This is a cute little store. And they even had a sale when I went there. The service was impeccable, so this was a place by my own heart. Having worked int eh costumer service industry myself for quite some time, i appreciate when there is good service and as I have established in most of my reviews I like a good deal and this was the perfect place. I got two face-painting kits for the price of one. That was a great deal. They were somewhat busy in there and even though they had a lot of questions from costumers they took their time explaining their inventory and showed me where to find the product. See that is service. They do not have to hover over me but if i ask a question, I expect it to be answered to the best of their abilities and they did that perfectly. After having had a look at the products, I had made my choice but before buying I wanted to check out a couple of more places and they had no problem holding on to the things for 20 minutes. When I got back 30 minutes later they remembered me and I could go straight to the counter and purchase the things I had had them leave aside for me. The selection of products was not the best but for the kind of store that they are, it does not really matter as it seemed like they had some of the more popular selections. I am a fan and should I ever need toys again, this would be my first choice to go.

How sweet are the toys in ELC? I’ve made this a regular stop on the gift-rounds for that growing brood of nieces and nephews in the family. The playthings at ELC encourage imaginative play and interaction from cot to first class with plenty of books, affiliated play sets; art and music supplies; plush toys and work table goods, plus loads of splash pools, bubble kits and fun outdoor activity sets that get those youngsters out of the sitting room and into the wilds of their own back garden. I’m in love with the family-friendly atmosphere in the shop as well. There’s always a few under-fives browsing the books or playing with the doll sets and blocks on the sales floor. It feels good to shop here, knowing the presents bought here aren’t contributing to DS brain numbing or Barbie bleeeeech.

The Early Learning Centre sells educational toys for babies to 10 year olds. They have wooden«baby vehicles», rattles, cot toys, dolls houses, teddies, dressing-up gear, jigsaws and puzzles, blackboards, sandpits, art materials, action figures and playsets to put them in, toy cars, trains, buses and construction vehicles, children’s science kits, books, DVDs, CDs of music and stories, guitars and other musical instruments, microphones and recording equipment, and many more things besides. My mother is a play therapist, and she comes here to stock up her playroom. It’s also a great place to pick up presents for wee ones, especially if you are adverse to all things pink and plastic that are sold in most of the other toy shops.

Okay, so it looks a little worthy from the outside, what with the forest green sign, but inside you would hardly know that it was educational at all. The toy selection is top notch and it is refreshing not to be ocularly assaulted by Bratz and Twilight et al. I recommend the books section, where there are several choices with in-built puppets, or one of the politically correct doll houses.
