Simple and basic Chopsticks offer cheap Asian food. They do a deal for € 5.95 where you can choose 4 dishes and a drink. They do have some fairly nice choices such as King prawns in sweet chilli, black bean sauce and stir-fried broccoli. The food was quite tasty and there were(kind of) healthy options other than the usual cheap greasy, battered chicken balls which i detest. The food is served on little plastic trays with plastic cutlery or chopsticks for the more dexterous. It’s not fancy but the place is clean. I am aware however that the food may suffer from being there more than the requisite 90 minutes as i’ve heard from others but the café was busy that day so the food hopefully wasn’t lying there under the light for hours.

Ok so it’s nothing fancy, but does exactly what you’d expect from it, it’s fast Asian food at a low price. It’s the type of place I pop into after the gym for a quick refuel. There is a special offer for € 5.99, you get a selection of three items of your choice all in the one plastic box(fancy!) and a drink. Both times I have been here it had just opened for the day so the food was freshly prepared and so had not been sitting under a heat lamp four hours. For the money the food is pretty good and the staff are really friendly.

I’ve had some pretty bad food in my time, but I can’t remember a time before now when I threw food away. Chopsticks has changed all that. I wandered in with reasonably low expectations. The place is bright and open with a range of dishes on offer, and perhaps this lulled me into a sense of security. After 3 minutes of back and forth and pointing, the staff realised that the stir-fried vegetables were indeed on the menu. They had to be made up in the back of the restaurant apparently, so perhaps this was a first-time event. I asked for the sweet chilli sauce and sat down to wait. After about 5 minutes of waiting, I got my food. The staff, it must be said, were lovely, and quite apologetic about the wait. They even threw in free rice! Once I took the food away things began to take a dark turn. The vegetables were unseasoned bar a thick layer of grease. There was a pungent stench of what I could only approximate as wet dog. I decided to power through and tried to start eating the stuff, but I just couldn’t manage to get over the smell and lingering taste that brought back memories of childhood pets after day-long mountain hikes. Skip it. Maybe even pretend it’s not there in case you somehow get tempted.
