See the city in comfort and style. It’s traditional and it’s good value. These guys rely heavily on word of mouth recommendations. They want you to come back or to tell your friends, so they make sure you have a great time. The carriages queue up like taxis and you go on a first come, first served basis. If you prefer the look of a carriage, horse or driver further back in line, get yourself a hot chocolate from Butlers and return in a while. It’s not something you’ll do more than once, so make sure you choose correctly to get the most out of your ride. Choose the amount of time you have sparee and the route and the price will follow. If you’re not sure, tell them how much you can spend and they’ll sort you out. Fairly, too. The drivers love anyone who wants to people ride in their carriages and listen to yarns about the good old days. If Dublin is known for anything, it’s for its stories. And these guys won’t disappoint. They’re true Dublin characters and an attraction not to be missed. Whether it’s a romantic ride for two or a child’s birthday treat, the drivers will accommodate and enthrall you. look out for the carriage that looks like it’s straight out of Cinderella, especially if you’ve got a group of young girls with you or a particularly soppy wife. It’ll get you brownie points, for sure.

Cheese please! Yup, this is a rather tacky local flavour but very enjoyable all all the same. Brought a visitor on it and he loved it, the taxi drivers trailing behind us didn’t but the horse did a poop in retaliation at their impatience. It’s not the cheapest tourist excursion, ranges from € 12 to about € 55. Prices vary according to the amount of time or type of tour you want. We took an hour long one which took in all the Georgian sights. It works on a first come first served basis, you can find the carts lined up outside St. Stephens Green.
