Thought it was a lovely pub! In the city centre, easy place to hang out in. I liked the venue and it’s atmosphere, a but alternative but it’s somewhere to tick off the list in cork

Lovely Local Lagerhouse! As a student, I tend to eat, drink, and essentially live quite frugally. While exploring the city of Cork during my first week in the country, my friends and I popped into close-by Preachers, whose outdoor boards boast of 3 euro daily pint deals. My night was made complete when I realized they serve Hoegaarden — one of my favorite intoxicants! Furthermore, they offer it in full pint glasses, a feature that I had yet to experience the wonders of. My friends and I had a great time sitting and standing by the bar, although after further visits, I’ve noticed that the place can get a bit too crowded. However, the regular bartenders are wonderful to chat with, and close quarters can always make for new and unexpected friends! Essentially, Preachers is a fantastic bar — great beers on tap, rockin’ music, and good company!

This is a relatively small bar with a cosy setting, always seems to be good music playing. You can get pitchers of beer. Favourite start of point to meet up with friends

I was in town on business, after having a great dinner at Soho, my co-worker and I were walking back to the B&B. We came across a few students of UCC, standing outside this small bar, Preachers. So a conversation was started, and as is the usual Irish custom… we were invited to share a pint or two over the talk. Into Preachers we went. If you are claustrophobic, you don’t want to visit Preachers. It will be packed(this was a Wednesday night). But as for the students and the bar? It was GREAT! The Guinness was flowing, and so we had a few(we each had to buy a round of course). I’ll have to admit, I normally don’t do things like what happened here, and maybe it was the beer talking, but it was a whole lot of fun meeting those 5 students from UCC and talking. I’m not sure how much the drinks cost, because my co-worker«bought» my round… so I never paid for any of the 5 beers we had each. I’d have to guess it was around 3 – 4 Euro per. If you’re in Cork, stop by Preachers for a pint. It’s full of locals and the best way to travel is «being a local».
