Hidden gem in the Italian quarter. This tiny food place is located in the back part of the Asian store. It’s always full with local ppl which is great sign. They do a plate menu for 5.50 € and you can choose from the three different dishes plus you will get a small bowl of miso soup. Portions are very generous and the food it self is amazing. The variety of ready made food is great Id say 8 dishes every day, plus you can order another types from the board menu, slightly more expensive. This place was recently renovated and it looks much cleaner as it use to be. I’m not saying it was dirty just it was a bit shabby. This Asian food hall is definitely my favourite one in Dublin! Money and quality wise.

You eat what you pay for. We got the deal for € 5.50 and it was very filling. I’m Korean and I cook so the food that we got was worth what we paid for. The miso soup wasn’t authentic miso soup and you add your own salt to your taste but it was really disappointing. I would pass on it. The kimchi pork was good if you like a sour kick(they didn’t cook the fermented kimchi that long). Meatballs were overhyped and taste like average meatballs you put in spaghetti at home. It isn’t even Korean style meatballs. Marinated chicken: soft, flavorful and good. Would get again. The prices here are really good for being in Ireland which was the best part of you’re on a budget and tryna get full for the day

Came here for their lunch deal of choosing 3 ingredients and a plate of rice with free refill of miso soup for only € 5.50. I thought it was really a good deal and they are very generous with their portions. You could definitely share between 2 people and be full. Though their selection of food is rather limited by quantity and that it can get rather greasy, it is still pretty tasty. People who love eating sauce with their white plain rice will definitely love this place. I love their beef and their pork balls. Both are my absolute favourite. Cheapest and probably most worth for a quick and good lunch for anyone — students and working adults.

Tasty Korean food with great meal deals. The real deal in Dublin. The bibimbap is amazing.

This is a 2 in 1 place: it’s a Market, with a restaurant in the back Now, very nice choices in the restaurant(it’s not a fancy place, but don’t get discouraged by that fact) It’s about generous portions with an affordable price(and nice non-spice options as well) They also have some choice of oriental drinks, like Ice Tea, Aloe Vera, to go with the dishes.

I came here about 2 or 3 times to buy groceries and Japanese ingredients like Tofu, noodles and miso since it’s much cheaper than buying the same thing in a British store like M&S, and has the proper taste. Though not as big as some of the other Asian supermarkets in Dublin, they do have a good variety of stuff from meat, Asian vegetables, frozen goods and sauces to dried foods, drinks and sweets. However, they don’t have much in terms of rice and don’t sell soba noodles either, but they do seem to have a lot of the spices used in Korean cooking as opposed to other Asian cuisines. I had food in the little restaurant at the back with my friend once, and being honest, I hated it. I could barely stomach the bibimbap, and prefer raw egg instead of fried egg on it since that’s what it’s kind of supposed to be and what was shown on the picture. Also, they don’t write what’s actually in it either. Although very cheap, quality and taste and severely compromised, and the dishes are not that clean. Overall, average for groceries, poor for dining.

Han Sung is a pretty tiny Asian Market but it has a decent selection if you’re lacking soy sauce or rice wine vinegar… or something else of that sort. I actually like coming here for my meat for when I’m doing Asian cooking — I like to get thick slabs of pork belly here… they mince as well. It’s sort of a separate butcher within the store so you pay them separately. They seem to be able to smell my language skills… jk…but the butchers always speak to me in Chinese so I guess I get to practise language on the side! A nice bonus :).

Their hot food counter is really good value. Just order any of the dishes and you won’t disappoint. I realised you the empty bowl you get is for the bowl of soup you can pour yourself from the soup stand. I gaurantee your tastebuds will be tingling and happily full after your meal.

Top notch place. Love the hotspots but the 3 dishes plus rice and soup for 5:50 is also hard to beat. Friendly place too. Don’t tell too many people though — keep it our secret ;-) Top notch place. Very affordable & casual. A popular spot with students. Recommended for quick lunch. I always get the spicy kimchi pork with plain white rice. For groceries, they have a good selection and fairly reasonable prices. They also have a butcher + fish section. You can also place delivery for groceries for free if you spend over a certain amount.

A hidden gem, literally quite hidden on a quiet street! You can walk through to a little café where you can order ala carte or just rice with 3 dishes under the hot lamps for € 5.50. It ain’t pretty but it sure is tasty and great value for money, attested by the busy work crowd in the café at 1 pm on a Tuesday. At the front of the store is the Asian supermarket where they manage to pack everything under one roof. I found my gochujang sauce(essential for a Nigella recipe of Korean Keema) and two big packs of dumpings… yum! If you can’t go to dim sum, bring dim sum to you!

Good food, big portions and at a very affordable price! Not the place to go if you’re looking for an atmospheric restaurant. Being at the back of a food market, it has a very casual, deli feel. Great for lunch or a casual dinner with friends. Try the«Duck Frying Noodles»! Despite the grammatically hilarious name, they’re delicious. As for the supermarket, I haven’t bought much there yet. However their vegetable and meat dumplings, and ice tea are great!

I went to Han Yang in search of a marinade for beef ribs or Kalbi. They had it — now I am just waiting for the opportunity to try it. Oddly, the butcher at the front of the store did not have beef ribs. As for the store itself, it is very clean and offers a good array of asian spices and fresh produce. Also, the restaurant in back is pretty good. I tried the sweet and sour pork, chicken and aubergine dishes for 5.50 — good price, good flavors, but a little greasy — still, I liked it and look forward to going back.

I love this place with all of my teeny, tiny heart. The proportions are ridiculously large and the food is excellent so this is a good thing. I never get the Chinese dishes, barring their sweet and sour pork, so can only review the Korean ones. The ojingo boekum(squid with chilli and vegetables) and bulgogi(beef marinated in sugar, sesame oil and other yummy ingredients) are excellent; however, their sweet and sour pork is to die for. It is perfection and worth waiting for should they run out. One gets three dishes with rice for € 5.50, which is good value. They also sell kimbab, which is like sushi but the rice is plain and not vinegared, and this is also very good. The products in the store are primarily Korean so you can get your choco pies, pepero, kim, kim chee, frozen mandu, etc. The prices in the store are very good, too.

It’s a bit hard to review Han Yang because it’s a market and a restaurant. I went in for a quick lunch during the weekend because my friend had recommended it. The price is indeed cheap(a little under 6 euros). I ordered the spicy pork with kimchee and beef. While the cuisine is Korean, I think its more accurate to say that it is a mixture of Korean and Chinese. Some of the other dishes I got were distinctly more in the Chinese style(some stir fried veggies). I came in rather late for lunch(maybe 2PM) so the food had been sitting a little too long. The food isn’t cooked to order, and the veggies were too soggy for my tastes(maybe OK for Irish tastes, har har). However the meat dishes were good. They gave a shitload of rice and the miso wasn’t bad. I saw a number of people order noodle dishes, so I might try that next time. I glanced around the grocery to stock up on basic supplies like rice. They have a good selection of Asian goods and, uniquely, they sell their own kimchee behind the«deli» counter. Their butcher seemed quite popular too and I saw a number of people going in for the meats. A minor inconvenience is that they won’t accept credit card for orders under 10 euro. I wanted to give the food a higher rating, and I may amend my review should I eat lunch there when the food has just been prepared.

I was brought here by a friend who frequents the korean deli at the back otherwise, I would never have known about it, now I go in 2 – 3 times a week. I ordered spicy pork and korean beef which comes with a dish of boiled rice and costs… wait for it…€ 5.50! It’s too much for one sitting and tastes fab and if you’re eating there, they’ll give you a complimentary bowl of mesu soup with your meal. Anoter thing I noticed is that if you actually finish your meal there, they’ll feel guilty thinking they haven’t fed you enough and will offer more! This place can’t get any better!

As the name implies, Han Yang caters to your Asian grocery needs. If you have a taste for Asian cooking, maybe want to recreate the delicious beef-dumplings you picked up at a street vendor in Seoul, try to make an authentic Tom Kha Kai soup like the one you got in Bangkok or treat your dining guest to the Cambodian speciality, the fish Amok, this ethnic food market will have all the ingredients you need. Just thinking about this shop makes my tummy crave for a Vietnamese noodle soup with pork meatballs and mint. Yum!

It’s easy to skip Strand Street while walking the fashionable segments of the Millenium Walkway. But veer down this quiet side street and Han Yang is there to reward you. Sporting all the hallmarks of an excellent Asian grocery, Han Yang(any relation to the restaurant on Parnell st?) offers the usual stock of dried ingredients, spices and vege that you won’t find in the more flash Jervis M&S. Head to the back for a bit of authentic home cooking from the deli, or pick up some fresh fish for your own home recipe.
