Might have to queue for a bit on weekends, but worth the wait. Great coffee and breakfast options. Definitely the best brunch in Terenure /Rathfathham area.

Fine brunch on a Sunday, good coffee, good food, good service! I’m giving 3 stars because I’m not sure I’d go back in a hurry and would prefer somewhere with something that would knock my socks off for brunch on a Sunday!

Sunday brunch here with 2 little people in tow has become a recent favourite. Menu has been hanged up again and some really good choices like poached eggs with homemade potato cake and black pudding or eggs with pulled ham — yum! My current favourite lunch is the open crab and smoked salmon sandwich on brown bread and a mug of the soup of the day. Despite not being overly«kid friendly» my boys are always warmly welcomed, which is really important to me.

Great for lunch, best place in terenure. We went to the lovely food company for lunch a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed the experience — I’ve been back a few times :) There are great lunch options my friends had the prawn salad and the superfood salad and I had the pulled pork ciabatta. It was really good with friendly staff and nice coffee. Perfect place to go for good quality(lovely) food in Terenure!

Once in a while, you just gotta do the brunch thang. We rolled into The Lovely Food Company only slightly the worse for wear one Sunday afternoon and grabbed a table for two. It was a busy service on a sunny day, and the dining room was hopping. I’m always tempted to go sweet for brunch(can’t help my American roots) and so ordered the French Toast with Maple Syrup and Irish Bacon. Himself — strictly a savoury man — opted for the Eggs Benedict(with a side of Carrot and Parsnip Soup). As we waited for our food to arrive, I sipped a lovely latte. Brunch was served, and I was pleased with my choice: two big pieces of brioche French toast with a generous pile of crispy bacon and a ramekin of syrup. Seriously, what on this planet tastes better than crispy bacon drenched in maple syrup?! Of course the Tall Dude seated opposite was horrified — he firmly believes that the two things shouldn’t mix. EVER. For his part, the poached eggs on sourdough toast were nearly perfect(he likes ‘em a bit softer than they were), the Parma ham was tasty alongside and we both pronounced the Hollandaise excellent. The soup was smooth, creamy and delicious. We’re lucky to live a mere hop, skip and jump away from The Lovely Food Company. Midweek dinner review coming soon…

Average/rather poor restaurant. Tiny portions, we went for a Saturday breakfast, ordered Egg Benedict and Egg Roal — and left the restaurant hungry. The spoon from coffe was dirty, some chocolate residue, asked the waitress if we had a clean soon. She never apologised, just brought us the same spoon, but watched. The interior is very frugal, table are squashed. The is nearly no chance to get a parking spot near the the restaurant. The staff is rather cold and not very welcoming. We will not return.

This particular day we decided to go for brekkie /brunch and my first thought was The Lovely Food Company in Terenure. I’ve been meaning to get along to their Supper Club deal of dinner for 2 with wine for just € 50 but just haven’t managed it yet — but I love a good brunch and theirs is pretty well spoken of in the area. They don’t take bookings so off we toddled at about 11.30 on a Sunday morning — I was guessing the busiest time would be from about 12pm onwards so wanted to get there before the queues! It’s a lovely little spot on Terenure Road West, just a moment from the center of the village. There were plenty of healthy options in the porridge or fruit salad options but eying up the food the couple at the next table were presented with, I decided to take their lead and try the Eggs Florentine(€ 7.95) — Fresh toasted sourdough, poached egg’s, baby spinach, hollandaise and chives. Two soft and runny poached eggs and a delicious hollandaise sauce made for a fantastic choice. Also on an egg buzz Mam went for«Lovely Eggs» Two free-range eggs fried, poached or scrambled with Irish bacon, toast and tomato relish — € 7.95 and also chose poached eggs. Both of us really enjoyed our Brunch in The Lovely Food Company — great food, friendly staff and reasonable prices are exactly what you want in a local food spot! If you are nowhere close to Terenure, they have also just opened Bread and Butter Food hall and Café in Drumcondra so get yourself down there to try it out!

After living in the area for the past year, curiosity finally got the best of me and I made a dinner reservation for the Lovely Food Company. The interior is rather basic, a no-frills chic, which is actually refreshing in the sea of overly twee cafes that seem to permeate the city nowadays. The wait-staff is incredibly friendly, with a level of genuineness that makes you feel so welcomed. We were delightfully surprised with the free starter, a beautiful and artistic assortment of their most delectable offerings. I ordered the roast chicken for my main, which could be a very boring choice in some restaurants but it was cooked to perfection, so succulent and flavourful. Will absolutely go back!

Best breakfast out in a long time! We ordered the full irish with the special smoothie, and scrambled eggs, grilled tomato, sausages on sourdough bread and a coffee. Friendly staff, speedy service and really seriously tasty food. I’d especially recommend the sausages and sourdough bread. Also it was a nice touch serving the smoothie with a ramekin of warm toasted granola yum! It gets busy here after 11am so I’d try get down early enough.

So I finally managed to get here for dinner, and the first time was so good I booked again the following week. Let’s start with the staff, I have never met a more lovely bunch of people who absolutely love their job so much. They welcome you from the moment you book. I went for the Supperclub which is 50 euro per couple for two courses and a bottle of wine, what value. I can’t comment much on the wine as I don’t know anything about it, but I had a lovely bottle of South African Shiraz and we were given a lovely glass of prosecco on arrival. The ingredients are top quality and the dishes are all created with flair to showcase each ingredient and bring out the best in complementary flavours, the chef really knows how to create a well balanced and exciting menu. I tried the caramelised onion and goats cheese tart to start and we also had the most tender buttery brisket to start and both were full of flavour and top quality. We then had the baked cod with beautiful petit pois and baby new potatoes, which was so light and delicate and pleasurable to eat. We also had the pork belly served on creamy dreamy mash potato and turnip and I wanted to lick the plate it was so good, I was gutted when it was all gone. Desserts were equally delicious with lemon almond sponge, molten chocolate bombe, romantica and a gluten free almond and berry cake all being demolished over the course of both dinners. The coffee to finish was, as always, perfect, this is also one of my favourite places in Dublin to get a coffee. So it would seem that there is nothing that these guys can’t do, their breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner are all spot on and one of the best I have ever tried. It is highly unusual for me to ever go back to the same place more than twice but this place I can’t get enough of, I just keep returning for more. Furthermore, they are about to open a second premises in Drumcondra along with a food parlour so there will now be more opportunity for everyone to get their chance to try their wonderful food. This really is my favourite restaurant in Dublin. Previous review I love love love this place. The décor and style and service is so Parisian and professional and just pitched perfect and the staff are lovely. I have tried nearly all their muffins and they are the best I have had in Dublin, maybe because they are so big and their carrot cake is also fabulous. My favourite thing to order is the Super-Food Salad with Haloumi Cheese, Roast Butternut Squash, Carrots, Peppers, Stem Broccoli & toasted Seeds, I won’t even begin to try and describe how amazing this salad is because I won’t do it justice, but it is a taste explosion! When here with my parents my mum had the pulled pork sandwich and loved ever mouthful and my dad had the turkey sandwich, he wasn’t so impressed and would have preferred a salad with his food not a handful of crisps, but you can’t please everyone! The French toast made with brioche and served with maple syrup, cream and berries is melt in the mouth delicious and I also tried a special of almond and plum tart served with cream and berries and again this just melted in the mouth. For such a nice place, great service and tasty food the prices are really reasonable. The place always seems to be busy, but last time I went in at about 3pm it was nice and chilled out. There are tables outside the front of the place, with bowls of water for dogs, I like little touches like this. There are two indoor seating areas and another few table out the back for when it gets sunny. The staff know a lot of customers by name, so that is always a good sign that people return again and again. One of the best things for me is their coffee and prices. For 2euro you get a huge big coffee to take away and a great loyalty card, buy 5 coffees get your 6th free. It is the best coffee around that area and I have been to everywhere around that area. I go out of my way to stop off and get my coffees here. My dad ordered 3 with his meal they were that nice and ‘good and hot’ as my dad described it. The next time I go back I will try a different meal, as I am sure that everything on the menu is tasty. I will also try and go in the evening time as well as I am yet to do that and I will let you know how I get on.

A regular customer of Lovely Food Co and you can’t fault them in any way. The atmosphere is a friendly welcoming one with attentive staff. The food is in a word is exceptional, for the reasonably priced range and variety on offer. Worth a visit whether for French toast in the morning or soup and sandwich for lunch.

Food was delicious, service was very pleasant, really nice atmosphere and good value. Went for two courses and wine, had goats cheese crostini for starter and turkey and ham roulade with white pudding stuffing and champ for main course. Good portion sizes, really tasty, would definitely go again.

I have never eaten in this restaurant which, I grant you, is an odd way to start a restaurant review. However, what’s not obvious from this entry is that they do an excellent event catering sideline that is simply superb. We were having a ‘do’ at home for the daughter’s 18th and the numbers had grown exponentially beyond the capacity of my cooking ability. Enter the Lovely Food Company. For a very reasonable € 12 a head we had a delicious chicken a la king dish with two fantastic sides salads, moreish bread and enough rice to feed a small oriental village. In fact the portions were so generous that we will be eating chicken a la king for the rest of the week.(No cooking this week either — bonus points). Food was delivered to the house and set up on bain maries to keep it warm until the guests were in equal parts chilled and hungry. Second helpings were many and opinions universally complimentary. I couldn’t fault the food, the service or the price. They have alternative dishes of course but, for a diverse mob, I reckoned the chicken would suit most tastes. I wasn’t wrong. Highly recommended.

Very nice restaurant. Neighborhood restaurant that not everyone knows about. If you live in the area give it a try. Limited seating. Food is good, coffee is good. Staff is nice & friendly. Have only had breakfast here and have not been disappointed. Medium priced.

I’m very surprised this place has such a high rating. I was here this weekend with 5 friends for lunch and while the place was very cute, the food was not ‘lovely’ at all. We all ordered sandwiches from the lunch menu. I got a very plain chicken and stuffing sandwich and according to the waitress it was her favourite!!! It was almost impossible to taste anything other than the very think and tough sourdough bread it was served on. My teeth and jaw hurt for the rest of the day from trying to chew through this bread. I also fail to understand the obsession some places have for serving a handful of crisps with a sandwich! What about a side salad? If I was to return it would only be for a tea or coffee as food is not nice and not good quality for what you pay for.

The lovely food company — the clue is in the name! I love this place. Though on the small side — it’s ideal for a school night dinner and the food is always excellent both in value and in flavour. The service ain’t too shabby neither! Keep up the good work guys! Visited June 2013

This is a great little spot! Quality food at good prices. They have home made muffins and scones for breakfast, and they use freshly baked bread for their lunch time sandwiches. Their dinner deals are great value too. The house wine is very drinkable and reasonable. This restaurant definitely lives up to it’s name!

Like the previous Unilocaler said this location is a Bermuda Triangle for Businesses, there have been dozens here over the years. I am a local here and eat in a lot of the Terenure Village restaurants. We had our first experience of the Lovely Food Company last Sunday for Brunch Firstly the place is immaculately presented. The service is almost Parisian in its professionalism. The food is beautifully presented. The Coffee was good. The price was right. I really hope this place lasts as I will be back again to try the dinner menu. Great show guys!

oh and do you know what, it is lovely. This café exists on one of those sites that seems to eat up businesses and spit them out. I’ve passed it on the bus a few times and noticed how quickly the previous incarnation died. Anyway this morning having been stuck on a bus on terenure road west for over an hour due to flood, I decided to get out and stop for breakfast before trying to get to work again. I had french toast with eggs and bacon and it just perfect. The décor is simple and sophisticated, the tea came in a big pot, I got maple syrup with my french toast, the staff were pleasant and attentive… even the tiny toilet was lovely. It’s all lovely… must make a point of going back for cake some time.
