The brewbaker sandwich is excellent! Coffee is above average too. The inside of the Frederick street location is not much to look at, but it’s often quiet(especially downstairs), so a good place to have a quiet chat. And the staff are friendly too. One of my favourite places to eat in the city.

Used to go to the one around the corner a lot, until I had a disagreement with a manager who wanted to charge me over 8 euros for a sandwich. However, that was a couple years back. More recently we’ve gone to this one on a good few Saturday mornings to meet mates for breakfast. Its not a very comfortable spot. For some reason my mate likes it. so we go to keep him happy I guess. The food is ok. The breakfast is not the greasy spoon type, but its lacking a bit in flavor or something. They do a good sambo, you get a decent amount of filling and if your eating in, they cut it into triangles!!! I love triangle shaped sambos! Its not somewhere I’d go for a special treat, but to grab a bite its ok.

went there spontaneously with a friend because we wanted to avoid the big corporate coffee shops for a change.(: the inside decór feels very cafeteria-like & i would’ve probably left if it wasn’t for my non-judgmental friend, sad but true. anyway i can’t really comment on the food because i didn’t get any although my friend did get a toasted cheese sandwich, which she liked. i don’t know if this is just because i’m so fussy about customer service, having worked almost a decade(christ i’m old) in the field but it’s definitely sub-par. i ordered the hot chocolate & i asked if i could have whipped cream on it because i’m a fat kid & she was reluctant but then finally said«yes but it would cost me extra». however when i asked how much, she looked at her boss(i’m assuming) & asked how much. the boss lady TOTALLY looked like she wouldn’t have charged for it ATALL but then finally said«uhm i don’t know 15 – 20 cents?». that just put me off so much! i know it’s only 20 cents but come on, if one employee isn’t gonna charge for it, no one else should! so i ended up being a skinny kid for the day without whipped cream.): i would’ve given the place two stars BUT the hot chocolate was insanely good so it deserved its very own star! i don’t think i’d go back unless i had an insane craving for hot chocolate.

They really know how to make a sandwich !!! The Brewbaker special is one of my favourite things in the world — real comfort food and so fresh — Bacon, chicken, lettuce and garlic mayo. The owner is there every day serving behind the counter and I think it really show in the quality of the food they produce.

Excellent price for value. They serve delicious coffee and filling but light lunches. Loads of interesting sandwiches but something for everyone. Brewbaker makes everything themselves daily right in store and this includes coleslaw and salads. So fresh and yummy!

A great lunchtime sandwich place which is a little off the beaten track. This is a little coffee shop with a good bit of seating on two levels. Sandwiches are made to order at the counter before sitting. They also have a take out sandwich place next door. While there isn’t a huge variety available what they do sell is very good. I’ve always been impressed with their baked ham, as it’s real baked ham cut off the bone for your sandwich rather than the pressed pre-sliced version you get almost everywhere else. It does get a bit crowded at the peak lunchtime and then tables might feel like they’re a little too close together, but it’s hard to think of a café in town where that same problem doesn’t apply.

Tucked away on South Fredrick St, just out of the way enough to avoid mainstream traffic, Brewbaker is a great place to pop in for a sandwich or a coffee. Surprisingly spacious(on first glance it appears tiny until you notice there’s a downstairs too!), it’s popular with the suits for lunch, and students much of the rest of the time. Avoid the lunchtime rush, which does tend to be fairly busy, and hit it a bit off peak. The sandwiches are really good, and made to order which is always nice. Personally, I’m a fan of table service rather than canteen-style ordering, but then I’m a lazy git so maybe it’s unfair to complain about that. If you’re looking for a quick bite between meetings or classes, you could do worse than popping in here…
