If you’re looking for gifts or decorative items for your home from local artists, you hit the jackpot here. This ‘studio’, run by a group of local artists, offers wall hangings, ceramics, jewelry, clothing items and a heck of a lot more, covering a wide range of price points. I love browsing here and always always find a little treasure perfect for my home or for the lucky recipient of a gift! While there are other larger shops that feature items made in Ireland, I’d say this jewel of a shop has a bit more heart and soul. Plus, it’s located on one of the coolest lanes in Dublin City Center! Shop a little and then head across the lane to Queen of Tarts or Dolce Vita for a bite…

A lovely collection of wimsical artisan items, all from talented Ireland designers and makers. Think Etsy meets Anthropologie. I couldn’t bring myself to buy any Guinness themed suviniors and I worried I wouldn’t be able to find any any unique gifts for my family while visiting the Temple Bar area. So glad I found this craft studio to save me from the embarrassment of having to come home empty handed to them. And in fact, I had to restrain myself from buying everything for myself. I would assume the collections change with different designers but what I found was beautiful delicate jewelry, prints for wall hanging, handmade soaps and cute stoneware pottery peices. The shop was peaceful and wonderfully laid out to showcase each deaigners items. It was welcome reprieve from the typical Temple Bar are maddness.

There are lots to choose from and with their co op setup, genuines bargains are to be found. Stop in this shop when you are in Dublin, I am so happy that we did.

Fantastic to have a space like this in Dublin at our fingertips. Many of the artists who sell at Cow’s Lane have their stock for sale in here throughout the week. The shop is not limited to just these however, and it is absolutely packed to the brim with treasure upon treasure, most importantly, of local Dublin craft. The other great thing about this spot is the wide price range — you can always find something for your budget. There is nothing over-the-top expensive in here, considering the price of materials and workmanship invested in each piece. The staff here are also really genuinely lovely people, and extremely knowledgeable about their stock. Bridget R has written an excellent review outlining the core values behind the studio — a co-op that brings together the work of sculptors, designers, painters, tailors, and much more. You are guaranteed to walk out of here with a spring in your step, and if not a piece of unique Irish design under your arm, most definitely an inspired mind!

Great group of dedicated artists and designers run this unique and fun spot for art, clothes, jewelery and more. I especially like the rings, earrings, and broaches from blaze and spakle but there is so much more and reasonable prices, too. Highly recommended.

It’s so lovely to know that Dublin will never run out of surprises. Already a magic place for those in the know, Cow’s Lane has delivered yet another marvellous, relevant spot for art lovers and collectors of things fun, fashionable and quirky: Cows Lane Designer Studio. A core group of designers and artists, already familiar to those who’ve frequented the Saturday Designers Mart at Cow Lane, formed the co-operative behind the March ’09 debut of this unique store. As a more permanent version of that weekend delight, the studio boasts a eclectic collage of work by sculptors, jewellers, painters and artists whose work stretches into multimedia. Here you’ll be able to take home that life-sized robot you’ve always wanted, along with a few delicate gold-wire bracelets, a scarlet hat and a sturdy hand-tooled notebook. Step into this brightly lit and colourful shop for an instant and powerful sense of the creative minds behind this venture. What’s more, it’s easy to bring that feeling home as the artists have priced their works for every day shoppers as well as serious collectors. Note to shoppers: bring cash, currently the shop is unable to accept credit /debit cards. Come here FIRST for a taste of brilliant, creative and modern Dublin.

Associated with the designers market that takes place on Cows Lane, this shop sells all the art that is being displayed on the street. And it’s a good thing that they have this space on rainy days like today. The shop was very crowded on this Thursday afternoon and I was pleased to find out that some items were within my price range. What attracted me the most was the glass fusion jewellery by Deirdre Griffin. Griffin makes some really pretty pieces that are simple and colourful. A chunky ring goes for 15 or 20 euro while a pendant is more dear(30 euro). Besides jewellery, you can get some great decorative furniture. There was a log seat that was sanded down and cut into a cub that was selling for a whopping 400 euro. It was beautiful but sadly I don’t have the cash to buy it.
