53 Degrees North

Great informative evening here the other night. All about the Camino walk hosted by 53 and talk by Caminoways. Really big crowd arrived on the night. With a discount given after the talk on sales.
After seeing these guys in the recent holiday show in the rds I took this second chance to ask more questions and a chance to see the crowd the would partake in such a walk.
And I’ll let you know yessss I’m doing the walk. Booking only a week off work so fingers crossed I can make the last stage walk of 220 km. Would love to do more but work is my bread and butter

Bought a pair of shoes here last week and was very happy with the service. The clerk brought out several pair and even offered to bring in a pair from Cork. 53 isn’t the cheapest place in town but it does have quality stuff.

This is probably one of my favourite places to shop and window browse!
Huge store, quality brands, and they stock nearly everything you could think of for outdoor activities.
They usually have good discounts and if you join the member club you can get a bit further off the price you don’t even have to remember to have your member card or account number, they will find it by your name.
I bought my last pair of hiking boots here an the advice I received from the staff was excellent, I tried on a pair and in the store felt OK, they told me to wear them around the house and see how they felt and if I need to change them I could. which was great as I need another size up as it turned out.
You’ll get all sorts of advice from the staff, not only for boots but for maps, bags etc.
One thing to note, they seem to have more items in there actual stores then they list on the website (which is great too) but I like to physically touch the product before buying. best of both worlds.

I cant explain why they have that name… i can never reember the number. and frankly i think its silly. but im sure it has something to do with an important place at that area of the world.
However that doesn’t really matter… this place is the business if you are looking for good prices on either hiking, surfing, rock climbing, extreme sports and everything else wear… they have it all… and they also have more fashionable stuff if you are in the mood to spend rediculous amounts of money on a brand name.
Their staff are fairly well versed at the things they sell so listen to them… they dont generally try to push the most expensive product. but use your own judgement on that one i guess.
