyed it. Lovely bright room with friendly staff. And more importantly the food is really good. The beef burger is delicious with cheese loaded potato skins-you won’t be hungry after! Loads of homemade cakes and sausage rolls etc. are on display to tempt you. Great selection of choices on the menu with plenty of gluten free options. Breakfast served until 2pm at the weekend which I think should be the norm. One of our party had the French toast and it tasted amazing! I’ll be back!

Located in The Park of Cabinteely up by the primary school, I discovered this little gem. The food was really tasty! I went for the hummus wrap which came with two side bowls of couscous and spicy chickpeas. The décor was homely and country kitchen-esque and there was a book shelf set up for book swaps. They cater for groups too with byob option which can be handy. Over all, I nice spot for lunch and the free parking is a bonus ;)

I have ate here twice now and both times were very good. In particular the staff are very nice, food is good quality, not the usual crap you north get in these small cafés. Good selection to suit most tastes. Don’t have a bad thing to say about the place. More people should go!
