Very good brunch: very tasty and week cooked. Try the desserts: the butter pudding is the best I have ever eaten in Dublin

Ok jeeeez the waiter my god … he forgot to bring us our starter … we were waiting a good half hour until it was copped. in fairness to him he didn’t charge us for it then so fair play to him … Now . Get this… my friend ordered a non alcoholic cocktail cause he was driving . They gave him vodka in it and it was only copped after it was drank. My god.

Bank holiday monday, needed to choose wisely as to what the final foodie nail in the proverbial coffin would be, I needed to spend wisely… flavour, price and quality could not be compromised and this place nailed it. The po bo sliders were a first for me, quite a big portion for a starter and the Homecut Crisps that filled the basket were a great addition to the dish. I went for the burger next, a coarse grind of quality meat, just right, with a little hint of pink, with a side of chilli cheese fries, a good proportion of chilli on it and perfectly melted cheese on top, so many places get it wrong, either leaving it under the lights to long… you take your first chip and the all the cheese comes with it or not long enough… why even serve it??? On the other side of the table, the beautifully cooked steak was been quickly devoured, i managed to grab a slice, i went for another but my hand was fended off by a steak knife. It was that good, i was willing to take the hit. Ill be back though, Ill be getting the steak… but i wont be sharing!

I went to this Ranelagh Classic on Saturday for a late lunch. I had the steak and eggs, and the tropical pop juice. Firstly– really cool diner space. It has an edgy vibe and the music was amazing. Secondly, my steak was pretty good. The eggs were way overcooked. Did it stop me from eating all of it? No way. It was a huge plate with salad and crunchy/salty fries. The menu is weirdly formatted so I didn’t realize it was 18 quid when I chose it — ah well, it was good. My friend got the huevos rancheros which I tried(more like ate half of it) and I thought it was really great. She didn’t like it so much and said she got a ‘licorice’ taste in some bites — weird. The tropical pop was amazing and so flavorful. I felt like I was paying for real, fresh juice. Was it bottled? No clue, but it was delicious. I would go to Dil’s just for that. Third– the service was fine. Nothing to write home about, but I think that’s their style. Cool, calm, collected. I would definitely go back for my own huevos rancheros, and at 2pm on a Saturday we got a seat right away! This would be a good place for family visiting from out of town and you need an Irish original for brunch!

It’s okay for brunch. Lots of quantity, okay quality, okay brunch. The atmosphere, music, waitresses are very nice which makes the whole experience pretty nice. Only if you’re hungry and/or hangover. Lacking of healthy options

Surprised to see how long since I’d been here. Popped in for an impulse dinner. Even on a Tuesday evening it was very busy. We were seated at the counter where we watched the cocktail guy making buckets of margaritas for the thirsty punters. And very good they were too. The menu and wine list are much better than previously.(I have a feeling that the only thing that hasn’t changed is the name. This is a completely different restaurant than the 2011 incarnation. I understand it’s a sister restaurant to the Sth. Great George’s St 777, currently my favourite place to eat) I ordered ribs and my companion got a burger. Both were excellent and the generous servings of fries were to die for. We noticed, however, a lot of nachos — as a main course — going out and very good that looked too. Memo to self: next time order the nachos! Despite how busy it was, there were only two servers on the floor including the aforementioned cocktail maker. We expected service to be slow as result and resigned ourselves to quaffing copious margaritas while we waited. Astonishingly, service was brisk and friendly and quick. No idea how they managed that. Props to the two guys for sure. Hopefully, it won’t be so long before we come back.

I’m literally only reviewing the nachos. They are large(my roommate and I shared for brunch). Melty, spicy, crunchy, meaty. Everything you could possibly want in nachos. And — unlike other unnamed establishments in Dublin — they do NOT use doritos as a base — YAY!!! As an American constantly in search of good«comfort» foods here in Dublin, Dillinger’s definitely wins out for their nachos. Staff is friendly and outgoing to boot. Would definitely come back again for this treat. The fizzy brunch cocktail was a perfect apéritif.

We used come here every Saturday for Brunch before the *New* Dillingers opened and loved it. However, since reopening the staff changed and have been rude and inattentive. Also, what kind of a restaurant charges € 16 for a hot dog? On our last visit we waited 1 hours and 20 minutes for our starters. Our mains took ages to arrive too even though they were basic — Nachos and a Burger. We had to ask 3 times to get another drink and 4 times just to pay the bill. What a crock! There’s much better food on offer in Ranelagh such as Kinara Kitchen — I recommend you go there instead. € 16 hot dogs!!!

I liked this place the most on our Food tour of Ranelagh. We ordered 3 starters to share amongst 4 people. The pulled pork tacos, the pork belly, and the tuna tartare. The pulled pork was my favorite as it really had every flavor profile. It was the special that night so isn’t on the menu but I they have it on special again I highly recommend you order it! The pork belly was lovely but not the best I’ve had. I loved the tuna as it had so many layers of flavor from the fresh fish and avocado and mango… the concept is tropical but it really highlighted the fish. I’d love to go to try out more things on their menu.

My girlfriend and I went here four months ago and had a terrible evening. We sent this email to dillingers but didn’t even get a reply so now to Unilocal for all to read. Dear Sir/Madam, We had heard great things from a lot of our friends about your restaurant and as we try to eat once a week we decided to give it a go. Upon arrival we were seated under the speaker. I am aware that music is used to create the atmosphere of the place. However, we found ourselves shouting at each other and couldn’t hear the waitress when she first called over. We had to ask her to lower the volume slightly.(This makes us sound a lot older than we actually are but the music was too loud for dining) The main reason for my email is that the food was extremely poor. We had the crab and calamari for starters. The calamari was fine at best. The only way I can describe the crab was strange. The lemon was over powering and the crab was quite dull. It definitely wasn’t worth the price. For our mains, I had the pork chop. The presentation was lacklustre and unappetising. The accompanying sweet potatoes were hard and the pork chop was served luke warm. My girlfriend had the BBQ ribs. The sauce was sickly sweet. Due to this we needed to play it safe and order an extra portion of chips just so we had something to eat. We complained that the food was well below our expectations when we were asked by the waitress how the meal was. She apologised but didn’t offer us a complimentary drink or any exclusions from the bill. This left us deflated after spending over € 80 on a meal neither of us enjoyed any part of. I’ve never complained to a restaurant before and I have been debating whether to send this email for the past week. However, I feel the night was so underwhelming that I needed to bring this to your attention. It was the worst meal I’ve had out in Dublin and especially given the glowing reviews from our friends.

Oh my, where do I begin? This is a sister restaurant for Butcher Grill, so we’re already starting on a positive note. The place is nice, and was able to fit the big group. We ordered a lot of food, and I can say that everything we had was delicious. We had almost all their snacks items, as well as prawns for sides among other things. Their steak was delicious too. All the portions were big. This was definitely a great meal, and the place has a bit of a hipster feel.

I’m undecided about Dillingers. I love the interior and it’s definitely popular, so there’s a nice buzz about the place. There’s just something that doesn’t really work for me. It looks and feels like a casual diner, but the food isn’t cheap and their beer selection is pretty sad. We ordered the gnocchi with spinach and fennel foam(€ 7), and the special of the day — a roast cod with grilled prawns & curried chickpeas and vegetables. The gnocchi was enjoyable, but a pretty small portion. There was more foam in the bowl than anything else and, to be honest, I’m not sure why it was heaped on because it didn’t really add anything to the dish. The grilled cod was actually really nice, especially with the large grilled prawns. We both liked the chickpea vegetable stew it came with… it was filling but not heavy. I just thought it was a little overpriced for what it was at € 24. I did, however, see they have quite a few different rotating weeknight specials, including Margarita Mondays and Nacho Tuesdays… so maybe I just ordered the wrong things. Coming back for 2-for-1 cocktails and bar food might be more up their alley. I’m going to reserve my right to change this review after that.

My husband and I always go to Dillingers for a Sunday Brunch. We just love so much their Eggs Florentine, also we order some bacon on the side(one portin is enough for 2) and that’s amazing. Staff are very cool and funky, love the chill atmosphere. Also, went there for an evening bite with a friend, didn’t really find the evening menu very attractive, I had Beef Nachos, which I love, but my friend went for a salad and fried calamari(starters)… Food was good and the portions were huge, we couldn’t finish.

So, I have to say… I was(at first) reluctantly dragged here by a friend who was craving their nachos. We showed up late on a saturday evening without a reservation. I was expecting it to be busy and for us to be turned away. While they were busy, we were promptly greeted and offered a space at the bar. The staff that was working were SO nice and pleasant. They came by and were joking with us while they made drinks at the bar, and the nachos came out SUPER fast(which was good because I was starving). The service was a MILLION times better. I do still think that a lot of their food is overpriced, however the service definitely made up for it this time.

Service was ok, bit of a long wait. Food was good, loved the nachos but like who doesn’t? Upbeat, chilled, paulty atmosphere, perfect if ur accompanied by the likes of your groups«apprentice». Defo will be returning for proper dinner, not just brunch. Namaste y’all x

Great place in the centre of Ranelagh. They have one of the best brunch menus around. Tried the eggs benedict with bacon on the side. Was beautiful! Ambience is very casual and funky. Would definitely go back. Staff also attentive. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that it’s pretty expensive.

Planned coming here days in advance…, high hopes were shared by all, literally couldn’t stop thinking«Rachel don’t fuck this decision up». I went for the fish cakes and the table got nachos to share which wer nice not cheesy enough for me. The menu was the brunch and for me was not big enough and everything included poached eggs. Which was not something I appreciated… Any1 can make poached eggs. The group was Very disappointed all round… Cool little restaurant but very very slow service and a mediocre eggy brunch. The dinner menu excites me so I will be back for another go but alas… will not be bak for brunch.

Oh man this place was just what I needed — I was so happy it felt like it was Christmas morning with July 4thBBQ. I know that didn’t make sense but you’ll understand when you hear what I ordered… We started with the calamari and pork belly — the cork belly has something that taste like five spice or anise… so it’s definitely not for everyone. Very delicious though and the melons/salad went great with it. The calamari was good — it’s very hard to ever go wrong with calamari. For my main course I ordered the BBQ pulled pork sandwich(T_T I’m still thinking about it) with purple cabbage slaw in it. The sandwich came with a bowl of chili cheese fries and a buttered grilled corn on the cob. Oh god the chili cheese fries were also delicious. The meat was just a tad bit sweet and the cheese was melted perfectly; it wasn’t too greasy as the chili cheese fries you get in American chains. The BBQ pulled pork sandwich was AMAZING/perfect/just-what-I-needed. For dessert(oh yes we got that too) we ordered the chocolate raspberry brownie and the pear crumble. Both came with ice cream, both were delicious, but yes it was too much food. The portions here are pretty decent so think before you order more, more, more! :) I am so happy.

I love the look of this place and the décor is modern, stylish and simple. The food is also really good. I had the chicken wings to start and they were divine. The nachos I had for main was also good. The service was a bit slow and inattentive. The place was packed and got so warm inside that we had to leave for a gasp of fresh air as soon as we finished our meal. I would have rated this place much higher if it wasn’t so warm and had better service.
