I was not impressed here. Sure their stuff is nice looking, and the sales staff was friendly, but when I told them I was interested in a platinum wedding band they over-​quoted me by DOUBLE. Seriously, they wanted to charge me 3700 euro for something Tiffany & Co. only charges 1800 euro for. I have no idea how these people stay in business.
When I asked them why it was so expensive they gave me a B.S. answer. The sales manager tried to justify their outrageous price by saying «Tiffany can charge less because they are so big and have more buying power».
Er… doesn’t Tiffany’s have to pay the same price for precious metals that you do? The price of gold, platinum & silver are regulated by the international commodities market, not how much «buying power» the big stores have. Haha, sorry I’m not buying it. I have a feeling these people will try to rip you off if you have a custom piece made. Go elsewhere. We are.

Since christmas is just around the corner I decided to check out the Designyard to see if I could find any nice presents here. And I nearly walked straight back out when I saw the prices. In fairness though, the jewelry is beautiful and well made and probably well worth the price. And there is also some very nice arty pieces you could use to decorate your home. The variety of different styles was great and I’m pretty sure that if you were interested in investment pieces you would find them here. But as you can imagine, I did not find any christmas presents for my friends and family in here.

I found myself pleasantly surprised by Design Yard. I expected it to be a load of over-​priced tosh aimed at tourists and people with more money than sense.
Sure the stuff is expensive but actually it is different, it actually is stuff you’d be hard pressed to find a cheaper version of elsewhere. Unlike a lot of other expensive store the emphasis here is on the design rather than the label, although I suspect people who knew these things might know about the label too.
I was impressed with their jewelry and even saw some items that suited my fussy taste. The also have other objet d’art which are unusual and interesting. Still the price is pretty high!
