Where else can you purchase a hammer and nails with a pint of beer!!!
I’d imagine this concept anywhere else would be a huge liability, but at Foxy Johns it just works! This quirky and unique pub in Dingle is a hardware store by day and a pub at night. Locals frequent the bar so you’ll hear conversations in Gaelic and English. We stopped in for a pint of beer before dinner and the pub was fairly quiet, but the bar was pretty packed when we passed by later in the evening.
TIP: Bicycle rentals are available in the back of the pub.

Best pub on earth. I was not in the middle of a building project, however how many times have I been at the hardware store late night and wished it were a friendly pub? Countless. Awesome atmosphere, kind clientele. Super friendly, no matter where you’re from or what age you are — locals between 18−90yo, all walks of life. Great spot, worth the trip.

We need a place like this in the US. Imagine you are out of nails, you run out to a hardware store and «presto», the hardware store is also a bar. That’s the case with Foxy Johns.
Walking in, the bar was occupied by locals. It’s obvious to say they could tell we were tourists. Despite this, we felt welcomed in this establishment. The locals seemed to speak both English and Irish, going in and out between both.
Foxy Johns is worth a stop if you happen to pass by it. No need to go out of your way though, unless you also need a new hammer.

Loved this place. We walked in here around noon by accident as we were looking for an S hook to repair our stroller… and Voila… a cool bar! It was like fate telling me that it was time for another Guinness.
The place was full of locals aged between 20 and 40 and I spent a very pleasant hour or so chatting with the other patrons. I highly recommend this place for booze and bolts!

If you’re in Dingle, go here. If only for the small town pub feel and the security in knowing that if you run out of hardware supplies, they’re right behind you!
Went here on recommendation of a friend — it was a Tuesday night and rather empty (2 other patrons sitting at the bar, which seats approx 8; a few in back watching tv)…but it made me wonder just how packed this place actually gets on the weekend? I chatted with the barman briefly and he commented that it was pretty slow that night, so perhaps my suspicions were incorrect.
Definitely worth a visit! It’s on the left if you’re heading uphill on Main street.
