Scotts Bar Of Caroline St

War in Cork während den Jazz Festivals und war auch in Scotts (hab immer noch einen Hut mit Schotts Logo die ich dort bekommen habe)
Es war mehr als überfüllt (wahrscheinich wg Jazz Festivals — alle Pubs u Kneipen waren halt voll), aber die Atmosphere war wirklich cool. Nichtdestotrotz wenn man schon da ist, in nähe befindet sich ein anderer Pub — Hi-​B der man auf jeden Fall auch besuchen sollte!

Scotts is a bit of safety-​net when you can’t quite decide where to go in Cork. Need a place that does a good pint? This is it. Handy spot for lunch? It’ll do. Grown-​up nightspot (i.e. not a cattle mart)? That too. It’s a Swiss army knife, there’s better speciality places around, but it has convenience on its side.

During the day scotts is a restaurant and a nice place to get coffee. very big on the inside and has outside tables. In the evenings it turns into a pub/​nightclub. The dance floor is upstairs next to the bar and is fairly sizable. Prices are what you would expect at a nightclub in cork and there is always a good mix of people in there.

I can’t really review this place because I actually didn’t get inside. The guys at the door refused to let the group of 8 of us enter because one of the guys was wearing ‘runners.’ Another guy in the group and I were wearing converse but they were going to let us in. I think there was something else going on here and I didn’t appreciate their snobbery. So if you want to even bother checking this place out, make sure your shoes are up to par.

Scott’s ist eine nette Kneipe mit schmackhaftem Essen, eine Gute Auswahl an Bier Sorten, unter anderem das in Cork obligatorische Murphys Stout.
Sport Fans kommen gerne hierhin da die Größeren Soccer und Gaelic Spiele gezeigt werden. Das Publikum ist sehr gemischt; tagsüber kommen viele Büroangesellten, und Shopper zum Mittagessen, abends ist das Publikum eher Jung und trendy. Es gibt eien sehr angenehmer, beheitzter Raucherraum. Preise sind für die Innenstadt gängig.

This isn’t my type of place to go at night time but I really must recommend the food here. Really tasty food whether carvery lunch or the evening menu. Good portions and nice location for lunch.

SCOTTS
They say the best time to test a pub is when it is under pressure. With the jazz weekend upping the numbers, Scott’s of Oliver Plunkett Street was packed this Saturday afternoon.
Food was flying downstairs while upstairs was packed for the jazz and the show by Ocean’s 6 in particular. The staff were busy but passed with flying colours. Service was top notch. No big delays at the counter while the tables were quickly cleared of plates and glasses.
One table did collapse but the staff were quickly on the job and minutes later there was no trace of the collapse.
Prices too seemed to be reasonable enough at this popular music venue and, by the way, the music was great as Ocean’s 6, who play swing, soul and rock and roll, put on a two hour plus show packed with energy and variety, They drew the audience in and we all left happy!

Very expensive but Gorgeous food

It was easily the largest bar in Cork when it opened and went for a very upmarket clientele. It’s relaxed out since then and all sorts go here, but still is over two floors. Busier during the day and early evening than later. Good carvery food and fine selection of drinks. Dies out a bit later in the night though, as its more mature customers head home.
