Nice restaurant, decent food, alright prices staff are nice but quite busy so don’t expect too much chat. Good to pop in for a coffee and a bite before exploring the wonders of the ashleaf!

Hidden on the upper floor of the Ashleaf, Red Aoife provides much needed caffeine and tasty delights to relieve my soul of the nastiness that is weekly shopping! I do love this little place and it’s a great airy little spot to rest your hoofs after trailing the aisles of Dunnes!

A new business taking over from Graham O’Sullivans slot in the shopping centre. They added lots of colour to the entrance so I was curious to see what they’d added to the food. The new owners seem to have kept what was good with the old formula and changed what wasn’t working. The layout is pretty much the same, but the food is no longer sitting there slowly drying out on a hot plate. I ordered a small breakfast, which was pretty good value with 5 items, tea and toast for 5.50, all of which seemed to be cooked to order rather than served dry and congealed, as with the previous business. It arrived to my table a little cold, but I think that was more my fault for being engrossed in a book and not noticing the wait staff wandering around with my food looking for me. On the plus side when I asked for butter it was brought to my table promptly AND with a selection of jams, AND for no extra charge… which is one of those small things that you appreciate. I have to say it was a good breakfast and I’ll definitely be going back.
