This teeny kiosk bang smack in the centre of Heuston Station is something of a lifesaver. The service is incredible, and it’s amazing they don’t go mad with cabin fever inside in the tiny space. The queue moves quickly, the coffee is always delicious and the prices are great. What’s more, you get a free chocolate of your choosing with each beverage. I’m sure I don’t need to go into how much a box of chocolates might cost here, so it’s really quite generous of them, and it’s just a lovely touch. I’m a sucker for the orange crunch, I really should branch out but there’s something about chocolate that turns me back into a stubborn, picky child, and I walk away delighted with my little truffle every time. My favourite coffee is the white mocha, it saves me sweetening my coffee and it’s just the right amount of richness, roast and sweetness. I’ve tried some of the hot chocolates, the mint in particular, but they were just a bit sweet for me, and generally if I’m gonna fork out in a café, I’mma get me some caffeine. The new AMT is a definite competitor for Butler’s, but when I’ve got that sweet tooth, I’m always gonna come back here.

Butlers is an old reliable of mine when I need coffee around town. And you get a free chocolate with it that’s divine. I usually go for the Vanille. The only drawback to that is the price is a little higher than your other Dublin coffee houses. This is a handy little kiosk in Heuston Station where there is usually a small queue, but they usually get through it quickly. Today however there appeared to be only one person behind the counter, so the queue moved a little slower. But she played a blinder taking orders and then serving them up, two or three at a time. But when I moved to the sugar /milk counter to get my coffee next, I noticed there was another staff member in behind, sitting up on the counter out of sight. Union break? I dunno, but I felt it was a bit mean to let your co-working get run off her feet on a busy Saturday morning. The four stars are for her :)
