Scoozi!

Scoozi’s seems like it has been in the same place for decades… and maybe it has! its a popular spot, it doesnt really suit my taste… lasagne, burger, pizza with soups and locally famous chicken wings… but it is just above average overall… maybe a better lunch spot than dinner?

My mom and I went to Scoozi’s on a recommendation from Blarney Stone Guesthouse. It was such a cute place. It was very busy, kind of reminded me of diners in the states.
My mom and I split the fried mushrooms with garlic sauce… our new favorite irish app. They were crisp and full of absolutely greatness :) We also split a burger and fries. The burger was prepared well and the Cajun sauce was tasty. (Not overly spicy, just flavorful) We then had to split a dessert as we saw several people order dessert at lunch: P We enjoyed the Strawberry Pavlova. It is truly a dessert I will dream about. It was light and decadent… I’m not even sure that makes sense, but it’s true. The creamy texture mixed with the sweet crumbly crust was incredible.
When I go back to Ireland, this is definerely a place I am revisiting.

Someday Scoozi will be open for Sunday brunch and all will be right with the universe. But until then, I’ll just have to make do with their breakfast menu being a weekdays and Saturdays fixture.
That said, I really like this place. It’s as old as Cork itself at this point, but there’s a reason a place like this stays standing for so long. The food is great, especially the Greek pizza and burgers. Their desserts are great as well.

Delicious food and great atmosphere! Definitely a Cork favourite, try the salsa wings and definitely get dessert afterwards. Have gone here for the dessert alone before!
You might be asked to wait for a little bit but they are very fast.

Why is this place so popular? I’ve been a few times now and each time I’ve been really disappointed. Everything that came to our table looked like it was heated up frozen food. Nothing looked fresh. As soon as they served my pizza, I regretted ordering it. Besides the food being a huge disappointment, the place itself is really cute and the staff were lovely.

Been here good few times now. Never fails. Yummy wholesome food. And loads of it! Today there was 3 of us. Starters were nice: garlic bread with mozzarella 3 slices, garlic mushrooms yummy, chicken wings bout 10. Spicy! Mains; lasagne (very hot give it minute to cool down), burgers and chips, The desserts are to die for. Busted tho after it. Mars Bars Cheesecake, banoffi, and chocolate brownie. Service is great. Staff are lovely. Price is normal. And u get a lollipop leaving

Definitely recommend this place. Was very homely and the food was delicious. I got the lasagne and for dessert, pavolva with strawberries. Reasonably priced.

I tried fish and chips, served with mushy peas, was good.
The place was nice too.
22 € with a coke and a coffee, fair.

I would miss it, the service was very good but unfortunately, the food is a step or two above microwave. Had the pizza and the burger… both average at best… Wings were okay though…

Definitely not Italian! They do pizzas and pasta (along with burgers, steak, salad) but it’s very much an Irish style family restaurant. Don’t let the word «family» put you off though, the atmosphere is cozy and there’s always a good buzz in there. The dishes are very generous in proportion and very delicious. Be prepared to wait for a table at rush hour dinner time. Dessert is a must!

Hands Down the BEST Wings in the people’s republic. The menu is quite extensive and has something for everyone, the prices are really reasonable too. The staff are fabulous, they really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The Desert menu is my fave. A hotspot for first dates for students so the overheard conversations are hilarious. I remove one star because a) they serve minerals as splits (250ml bottles) they’re super pricey and it is my pet peeves in restaurants b) They’re really family friendly… which of course means kids… and lots of them

Not fabulous but okay, dishes size were correct but it wasn’t that tasty, too much promotion about their homemade sauce, should I have put some in my burger to taste something?
We also took the home speciality (burger with mushrooms sauce) the sauce liked like it was made with powder and water… And the Scoozi chicken that was very dry…
Lucky us, we took a 2persons starter that was good …
In brief, it’s correct but not fabulous if you are looking for good cuisine

Love this place. A very popular restaurant in Cork. Don’t know if you could call it ‘Italian food’ though. I almost always get the chicken wings when I go here. The sauce is sweet but heavy.
Great tasting food, had the steak sandwich before and it was delicious. The pavlova is my favourite dessert, great staff and is always pretty busy.

Really great place, friendly staff and amazing food! Queued for less than a minute, though service was a little slow — but worth the wait! Very reasonable prices too! & try the lasagne!

After it’s high reviews and packed crowd we decided to stop by for dinner. As an Italian American Maybe the review is too harsh, but I thought the food was somewhat expensive and the food above average but not outstanding. I had the meat lasagna which was good although not the best I have had. Served with tour choice of side salad or chips and also comes with Cole slaw strange for Italians but apparently standard for the Irish which I am OK with. The food was very good and well prepared. Again though I think the prices were a bit high for pizza and pasta. Nice drink selection
Great atmosphere friendly staff. We had the strawberry shortcake dessert which is huge and can be shared. It was very good. The tea and coffee were also very good. Maybe I .just hung up on these high European prices !

YUM!!! I go in here about once every second month and I really like this place. As it is a popular restaurant in Cork prepare to wait for your table! Most of the staff are incredibly nice and the décor inside is quite lovely, warm and inviting.
This is a lovely place to go for a coffee with a friend, on a date or for dinner with family. You will frequently see kids here so bear that in mind if you are trying to get away from your own for an hour! It is located in the heart of town and has a good atmosphere. Make a booking if you can.
The food is simply the main reason I come back time and again. My most recent dish was the flourless chocolate cake with fresh cream to the side. I would like to admit now that I am the biggest chocoholic ever and am very fussy about my chocolate but this particular cake was to die for!!! So light, fluffy but mouth watering. It hits your tongue and then melts!!! Delicious, absolutely delicious. My friends ordered the spicy wings and could not stop raving about them.
All in all, I recommend to anyone to try Scoozi’s-be prepared for a busy restaurant that serves great food at a fairly reasonable (for Cork) price.

this is a very busy lively restaurant, good idea to book ahead, but quite a fast turnover so if you find yourself in the queue, you wont have to wait too long.
food is burgers, pizza and pasta, mainly, desserts are lush! great atmosphere and attentive waiting staff

Very busy and good to book I imagine, but there is a quick turnover of people so you do not have to wait long to be seated.
Fantastic range of «Mediterranean» foods available, complemented by imported beers and an excellent wine list.
A must see place to visit if you are in Cork.
Good for visiting with Friends, Family or as a Couple.

Le meilleur endroit de Cork, rapide, chaleureux, le staff est toujours accueillant même s’il pleut dehors et que vous arrivez les cheveux en vrac. C’est toujours un bonheur de faire pause au scoozi! Vive le pollo à la scoozi! Aussi bien en famille qu’à deux, à midi ou en soirée et la propreté est irréprochable!

Very busy, very lively restaurant. Lots of Cork people come here — it’s like a social club in some ways. The food is good, but standard fare — the menu doesn’t change much, but the buzzy, chatty atmosphere makes up for it.
Great for large groups, and events like birthdays.
