Stopped here to eat after visiting the Guinness Storehouse. The server was very friendly and food arrived promptly. I have the burger is peppered sauce and I was warned that it was quite spicy. I love black pepper and even this was a little bit peppery for even my liking. My husband enjoyed the traditional Irish Stew and he thoroughly enjoyed that as well.

This pub was kickin on a Friday night. I had a gig in the upstairs function room and the room was pretty cool and well laid out. Great for a party venue. Downstairs was full of the after work crowed who stay on well into the night. A nice surprise for a pub that I never knew was even there.

We just had a wonderful time at Arthur’s. The man at the bar remembered us from earlier before they were serving food, so friendly. Food was excellent, fish and chips soup and yummy ice cream. Good prices fun atmosphere

We needed a place for lunch between our morning Guinness tour. And afternoon Jameson tour. Glad we happened on Arthur’s. What a wonderful pub! The interior is amazing. From the lovely old wood. To the«real» fire in the fireplace! Just lovely. We had the shepherds pie, Irish stew and Beef&Guinness stew. All were wonderful. Great selection of beer. We had a craft lager and a couple of harps. All were quite good. The best part may have been the staff. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Made us feel incredibly welcome. I recommend highly!

I’ve been here several times for breakfast and lunch as it is close by to college. Each time I’ve been here something has gone wrong. The first time I was here I ordered a panini but asked to substitute crisps and side salad for chips, however, everything came together and I had to pay extra for the chips. when we went to the bar we were asked if we were students and told that we get a 10% discount if we were… so they gave us a 10% discount. The Second Time I was here there was 7 of us and a man came to take our order without a notebook or pen… he came back to us about 20 minutes later to write our orders down and to double check that he didn’t miss anything the first time… which he did, mine! the group i was with were half way through their food when I was served mine. After we had eaten we went up to the bar to pay separately and told the staff that we were students to get our 10% discount, the guy told us that they had never done discounts in the establishment so we all paid the regular price. after everyone had paid for their meal the man handed me a loyalty card for 10% off and told me to use it the next time i come in… so confusing!!! I don’t know why he couldn’t have taken the discount off that time! The Third time time I was here will definitely be the last. We were a group of 10 and went in around half 12 so they were only serving breakfast foods which was OK. I ordered 2 sausages and 1 hash brown with tea and toast. When the food came the tea and toast was served together, to be shared among the group and not given to us individually. There were 3 pots of tea between 10 of us and we each got a half slice of toast as they had cut each slice of bread into 2 triangles and there was 10 slices of these… when we asked for more toast the guy asked us how many portions we wanted as he didn’t want to make to much if we weren’t going to eat it. we said another one or two slices each and he asked us several times how many slices that would amount too… so much rigmarole over an extra bitta toast… he eventually came back with more toast which was the same amount as last time so we each got another half slice. since we had 3 pots of tea between us we all only had 1 or 1.5 cups of tea each. 2 of the girls that was with us only ordered tea and toast and consumed one cup of tea and 1 slice of toast each and were charged 7 euro between them… ridiculous! I had 1 slice of toast, 1 cup of tea, 2 sausages and a hash brown and I was charged 7euro… I could rant on about this pub all day… the food is lovely but it’s way over priced and the staff are clueless! I won’t be going back anytime soon… The service i would give a 3⁄10 The food I would give a 7⁄10 Value for money 3⁄10 way over priced

Really disappointed with my experience in Arthur’s. We came in to an empty pub at brunch, expecting to be seated and order promptly, but were told it was too early for food, but that they would make an exception. Fair enough. We order our food, and are asked on three separate occasions to repeat our orders back. It was € 6.50 for two hash browns, two slices of gluten free bread and a small bowl of beans in sauce(which I had the misfortune of finding a hair in). I had no drink with my meal, but was still charged more than others who had meat with their meals and tea/coffee and extra toast. Was I paying extra for the gluten free bread? I surely hope not! The interior of this place is nice enough, nicer than your average old man pub, but staff don’t seem to really know what they’re doing. My food was so overpriced, and with the overall experience I had, I can’t say I’ll be coming back here.

Stumbled upon this bar while walking around Dublin. It was the first place in Ireland where I tried fish and chips. It was very tasty and there was a wide selection of tap beer to choose from. There was not a long wait for a seat and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Had a lovely fish and chips dinner hear with the family. I cannot stress enough about waiters/waitresses taking orders WITHOUTUSING A PENANDPAPER. They got my sister’s meal confused between a starter and a main… And came back twice to ask my father how he would like his steak cooked.

Stumbled upon Arthurs Pub on my way to the Guinness Storehouse and figured I should try some traditional Irish pub grub and wow what a pleasant surprise! I had the Guinness Casserole and my friend had the Irish Stew. We also had the fried Brie salad… WOW! We paired these with a nice cold Bulmers and we could not get enough! Pub grub often has a bad reputation for being a step above the local greasy spoon but that couldn’t be further from the truth here. I would definitely visit Arthurs Pub again if I find myself in Dublin.

Beautiful well lit but still authentically Irish pub. We had the shepherd’s pie, fish and chips and soup of the day. Everything tasted great and the service was absolutely top notch. It’s around the corner from the Guinness Storehouse and is the perfect place to enjoy a pint and lunch before or after heading over.

After a heinous day of flight delays we finally made it to Dublin and went straight here based on Unilocal reviews. My fellow Unilocalers you did not disappoint! A true local despite being nearby the Guinness Storehouse, I was surprised this place wasn’t packed! The bartender gave my husband several tastes without complaint as he tried to find just the right beer. The food, incredible! We shared the seafood chowder which we split due to Shana’s review and it was AMAZING! Next I had the beef and Guinness stew which was just what you think of when it comes to Irish food. My husband had a shepards pie which was equally delicious. My daughter downed her chicken strips which weren’t greasy at all, compared to every other place that serves fish and chips. The atmosphere was relaxing and the value was great. They have live music often as well. A gem of a pub!

Living in the area I have visited most of the pubs on this section of Thomas street and for the most part they are exactly the same. Yet, when going to Arthurs for the first time for a bite to eat I was very happy to find some good music being played, the food was nice for pub grub, and the fantastic selection of whiskey they have. As a bit of a whiskey drinker it was nice to find a few I had never tasted before in an Irish bar. I think I just found my new local.

This is our local pub and we love it. They host loads of interesting events upstairs which are always nice to check out, but our favourite thing to do is come here for a quiet mid week pint and catch up! it’s especially lovely in winter when the fire is going :-)

I was in town on my second day from Texas, stumbled here after my trip to the Guinness storehouse. Best discovery ever. The seafood chowder is absolutely the best thing I ate in my whole two months of visiting Ireland. It was also the first place I really came to love Ireland’s bread. The mixture of bread and chowder was amazing. Big chunks of meat in the soup. They don’t skimp you and the price is very very fair. They have a good selection of beer on tap. I miss this place so badly. It was my favorite and a wonderful, wonderful memory that ill remember forever while traveling alone through Ireland. The service was very friendly. Obviously I’m a tourist/traveler and they were very helpful both times I was in. I walked five miles just to go to this place once more before I flew back to Texas. I was very bittersweet. (this was in February, it apparently never posted and saved as a draft so, here you go!)

Came out of the Guinness Storehouse starving and happened upon this place. We all loved our dinners(Shepard pie, Irish stew, Beef stew). Service was excellent, place is clean and comfortable. Only downside was the free wifi wouldn’t connect.

I have passed this pub so often on my way to work that I was glad to finally make it here for a drink. Popped in after a concert in vicar street. Most people turn right to head back to town when they come out of that venue. But just turn left and head towards the Guinness storehouse to find this place on the corner. It’s a typical dublin pub, but a little different than other traditional spots, as it is on the corner of the street so has large windows looking out onto thomas street. It makes it a great people watching option and brighter than normal. The bar has the usual beers on draught, but also has a selection of craft beers. Imagine the Guinness must be good given the location and the name. The bar tender was pretty friendly too and had a good sense of humour. He told me it gets busy at the weekend here so must go back then to check it out. Blues music is regularly played too along with Irish speaking nights which sounds random but great!

Lovely spot to stop for a bite to eat before or after hitting the Guinness Brewery. Their Irish Lamb Stew, a hearty and delicious bowl packed with heaps of lamb and root vegetables was the perfect meal to rejuvenate me for the night ahead.

Lovely atmosphere! Cozy but not crammed, fireplace to boot! We are here visiting so we purposely chose a large table to have others sit and learn more about the city. Everyone who sat with us were very friendly and helpful! We had the burger and the spicy beef wrap, both were great and hot! The garlic sauce that comes with the wrap is awesome, get some just to try! Definitely worth a stop if you’ve never been!

Great atmosphere! Cozy pub, with a lovely fireplace and nice food. I totally recommend the Blues Band every Friday on the second floor. Also, I have a very nice memory, as I did my wedding reception there and the staff was wonderful!

O to the M to the G — they have Metalman Windjammer on tap here! The beau and I loved this brew since we tried it at the RDS craft beer festival last year and couldn’t find it anywhere else, but of course we didn’t look into Arthur’s which was only 5 bleeding minutes away from home… The pub is actually quite lovely inside, with high ceilings letting in lots of natural light and friendly staff too who(sort of) knows their beer. A good selection of craft beer by bottle and guest tap if you have notions, or the usual suspects and of course Guinness. And it’s only bleeding 5 minutes away from our gaff — convenient innit!
