Despite an inner conflict with coffee, it remains my life blood. Numerous attempts to leave coffee behind have fallen short and it does not help that Insomnia is right beside the office… This insomnia boasts a lovely setting. The 6.50 hot drink and sambo deal is decent value and delicious, and the staff are always polite and friendly. This is probably the first time in my life where the person behind the counter of an outlet recognises me and knows what I am going to order before I open my mouth! Testament to the mocha and range of sambos

The usual Insomnia fare. My muffin tasted like every other insomnia muffin I’ve ever had and the coffee was nothing to write home about. If you’re looking for a generic experience, this is the place to come.

So the coffee here was not great. It wasn’t even good. but the atmosphere of this little spot makes up for it. We ordered a latte, a coffee and two scones. The coffee tasted like dirty coffee flavored water and I was told the latte wasn’t much better. The staff was friendly and again, the spot was adorbs. There was a nice outside area for customers to go and chat(however it was freezing, so we just notice to girls go out and smoke in the covered area.) We only had 2 good cups of coffee throughout our stay in Ireland, so I can’t hold the bad coffee against them.

Insomnia is a great little spot if you want to retreat for an hour or two with a coffee or muffin, or grab some lunch on the go. They have a whole selection of sandwiches and wraps, as well as salad too. I particularly like their crayfish salad. I’m also a fan of their soup too — they usually have a meat variety(like a stew) and a veggie option too. They also have lots of treats like biscotti, cake and cookies. Very tempting! It’s cheap and cheerful, and while I’m not a coffee drink so cant confirm this, their coffee is meant to be pretty darn good too.
