We came here for our work Christmas meal last year — so thought I’d put a quick review in, for anyone looking for somewhere to book this year. First, booking — very easy to do via email, and the staff were good at accommodating us. Had to pay a deposit(as is usual for Christmas meals), but could do via internet banking or phone to make it easy. We had a late drop out, and didn’t lose the deposit for this person(it just went into the final bill) Length of meal — unlike quite a few restaurants I looked at, we weren’t restricted to a set eating time, where you have to start and finish your meal when the restaurant dictates. This is a definite plus when looking for somewhere to eat(I hate having to eat either v. early or late/being rushed out at the end of a meal so they can cram more people in). Food(yes one of the most important things) — good 3 course dinner with a variety of choice, portion sizes just right, enjoyed by all of us. General ambiance — piano playing in the background, busy but not to crowded. Overall, would recommend it to people looking for a place for a large group meal this Christmas.

It took Brasserie 7 chefs 45 minutes to make a toasted cheese sandwich. What a joke. Many better options very nearby such as Musashi and Oxmantown.

If you scan regularly you will see this place has deals on NON-STOP! I don’t even know how they make money, as these deals are usually ridiculously cheap. Ours was 22 euro for 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 wine. I had been here previously about two years ago, and was not wowed by the food, nor the atmosphere, nor the service. But I wanted to give it another try, and for that money… well, you can’t go wrong really. Again, the service left a lot to be desired to. It’s not that it was bad per se, but the staff are just oozing that they really would prefer to be anywhere but there. A smile goes a long way! Our food was decent, a smoked salmon salad for me, and chicken leg for main. Nothing I couldn’t have made myself though. One of the main reasons that I probably shall not return(even with a cheapo voucher) is that I don’t like the interior at all. It’s a huge space, very high ceilings, not many decorations, and it’s cold. I dare say even my canteen at work has more atmosphere.

Very nice interiors. Unfortunately the food was very mediocre. Went for lunch with a friend with a voucher but ended up paying more then we expected even though we didn’t have any wine. Service wasn’t too bad but I won’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend it.

I was here last night with one of my pals for a catch up, having purchased an enticing voucher from GrabOne for € 19.90 for 2 courses and a glass of vino each! I had been here before and loved it but I don’t remember the staff being as friendly. I was bowled over by the pleasantness and chat from the waiter, from the moment we walked in until we left. For starters I had the Irish Goat’s Cheese, Roasted Garlic & Honey Salad which came with Candied Walnuts & Raspberry Vinaigrette. It was beautiful, bursting with sweetness and evened out with the creamy coolness of the cheese. The only critique was the walnuts were very VERY chewy and I felt my teeth sticking together more than once. My friend had the Chicken wings which also looked delish! For Mains I had the Twice cooked Daube of Irish Beef, which consosts of slow cooked Irish beef in red wine sauce, Horseradish Mash and compote of Cabbage, pancetta & rosemary. The beef was mouthwatering and the mash and cabbage were equally as nice, but I’m not sure where the pancetta was hiding??? My friend had the Butter Thyme Roasted Breast of Chicken served with Mash Potato, Greens, and Creamy Wild Mushroom Sauce. As soon as I had seen it I thought it was going to be a rerun of Avenues finest shit, but she said was gorgeous. We didn’t have a second thought about ordering another glass of vino and dessert! We decided to share two. The Lemon Posset with Lime & Coconut Cream and the Baileys Cheesecake. They were both like a mini piece of heaven in my mouth. I adore lemon desserts and cheesecake and these were fab. Definitely worth a visit as they always have great deals on, great food and fabulous service! What more could you want?

They must have taken some of the reviews to heart as I had a great meal here last night, served by a very friendly and efficient waiter. Like many others I went with a voucher, mine giving 2 courses and a glass of house wine for 2 people. I loved my meal and thought there was a great mix and some less usual items, the soup of the day being spinach and coconut cream!, and the wine was pretty tasty and generously served, so good in fact, that we felt duty bound to try desert. This is where they really shone with a divine bailys cheesecake and a citrus posset. It’s a large space, and far from full, but they kept the patrons there last night to one of the sections and it gave it just enough of a buzz. I will certainly be coming back, and using their Unilocal check in offer, 50% off food, yes please!

I’m here with a half price voucher, it’s a great deal! The place is very quite and nice with very kind staff. I had the leg of duck as main course, it’s delicious! We’ll definitely come back again :)

Like others, I ended up here because we were given a voucher, which the giver obtained via groupon/living social. Everything about this place wasn’t working. It just doesn’t know what it wants to be: are you a hotel restaurant, fine dining experience, Asian fusion, or pub? It’s hard to tell. The service was incredibly poor. It took two of us 2 hours to finish our meal because they brought our dinners to people at the table next to us! It took about 20 min for our drinks and an hour to get our apps. When the food finally came, it was fine at best. At least the comped a round of drinks(for 2) because of the mess up with the order. The atmosphere was awkward to say the least. Let’s just say, if I were given another voucher, I wouldn’t go back.

Ok so myself and my lady went in with a groupon voucher for two starters and two mains. The service was good, both the waiter and hostess were very polite which is why this place salvaged two stars. I got the spicy chicken wings followed by the daube of beef. The chicken wings came out swimming in a spicy sauce that overpowers the senses and made me feel ill. The daube of beef came with celeriac which was lathered in spices and tasted strongly of powdered garlic. My girlfriend had the tomato soup with a slice of uncooked doughy bread followed by a dry chicken main course and vegetables that had not been fully cooked. Overall not a place I would visit again in a hurry!

To start if with, the place is pretty fancy! It’s a classy restaurant and the service is amazing. Not too pricey though. The food is outstanding and very very well presented. I literally left out wanting more of that food. I will surely come back here once I’m back in Dublin!

I was never inside this building when it was Rhodes, and always wondered what it was like. I finally got to go on the eve of Valentine’s Day, and hoped we would not be subjected to cramped seating, bad service, or overpriced menus synonymous with Valentine’s Day meals. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be. Form the onset, we were greeted by overburdened staff and waiters. When we finally got a seat, even having booked in advance, we waited 25 minutes for our order to be taken, then another 5 for our drinks — it was only a bottle of Prosecco. Because it was a Valentines dinner for us, I pushed the frustration back inside and stayed calm! One the plus side, the food was very good. Loads of flavour, particularly with the steak, and the presentation was second to none. The toilets were spotless too. The night was topped off with confusion over the voucher we used. All in all, it was not a great experience, and one which I will not do again. Feeling bad for being harsh, I do have to keep telling myself that they were horribly understaffed — but at the same time, they were not very apologetic about it! Argh, dunno what to do!!! Ok for I’m in no hurry for my dinner heads, I like my food looking pretty heads, and, I don’t have a Groupon voucher, it’s a gift voucher so the offer is different stop overcharging me heads!

Ok, so it’s more a 3.5. We went with a voucher: 2 starters, two mains for 19Euro. Excellent value. The restaurant is quite nicely decorated but it is huge and not very busy so it’s lacks a bit of atmosphere. The staff was friendly and efficient, we didn’t have to wait long for our food and cocktails. The Cosmo was a bit on the weak side, unfortunately. We had goats cheese salad and chicken wings for starters, both were very nice, the portion of wings was massive for a starter. Our mains of duck confit on lentils and sea bass on risotto were ok. The duck was certainly better than the fish dish. The risotto had way too much dill which overpowered everything else. Pity. I would go back to Brasserie 7 but only if they had another deal on.

Very lovely place. The internal decoration is just amazing. I went there on a voucher and everything was alright. Very nice staff, superb food, specially the dessert(which you can see the pic). I def recommend this place and I’ll go back there someday for sure.

Solid three stars. We were for the early bird and there’s an option for 2 courses for 2 people and a bottle of wine for 50 euro, which is pretty handy. My main was pretty good but my dessert wasn’t great. Sticky toffee pudding was more like a lump of overly dense, undercooked cake(I still ate it though!), and the side of fries I ordered was overcooked. The house wine was really nice. The service was friendly but not all that prompt. I think they could rethink how they seat people when they’re not busy.

If I were to judge a restaurant by first impressions(the greeting of host/hostess) this establishment would get a big fat ‘F’ for FAIL. As soon as my friend and I walked in we got a chilly reception and were told immediately to «take a seat over there» and was pointed(not led) to what shouldn’t even be considered a lounge. More like a sparsely furnished living room or a oversized hallway with a few couches thrown in to give the few lucky patrons a place to sit for the hour long wait for a table. We made a reservation for 7PM for 2 people and she didn’t even ask us for our names. After sitting for 5 mins we went to ask if there was a bar for us to sit at. We were then«told» in a very irritated tone that she was just about to bring us the drink menu. We looked at the 2 other parties waiting for their tables, who also had drink menus… No drinks to be found though. Maybe it’s just to create an illusion of seeming to care… we were the lucky 2 though that were seated in 10 minutes… This establishment obviously doesn’t understand the point of the reservation system. Now let’s talk about the food. It was above average. I enjoyed it it just took awhile to get to our table. For appetisers, I ordered the goats cheese tart(short crust, caramelised onions, and rocket) while my friend had the prawn salad which looked. Eh. Nothing unique or great. Main course: I ordered the confit of duck which was served with a huge quenelle of mashed potatoes and sautéed mangetouts and green beans. It tasted lovely I just wish there was more hoisin sauce and was hot. The dish was cold which means the food has been sitting there for awhile… My friend ordered the supreme of chicken with the same sides and he said it was really lovely. I was too full to try his. The ambience of the restaurant is lovely. There was a piano player who also sang. I just think the layout of the restaurant is extremely inefficient. Our server, as lovely as she was, was completely MIA after getting our orders. My dinner companion and I walked out and there was many people waiting for a table which was a pity. Had the staff taken more notice we would’ve been out of there in an hour but due to the pace of the evening it took almost 2 hours for us to get to our other plans. Snore. Conclusion: 3 stars for food. 1 star for service. C’mon b7 let’s get this working like a well oiled machine! Best person there was the water boy. Very proper in filling water. Best guy on staff

A friend suggested this for a Monday night just after Christmas dinner for a few of us. It was in that few days between Christmas and new year, so we didn’t expect it to be busy, and it wasn’t. Exec summary: I liked it, friendly staff, good food, and nice place. More details: It’s the former Rhodes D7 restaurant. As a result, I think it has that vibe of once having had aspirations above its current station. It’s a lovely venue, with outdoor seating, and two tiers indoor, nicely kitted out. A bit«cold» when relatively empty(as it was the night we were there) but would be great when suitably filled and buzzing. Key thing is the food — which was good. Small enough venue, but something to please everyone, and between us we had steak, duck, and fish(halibut) as mains, with a variety of meat /veg starters, plus some desserts. There was only one dish that got a «meh» response from everyone’s choices that evening, which I think is a good batting average. Staff were great — very helpful, very friendly. I’d go again. The owners are clearly doing lots of promotions and deals at the moment, in order to entice people in and get them to try it out. I think they also need to think about mixing it up a bit — perhaps trying a few different things to get the footfall up. They’re Sunday brunch with Jazz is one good example of this. I’d recommend giving it a go.
